Valet is apparently free, but I found street parking in front of OSPI. I initially found SAGE on Yelp, then visited their website to learn more before booking. I really appreciated how transparent they are. Each stylist has a profile with a bio and a picture. The services and individual pricings are listed upfront in the booking portal, which made it easy to choose someone who fit what I was looking for. Price transparency is important to me, and at the very end I was charged exactly what I booked. My stylist was Mikayla, and she was incredibly meticulous/detail-oriented. She spent about 4.5 hours perfecting my Full Highlights, and I never felt like she was rushing through any part of the process. During the consultation, I felt heard. She listened to what I wanted without any judgment or pressure to steer me toward a different outcome. Instead, the conversation felt collaborative, with explanations that helped me make informed decisions. I know for some, having to chat for all that time may be daunting. Mikayla struck the perfect balance between friendly conversation and giving me space. She clearly communicated each step of the process before doing it. My Full Highlights service included foiling, toning, a shadow root, a hair mask, and a full blowout. I'm so happy with how everything turned out!

Colby really took the time to listen to what I wanted and understood exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to keep my long hair while adding movement and shape, and he absolutely nailed it. My hair finally looks the way I had envisioned. Beyond his talent, he was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout the appointment. Before I left, he even let me know that if there was anything I'd like adjusted after living with the haircut for a few days, he'd be happy to take care of it. Aside from a few highlights around my face and on the top of my head, it didn't look like I had recently had my roots highlights touched up at all. My hair looks grown out as if I had not even had it done. Watch the video and you be the judge. When I brought up my concerns, the owner, I sent her this same video (Emily) explained that this is what the salon considers a partial ROOT highlight touchup. I already had my hair previously bleached . I respect that explanation, but for $240 plus a $50 tip ($290 total), I expected a more noticeable result. She offered to correct it for an additional $50. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision and have a clear understanding of what this salon considers a partial highlight ROOT service.

I went to her in October for a refresh of my highlights. I was already nervous, since my previous stylist had moved away and always took great care of my fine hair, making sure it never got damaged. I told Caitlyn upfront that I was anxious about letting someone new bleach my hair, given a history of stylists frying it, and that I chose her specifically because she's a senior stylist. She reassured me she doesn't use heat dryers and starts with a low developer, so my hair would be fine. Once I was in the chair, I explained exactly what I wanted: a little brighter, a refresh of all my highlights, but keeping the dark root and dimension shown in my before photo. She agreed and got started. She never mentioned pricing, so I assumed it would be around $400 at most. During the appointment, she suggested going through my ends because they looked dark. I said maybe next time, since I wanted to preserve the integrity of my hair. Later, she mentioned she'd gone ahead and done a few extra pieces at the bottom anyway something I never asked for. By the time she finished washing my hair, it was already dark outside, so I told her not to worry about blow-drying it. I went home with wet hair. Even then, it looked extremely blonde, which worried me, but I assumed it was just because it was wet. At checkout, I was shocked: the total came to $650. I left a tip anyway because she was watching the screen as I paid and I felt put on the spot. (Receipts attached.) When I got home, my husband immediately said my hair looked way too blonde and pointed out broken pieces. He was right. Over the next few days, it kept breaking. My hair had taken years to get healthy, and in one appointment it became dry, brittle, and was falling out. The extra strands she did without asking only made the breakage worse. I ended up buying box dye to fix the color myself, since I hated how it looked. As of June 2026, I've had to cut at least 8 inches off, and I'm still working to repair the damage. This experience caused me real distress -- I loved my hair, and I deeply regret trying a new stylist. I'm sharing this so it doesn't happen to anyone else. They do everything! I've been so sick of going to my waxing lady, then trying to get in with my nail lady and then scheduling my hair guy. It used to take me a week to finish a pamper day... and then... I found Uncaged! Michael does my extensions, color, highlights and style, then Sherena takes care of all my waxing needs, finally Erin and Yvonne fix up my paws with a bomb mani pedi. I even can take my men friends for pamper day because Charlie does straight razor shaves! I spend a few hours at Uncaged like its a playground, but its definitely my beauty parlor of choice. read more

Sanela is an amazing hair dresser - I found uncaged via its great reviews and I am so glad I did. There is always some uncertainty with going to a new hairdresser but I lucked out. Sanela did a balayage on my hair and oh my, the color is perfect! It's gorgeous! She also cut my hair and I am so happy with how she cut it. Came into this store because of all the reviews I have been reading in my area. First person to greet me was Charlie. He said he was new but I wanted to see what he could do anyways. It was my first time there so thought I would try anyone. Boy ohhh boy what an amazing job he did. He was able to take my old style and change it up to something a little more modern. The highlights were extremely stripey, there were harsh lines throughout my hair, and the blend was nothing like what I had asked for. The photos I took at home speak for themselves. I contacted the aubrey immediately and returned the very next day to give her the opportunity to fix it. At that point, I decided to seek a second opinion from a completely different salon. When my new stylist sectioned my hair, she showed me the back of my head, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There was a harsh line separating my natural color from the lightened hair with very little blending, and the color placement throughout the back was uneven and patchy. She explained that it would require a full color correction to achieve the seamless, lived-in blonde I originally requested. I ended up spending hundreds of additional dollars and another several hours in a salon to have my hair corrected. While I do appreciate that the salon eventually offered me a partial refund, it didn't come close to covering the cost of fixing the work. I'm sharing my experience because I wish I had thoroughly checked the back of my hair before leaving the salon. My advice to future clients is to look at your hair from every angle and in natural lighting before you leave. I truly wanted this experience to end differently, but unfortunately, it fell far below my expectations.
