She's been doing my hair for nearly ten years, through all my different phases from pure platinum to a more natural balayage, ashy blonde, rose gold tint, even coppery/strawberry blonde this last time. I've gotten stopped in public multiple times to ask who my stylist is! We did extensions for a few years which always looked amazing and so natural. My cut always looks great, even had a stage with bangs and she is always a perfectionist shaping my hair. She was the only one I would trust with my hair for my wedding & all events leading up to it! Went to see Kelly based on reviews- location since not too familiar with area. While very pleasant personality wise I was so disappointed leaving my appointment. I went in with long hair a little above my waist even client that sat next to me expressed how pretty my hair looked prior to. I asked for a hair cut with a photo & presented to makd sure I was cleared about the result I was looking for. Unfortunately my hair looked nothing like the photo - also she worked on another client at same time which I'm ok with But after $120 I had to fix it myself after got home & just accepted the fact I took a chance heavily based on reviews. I only know if you have long hair & straight be cautious who you go to. I didn't get the experience I had hoped for but that doesn't take away her good reviews. I purchased a promo package a month or two ago and worked up the courage and the time to treat myself. Luckily, it's my birthday/wedding anniversary weekend, so I had time and an excuse. Amber worked on me and did a restorative blowout. It was so calming and she was SO peaceful to work with. I had an absolutely delicious strawberry tea as she did my hair. I love this salon! So clean and all of the stylists are so friendly and welcoming. Marlee Hildebrand is my go-to for all of my coloring/styling needs! She is magic with blonde hair and I truly love how my hair turns out every time - whether I want to be super bright blonde for summer or a more natural/darker blonde in the fall/winter. I've recommended her to so many close friends/family. My mom has struggled to find a stylist who can give her the redish-brown color she wants and she has been going to Marlee for over a year and says she'll never switch! Review about stylist Marlee Hildebrand (@hairbymarlz on Instagram). Sooo long story short, Marlee did my hair terribly when I requested a partial balayage with a root shadow. She said it would be $200. At the end of the appt is when she decided to tell me it's actually going to be $250. Well, I did not get any root shadow that I paid for, some bleached hair was still white as it didn't get any toner, and she turned me into a tiger. I was too shy to say it in the moment so I messaged her on Instagram the next day saying it turned out really poorly and sent pics. She replied a couple of days later and offered to fix it in the salon, but I'm from out of town and was already gone. So, I tried to just bite the bullet and get it redone elsewhere, but it was so expensive-- so I messaged her again asking if I can have some sort of a refund... well, she said no and BLOCKED ME. How absurd. She does balayage but dumping a clump of bleach on a whole strand, no separation in the strand to have a dimensional or 'lived in' look. Also you can see in the pictures one side of my side burns is BLEACH BLONDE while the other is still my natural brunette color?? Looks so bad. Ugh. Wasn't going to write this review until I saw she blocked me for disagreeing with her. Complete lack of professionalism or professional skill in blonding. read more

Initially just went for a hair dye (first time ever doing so) and was a bit nervous as I wasn't sure how well it would work on jet black hair. I was not only proven wrong but saw how much a difference it makes when done professionally and with a nice color. After that me and my girlfriend absolutely trust Amber and Desa Salon to always do their best. I'll consider myself a regular whenever I need anything for my hair from now on. Avoid this place! Not only did I get a terrible haircut from one of there stylist.. I had called a day before my appointment to get a blowout and confrom another stylist, but had a family emergency saying I wouldn't be able to make it in the next day due to my son going to the hospital. You would think they would honor and reschedule and take another appointment but they could care less. Very rude and disappointing. Also I now have thin choppy looking hair because there stylists get scissor happy and chopped-up my hair. Have gotten a blowout here, conditioning treatment, and also styling with diffuser blow dry. I like the products Christian used on my curly hair, left it manageable and less frizzy than usual. He used a good selection of products for my curly hair which I appreciate since some products other stylists use tend to dry out my hair and even cause more frizz. Kind, sweet staff. So my first time coming to your establishment. April was super sweet. Today she colored my hair and trimmed it.  The trim to shape up my hair I'm fine with. It needed it. What I'm not ok about is how dark my hair is. I told her about me normally doing it at home and using a light golden brown to get the color I desire since my hair is dark. Well, she went to match it to her swatch.  Outcome, way darker than I prefer. I thought it was due to the lighting, but nope, it's a DARK brown. Not happy.  For the price I paid, I was expecting it to be closer to what I normally do.  I guess I'll just stick to doing it at home and having consistency with the color once this fades out. read more

Long story short, I asked for layers and bangs. The bangs were a disaster... I know it is just hair, it will grow back, however, my senior graduation pictures are tomorrow.. so I do not have much time for growth. I uploaded a pix of the bangs... you be the judge. I asked for the bangs to cover the arch of the brow... well they are 1 inch above my eyebrow, on one side.I also did not get the layers and volume that I requested. My picture was removed by yelp 8 days after posting it. Hmmm... goes to show how bad my haircut was. It was was a picture of just my forehead and bangs. My girlfriend has been going to this Salon for a few months now. Previously she had been getting her roots bleached for $65 not bad at all. She liked going and all the people there were very kind. She had decided that she no longer wanted to damage her hair and wanted to try and go back to her natural ombré. Before going in she knew it wouldn't be a easy process due to her damaged hair but its what she wanted to do. She went in and spoke with her hair dresser and was told it couldn't be done and there was other options. So she took one of the options given to her. Her hair dresser suggested that she get low lights with NON-permanent dye. Her hair dresser stressed that her hair couldn't hold the dye. So she went with the non-permanent dye option thinking it would be a good idea. It's 3 days later now and her hair has been washed for the first time. Shocker the dye is very washed out. Her roots have a completely straight line where the colors contrast - it couldn't be any harsher. After looking at the pricing at Desa salon a full highlight should cost around $120. Yet for some reason a NON-permanent low light cost $185? This makes no sense at all. The two of us would no longer recommend this place to our friends. We were happy with the results every time before this, but at this point it feels we were taken advantage of. read more
