I came here March 14 after my last hair person left. I tried someone a month and a half before and she didn't do great so I came here between my 2 1/2 to 3 month coloring for a time to lighten my roots. I have very fine hair that fell out in spots in 2017 and thinned, and it was a damaged from the previous color. A tone doesn't damage. The consult led to her telling me about hair pieces she sells and colors, since a lot of my hair fell out in 2017. I said I'd do a bang front piece one, and paid $375 for the tone, cut and hair ($275) she was going to order. I made an appointment for my hair highlight for May 1. I saw no other men there at the time of my appointment a couple months ago. When I got home, I quickly realized why that was. My hair had been pretty well butchered by who I think was the owner or a manager. It was so bad that I booked an appointment at a different salon in town the next day to get it fixed. Between the two cuts, I spent something like $120. What I regret the most is leaving a good tip. My advice for whoever cut my hair is simple: listen to the requests and input of the customers in your chair so that you minimize the risk of doing the polar opposite of what they want done. Kayla was fantastic! I came in today a bit nervous, as I hadn't had my hair cut or colored in 3 years. I'd had bad experiences in the past, and so I worry about seeing a new stylist. Kayla got on the phone when I called the salon, and spoke with me directly. She seemed knowledgeble, and made several suggestions about hair color options and ways to take care of my rough, stringy hair. I have a terminal heart-lung disease, and my hair reflects my illness. I had to come after dialysis, and Kayla was perfectly fine with waiting. I had low blood pressure and felt quite woozy when I arrived, and she immediately offered me some cold water. She genuinely cared, and didn't make me feel rushed. (I was moving pretty slowly). Kayla took the time to figure out the best way to color my hair, the best colors to use, and we even cut off enough to donate to Locks for Love! :) She made me feel cared-for and put me at ease, and I was able to relax and enjoy the process :). My hair color turned out GREAT, and I love how it feels and looks! She made several suggestions, too, for ways to keep it healthier and hydrated. Thank you Kayla! I'm not sure how I feel about this salon. I won't be back, however, it wasn't the absolute worst place I've ever been to either. But it just was not a good experience for me. A lot of the ladies that were there seemed very nice, but they were not the ones that were cutting my hair. Unfortunately, the stylist that cut my hair, made me feel very awkward and uncomfortable, even to the point where I let her know maybe I should leave before she even began cutting my hair, which is never happened to me before. I have very fine and thin hair. But I've had many haircuts in my life and usually a stylist gives me suggestions, is positive about it, and makes me feel like yeah they're going to be able to make it look nice. But the stylist that I got was looking at my hair, puzzled, nervous, and Doing a lot of hmmmm ummmmm sounds ... which made me feel like she either didn't know what to do with my hair, or that she didn't want to. I tried to tell her that I wanted layers starting at my jawline, because with fine thin hair, the layers make my hair look thicker, she proceeded to tell me that that's the worst thing you can do for fine, thin hair, which is the opposite of what I've been told by other stylist so I don't know.. I asked her for curtain bangs and a little bit of bangs in the front that I kind of already had and she seemed very flustered and like what I was asking for was not possible or she had no idea what I was talking about even though I brought in very specific pictures. It made me so uncomfortable because she was acting that way that I told her you know what, I could go. You don't have to cut my hair... but she said no let's do it and it was really awkward so I just stayed. She washed my hair And gave me a three minute haircut, and I noticed that the layers were not starting at my jawline like I had specifically asked for 15 minutes prior to that and she trimmed a little bit, my bangs, and a little bit in the front on the layering .. I thought that she was maybe two minutes into a 10 minute haircut but then she started getting the blow dryer out, so I asked her are you still going to put layers in my hair? And she said "I already did" I was a little blown away that she could complete the haircut in less than three minutes.. then she blew dry my hair And it wasn't the worst haircut I've ever had but it also wasn't really what I was hoping for, and it certainly didn't look like any of the pictures. After I went home, I trimmed a little bit more with the scissors to what I could do, and then blow dry at the way that I had described to her that she didn't do and it looked OK. But nothing that would bring me back. I believe that my haircut was $75 and I did leave her a tip because I always leave a tip good or bad but yes I will not be back Still on the hunt for a place that makes me feel comfortable knows what they are doing and doesn't make me feel uncomfortable read more

Spent a year going to Andrea for a color I never got. I wanted balayage and she kept putting highlights in my hair!?? Stopped going to her altogether. Not worth the money and not worth the constant damage! Don't do it! These girls at these salons say they can do balayage when they can't. They just take the money initially and you'll keep having to going back to fix THEIR mistakes! One of my girlfriends said "not a lot of people can do balayage because it's really hard!" I would have appreciated the admittance then to be fooled into thinking I'd get a result that could never be accomplished by that individual. read more

Honest review... the salon is clean and staff is nice. Lisa Livingstone has cut my hair previously and last time I went I asked for a toner dye which I was nervous about because I don't normally have color in my hair. I told her that when booking the appointment and she said OK no worries and that she was going to double book on the date we agreed on. I told her if she doesn't have time to do the service I can come back because I don't wanna be rushed or not have the right amount of attention. She assured me it would be fine so I went to my appointment. She told me from the start that the toner only stays in for 15 minutes so it would be fast. She she applied the toner and I waited in the sink area while she went and styled her other clients hair. I looked at the time and it had been 30 minutes then 45 minutes and then an hour, and she never even looked back to check on me. It took me calling over to another employee to ask how long toner should be in and she said the samething, "no more than 15 minutes" I told her I was here for an hour and she looked so shocked. When the other employee called Lisa over she just said "oh it's OK... can I finish the other styling and be back to wash it out?" I was really resistant and said no because I was already uncomfortable of how long she's had left me. Over all the experience felt very neglectful, she didn't even really apologize and unfortunately I won't be returning for any sort of service on my hair. read more

I see Kayla every other month here for a cut and color. I've been going to her for years now, and followed her when she came to Salon Muse. She has great prices for her services (especially for for a cut and color in HB), and my hair has never looked better or healthier. Additionally, the salon is clean and beautifully decorated, and the receptionists always provide amazing service. I am always offered a beverage when I arrive, which is a thoughtful touch. No one is ever there, its an appointment only salon NOT dry bar, and they are rude and leave the receptionist there in the dark with no lights on poor thing. They advertise discoujts from 1 to 7 on Tuesdays and no one is there. Go elsewhere, anywhere else, not worth the time or gas read more
