Another update on Salon Domane Only rave great things to say about them She the owner is always there and he's really nice and I think it's his wife who also works there and she's helpful and nice and they have water and offer you tea and they have candy and magazines and I go there for myself and I have a pretty complicated hair. It's naturally curly and light brown, which I haven't seen in 30 years. I bleached it out diet, baby pink, and get extension extensions put in this takes me four appointments. They are really really close to me and so I really really lucked out. Note to anyone who has never been there before, there is always parking right in front. It has a green painted curb though that says it's only 10 minutes, but it doesn't matter. It's fine. You can be there forever. It's fine I promise. Can I go to the nail shop next-door which doesn't really good job too. OK, back to Salon Domane things that I like about them is that I also go there every week with my mother like I said who just turned 80 and has Alzheimer's and jenn is so awesome that she's really booked so now I've seen two or three other stylist for her getting her hair washed and set or colored and they're all good with her. Everyone's really nice. And they have a good system that text messages me with confirmation confirmations and reminders, which is helpful because, well ADHD and stuff. Marissa is Jenny's assistant and she's really awesome too. They use really good products. It's a not a big place. Maybe like 12 stations. So it's not cheap, but it's totally not expensive either. I think it's appropriate. And for me who does extensions, she lets me get my own and bring them in and uses them which saves me money so I appreciate that but I recommend jenn for anything that is "different " as in hair color or styles. She hasn't had "natural" colored hair since I've met her and I haven't since I can remember either so I got lucky that she was the one available when I called to make an appointment with someone because I first found them through Instagram anyways. Lol this is long but that's me. Ashley is really nice, too. I really appreciate how patient they are with me and my mom. I've had to cancel last minute and even I have no showed before and I wasn't charged, which is very generous... Don't do it! Lol but yeah. Everyone's independent I think so. Just find who you like or just call and get the first person available cause I'm sure they'll be good. My hairdresser had recently retired and I was so nervous looking for another hair stylist. I have a friend whose hair color and hairstyle is outstanding so I asked her who she uses. She referred me to Shane at Salon Domane. I had my hair colored highlighted and cut and I was absolutely impressed. I found myself a new hairdresser and I'm so excited. My hair was done by Sara Ray. She has been at Salon Domane about 2 years and worked previously with Ulta and a few other hair salons. Sara has professional people skills, she has a creative and artistic take on your hair. Her boss was her trainer, therefore whoever has Sean do their hair can count on Sara to be similar. Upon going in, I am not familiar with the term "Balayage", however that is the style you'll see on my hair color and is the "IN" thing nowadays, I guess. I am used to the full color head of hair, therefore what you see in black patch up top is my natural hair color blended in with color. Sara removed the formative brassiness to my hair color and toned it down with a caramel tones blended color. I love how the colored part and highlights are thin and classy. I'm still adjusting to the Balayage look though...lol Sara does know how to make your hair color come out pretty while still natural. I felt pampered! During hair drying, I had 2 women blow drying and styling my hair, it was making me sleep! Thanks Sara for my first time at Salon Domane. Cost was $140 for full color, $115 for partial. I didn't do a haircut, that would be for another time. I always do 4 stars as my best review for others because over time if I continue to receive great service and am satisfied, then overall my rating slowly changes to 5 stars with consistent service :) read more

I went to Salon Domane because it's close to my house and had great reviews on Yelp. I went in to get a haircut with Sara Ray. The salon is clean and spacious with a good selection of products. I wasn't there long because I only needed a haircut. My hair is thick and long (waist length) and I wanted a few inches cut off with layers all around. I told her not to hold back and cut what she needed to make it look like the picture I showed her of the cut I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the cut! It looks absolutely exactly like what I wanted. She worked quickly, was friendly and knowledgeable. So excited because I think I found my new salon! read more

I hate to leave a negative review, but the amount of excuses from both the stylist, Jessica and the owner, Shane left me speechless. It was my first experience with Jessica. I told her that I wanted a partial weave with lowlight and highlights and that I would prefer just tint if she felt comfortable with tint. She said nothing. So I figured that was a no. She asked what colors I would like, and I told her a very light blonde and a dark blonde. I do remember telling her I was excited to be blonde again and excited to get rid of the gray. An hour and a half later or so I was done. I liked the color, and I tipped her well. I haven't mentioned that I have terrible vision. So that added to the problem of me not noticing the issue of the gray from the beginning. I got home and as I always do, I send a nice message telling my stylist that I love my hair and thank them again. It is just something I make a habit of doing. Anyway, when I rinsed my hair out on Sunday (no shampoo) and dried it, I realized that the temples, and some of the front of my hair had no color at all. So again, I nicely said that I loved my hair, but that it was not colored in the front. Her response was that I just asked for highlights and lowlights. (I asked for a partial weave with highlights and lowlights) Then she said she didn't have any openings, and I could call the salon and see if anyone else had time to do my roots. The end.... I responded that I was disappointed with that response. I called the salon the next morning and left a message for Shane, the owner. He called back that afternoon. His response was that there was a miscommunication, and that I must not have made it clear that I wanted "total gray coverage". I tried to explain that I just wanted some gray coverage. A little blending with the weaving. (All of my stylist have either put color on the front or blended it very well without me saying anything. So maybe, I need to tell people from now on.) I have had my hair weaved for 35 years. Seven of those years have been with gray hair. I have never had anything like this happen. He said that if I wanted the roots done I should have told her. I am pretty sure that is why people come in for a weave....to get their "roots done". He just kept arguing. After a little time, I realized he didn't seem to care in my opinion. So I just said goodbye. I spent a decent amount of money, and now I have to go and have someone else fix my roots. She did send another message, which I didn't see until after my conversation with Shane, saying that she could put in a few lowlights at the beginning of December, but that doesn't help me for my Thanksgiving holiday and trip I have planned. After the conversation with Shane, I am really not comfortable with going back to the salon. What a shame that they couldn't just say, "I'm sorry you weren't happy. Why don't you come on in and we will see what we can do." Honestly, I didn't want much. I originally asked if she could just give me a little color and I would put it in myself. I know that isn't really allowed, but I was just trying to show her how easy I would be to please. I just wanted the front of my hair to be any shade but gray. It didn't have to be perfect. A little customer service ands caring would have gone a long way. I am posting pictures of my hair. This is four days after having my partial weave "roots done". You have to admit, it is not pretty. read more

The trim was fine but because I was a walk in I got the only person that was available and it wasn't the best experience. I came in for a basic trim. I showed her photos of before and after and how my hair had gone downhill. I showed pictures of previous natural butt length hair and I told her I missed it badly and am growing it out and I explained that I have gone for a million big trims and now I want to do a tiny trim so I can keep trying to grow it out. She didn't even listen those 10 minutes I was talking and showing pics because she begins telling me oh you need a haircut you really need a haircut. What is it with hairdressers not understanding when you show them photos of your butt-length hair goals and them constantly ignoring you and wanting you to cut it? How can your hair grow back if you keep chopping it every other month? No one I know does so many trims. After the trim she got out the hairdryer to style the bangs and I jumped and told her the dryer heat is burning my forehead and scalp. It was so painful and she heard me but she continued. Hello???? That means turn down the HEAT! Anyway, I thought it would be a simple appt and easy too because of the good reviews I had also read but I think it really matters who you get. Fast forward, I want all my hair colored dark and I want another tiny trim soon but I am hesitant in going back because I don't want pain during blowdry if they don't have any lower settings and I am a long hair girlie that doesn't want constant pressure of cutting my hair off. Short hair women will never understand this. I also need to start booking appointments in advance even for the smallest things and I need to book with stylists who's names were actually mentioned in the below reviews. Not someone that was trying to go on lunch and their Manager just pulled them back to work on me. That person needs a break and was already checked out. read more

I'm so thankful my boyfriend recommended this place to me. I started seeing Carrie two years ago and I haven't looked back!! She always give me such a great cut and style!! She actually listens to what you want and does exactly what you ask for -- a lost art nowadays. I always ask for what I call the "Rachel" from Friends. You know, the wispy layers around the face. She executes the cut perfectly every time and I always leave the salon feeling significantly better than when I entered. Not only is she a great stylist, but she is very knowledgeable about different hair styles, textures, lengths, colors, treatments, etc. She's honest and will tell you the truth about what would look good on you. I definitely value her opinion! Because she's so talented, she is usually pretty booked up so you'll need to make an appointment at least a week or two in advance. And she also books her appointments personally via phone or an appointment booking website (haven't tried that out yet).
