Louie is amazing; a true artist and professional! I'm not an expert stylist, colorist, or hair dresser. So when I look for a hair stylist I'm expecting them to be the the knowledge experts on what color, cut, style would look best based on my skin tone, face shape, hair texture, etc. Louie did just that; he took a look at my hair and recommended a brown so I can slowly start transitioning to the lighter color I want. He explained the damage that would be caused to my hair if he kept bleaching it, and explained a healthier approach to lightening my hair. I walked in with hair dyed black, Loui, could have agreed to a much lighter color, bleached, and dyed my hair, charged me a lot of money, all the while knowing the damage this intense change in color would do to my already treated hair. I appreciated his honesty, and love my brown color, not only was it a healthier approach for my hair, but it also looks better than what I originally imagined. I'll be back again! read more

Dishonest people, horrible experience. I brought my daughter to get her hair done for her 11th birthday, to get the tips of her hair bleached then dyed blue with a Brazilian blowout to help tame her curly hair. We had an appointment with Vanessa Mendez on September 2, 2025 and I explained to her what I wanted done but she didn't do that--apparently she did something according to a picture my daughter showed her when I was moving my car. The problem with the photo my daughter showed her is that the girl in the picture had straight hair, completely different than my daughter's hair. When you are 10, you can't understand that your hair won't look like that of the picture. I don't know if you have kids but I'm guessing Vanessa does not. You do what the parent says, not the child. So here's all the reasons I'm upset: 1. Although I just wanted the bottom 3 inches or so to have color, she bleached it almost all the way up to her roots in front, maybe an inch from the top. 2. Blue. I said BLUE. After the bleaching process, she started putting GREEN with a slightly blue tint dye on her hair. I stopped her and said it needed to be more blue. She begrudgingly went back and added blue but now, 3 1/2 weeks later, the color has washed out and it's an awful shade of light green. The reason why I wanted blue is because I knew the color would wash out and light blue would look so much better than this brassy green color it now is. 3. I asked Vanessa if she thought a Brazilian Blowout would help smooth out the texture of her hair and she assured me that it would but it didn't. If anything, it's made her hair more dry and crunchy than it would have been otherwise. I have had Yuko Japanese straightening done on my own hair so I know that the 2 swipes with a flat iron wasn't enough to do anything but I trusted she knew what she was doing. Within an hour after leaving the salon, her hair was poofy, frizzy and felt like straw. Mind you, this was on 100% virgin hair that had never had any treatments of any sort. 4. We spent the entire day at this salon, from 10am to around 3:45pm and Vanessa made us feel like we were bothering her the entire time. She didn't talk to us at all, except when I had to intervene in what she was doing and only in response. This outing cost me over $700 so I was upset to see that the salon is now "temporarily closed," according to Yelp. The phones are disconnected and I've gotten no response by email or Facebook. I literally feel like she stole my money since she either didn't know how to do a Brazilian Blowout or she just didn't care. In hindsight, (it was probably Vanessa's guilty conscience since she knew she was charging me for a Brazilian Blowout that we didn't get), I tipped her too well because she asked me multiple times if I was sure I wanted to give her that big of a tip. Also in hindsight, she probably wasn't worried about me coming back to complain since she knew the salon was about to close down. Google shows that Salon Soleil is supposed to reopen January of 2026, rest assured I will be driving by to check on a regular basis but I'm not getting my hopes up. read more

I booked a last minute haircut and Salon Soleil was able to accommodate with my schedule. The space was very nice and clean, and the vibes were great. I loved how they used Kerastase shampoos and conditioner products. I had Vanessa as my hair stylist and she did such an amazing job on my hair. I'm usually super picky, but she nailed it. Literally run. I came in based off a recommendation from a friend, and requested a simple trim. The stylist I had went on about needing to give me layers to add volume. I don't need or want that. I got bangs in October (worst decision ever) and I've been working really hard to get my hair back to one length. I vocalized that. Tell me how I walked out of that salon paying $100 and looking like I just left the set of an 80s music video shoot. Not to mention every time I was vocal about what I wanted, he argued with me. Also, the cut wasn't even, and the staff completely gaslit me afterwords when I tried to bring it up. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is the girl who washed my hair was incredibly friendly. The salon was also very clean and they use Moroccan Oil products which both were pluses but I would never return here even if you actually paid me to shoot an 80's themed music video in this salon. Overall experience compared to other salons was very very bad. The male stylist was very dismissive and did not try to listen to what I wanted for my blowout. I showed him pictures of a classic blowout and he said it wasn't possible on my hair even though I get blowouts all the time. He said he would put nice waves in my hair that looked similar. It did NOT look similar...it looked like the tight curls I would put in my hair in middle school. I asked if he could at least put mousse in to hold volume and he said volume in my hair is not possible lol. He was also very rough when brushing out my wet hair. I don't have a sensitive scalp, and this HURT. He didn't bother to use any detangling spray and just caused a lot of breakage in my hair from forcing my tangles out. If you have blonde hair especially, stay far away from this place. Literally every single thing about this place, and the experience was horrendous. I've never had such a horrible experience getting my hair done. I was clear on the phone that all I wanted was to retouch the growth. I have very light dyed blonde hair and I wanted highlights and then a simple base bump to blend it all in. I should have left like I wanted to after the stylist was 24 minutes late because he was "watching a soccer game in his car in the parking lot". But I couldn't because the attendant was talking to me to distract me. I should've just left, but I didn't want to be rude. Once the stylist finally got there, I explained that I just wanted highlights and a base bump to touch up the regrowth. I get my hair done every five or six weeks but he said that it's too soon to get highlights and it would damage my hair. Yes, it's a little bit damaging but blonde hair always is, its no big deal and it's super long, so clearly its fine. But there's a huge language barrier. I thought we ended up talking about the same thing, but I ended up with dark brown hair! A base bump is such a common term in the hairstyling industry, basically used as a gray blending technique and so that you don't end up with a stark line for your regrowth. Neither of them knew what it was and I thought that we ended up talking about the same thing. It was just so frustrating and awkward. I guess I sort of gave up and made myself believe that nothing could really be that bad. I tried to explain the color of blonde that I wanted and he wouldn't listen and kept saying oh I'm a master stylist, I'm a master stylist. But I had a clear vision and I'm the client. Some clients just know exactly what they want, not what somebody else wants to impose on them. Then, moving on to the service, no one has ever had to do this before, he literally kept pulling my head back to the point where my head was like bent all the way back, and it was spraining my neck without any head support. After 15 pull backs with my neck being bent back into a U-shape and looking at the ceiling with no head support, I literally collapsed in pain. You need to use a stool or something instead, I don't understand how that's acceptable or any other client can do it. The whole process was so awkward with the attendant being there in every possible situation and then all three of us are talking. It was so frustrating and confusing and awkward. Trying to interpret for him and then distract the client from the audacities, like we don't know what's going on, like we're really that unaware of the distraction techniques and compensating for complete unprofessionalism. Then when I was in the chair and my hair was wet, I could clearly see that it's dark brown, and I mentioned it to the attendant and then she scoffed and laughed at me and didn't say anything, but instead waited until he came back and then talked like I wasn't there and said "oh she thinks it's brown" and just kept repeating no no no it's not. But it is dark brown. From all platinum blonde before. I was clear that I wanted cool colors and it's a warm, coppery brown on top of it all. But they were obsessed with their master color matching system for someone's skin tone. Sometimes people want a trend/certain look over with the stylist thinks they should have. I knew what I wanted. I didn't want somebody looking at gold and silver pieces of paper to impose some brown color on top of what I came in asking for, which was BLONDE. They're obsessed with that stupid color matching system completely above and beyond just listening to the client This result and just the treatment was so unfair and so wrong, I just really can't believe it. The pricing was insincere also. highlights are the most expensive cost, and he just did about 4 tiny little foils and she didn't charge the full price because she could tell I was livid but it's still way too much for basically just a little bit of color some toner and then cutting half an inch off my hair with no style. So it just ended up being maybe what I should've been charged in the first place after highlights aren't being done. But honestly, it's not even about the money, my hair is just ruined for the special occasion and will take a lot to restore it. There's a huge, huge, huge communication barrier with the stylist, and so if you're looking for something specific, I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Everything seems fine and dandy when you book the appointment over the phone because that person does understand English But if you love your time being wasted and not respected, being talked over and getting "a master colorist" vision of what they think you should look like, not what you were completely clear on what you wanted, and then being charged the highest prices in the industry, and a sidekick glued to you, gaslighting you the whole time, Then this is the perfect place for you read more

My hair looked better before I came in. The service was nice but the finished product is not at all what I asked for (I quite literally did not ask for it) and I am sad because it will take several months to a year for me to fix when I was finally somewhat happy with my hair, yet my hair goals have now been reset back to square one. I won't go into specifics because the person that did my hair did not mean harm I am sure, but it would be nice if more stylists asked before making drastic changes. I am so sad. Amazing service, Louie did some magic trick with my teen's bleach damaged hair and gave her the cut she had her heart set on...she could not stop looking at it on the way back. This is a blessing because her hair is curly and thick and other hair dressers didn't know how to do layers with this kid (in the past she ended up with some very ugly haircuts haha). I have been seeing Lisa Genelle for over 15 years. Even though I live over an hour away she is still my go to stylist. I have fine colored hair (with shinys aka greys) that she carefully and masterfully tames without damaging. I am a registered nurse who has worked frontline during this Covid-19 pandemic. I appreciate the attention the salon has devoted to making it a safe and still bright and welcoming escape from lockdown. Temperature checks, hand sanitizer and a questionnaire at the door, the staff and patrons wear masks. Each salon chair is sectioned off and someone is always cleaning.
