    Mongolian Grill sans noodles
    Alex A.

It's been a while since I posted a review and it's good to be back! There are a few restaurants we've tried previously so I'll post my reviews soon. I saw this restaurant from one of Linda Eats World Instagram posts and was intrigued by it. I love Mongolian grill noodles and to have a place that focuses on the dish in Raleigh made me really happy. So we headed over during the weekend lunchtime to try their fare. The rundown: - the fried rice they served was so plain, bland and hardly any garnish. Definitely a D. - the buffet savory items were typical Chinese bland fare. With the exception of the fried squid and Rangoons. The two I give a B+. The rest were a C+. - the clam chowder, while tasty didn't have any clams at all. Mostly potatoes. I'll give this a B-. - the hot and sour soup was a little disappointing. Had a strong soy sauce taste and not that spicy. I'll give this a C-. - the Mongolian grill noodle preparation was good! The sauce was rich but not overpowering, the buffet ingredients were well prepared except for the shrimp. It looked a little water-logged. The food was cooked well and I enjoyed it. I'll give it A-. The service is great. A+. The restrooms were immaculate and the dining area was well lit, clean and inviting. I'd give this an A. Overall, this is a Four Star establishment. Definitely worth visiting. We'll come back for dinner someday to see how they fare.

This was one of the first places we came to last year when it was a seafood restaurant now it reopened as a Mongolian grill . I can't say enough good things about this place first the service was fast and all the staff is extremely friendly. The restaurant is spacious and the staff cleans it often and they kept the little aquarium which my kids love at the entrance . Side note bring quarters if your kids like those little candy/sticker machines . The all you can eat concept here in North Carolina are you kidding me we have been looking for something like this since we moved from Las Vegas. They have a small section of hot foods and desserts and ice cream variety. They also have the grill section where you can pack a bowl with noodles or veggies or meat or all the above and give it to them for cooking in front of your eyes . Updated tip: Went back last Saturday and oh my this place was absolutely packed . The staff did a good job the people that ate there were rowdy . The line to get your food cooked was long and everyone kept letting their aunts and uncles and cousins and parents you get it cut in line . There should not be spot holds . Anyways do not leave the line because they call out your bowl right before going in the grill if it's not claimed right away they put it to the side and it does not get cooked. Will I be going back more than likely not ...the food and staff are great just ambience changed .

Great place to eat with a great selection! I loved the grill section of the restaurant and being able to choose whatever I wanted and have it cooked right in front of me. They have a great selection of veggies and meats to choose from. They also have a great hot and cold bar with a good selection of other foods as well such as fruits, fried chicken and fish, salmon, mussels, crawfish, spring rolls, fried, etc. They even have an ice cream station and an assortment of desserts. The service was fast, great, and friendly. The restaurant was neat and clean. I was definitely full and satisfied when I left!

Food was very good and the price is reasonable. I enjoy the atmosphere different. The wait staff was excellent when you come in. The doors it's, it's unusual. Yeah two entries the cooks were pleasant. The bathrooms was clean. You're fish on the hot at bar was a little salty. But it was good. The chef's was phenomenal The girl at the front, explained it pretty good. Thank you Gobi Grill Don't lose your flavor.

Get ready for a Mongolian feast! This is hands-down the best Mongolian food in the area, and we're not just saying that--your taste buds will agree! Fresh Ingredients Galore Start with a lovely selection of vegetables for the grill, piled high with your favorite proteins and sauces. Watch as it's cooked to sizzling perfection right before your eyes. Crispy Fried Foods Bar Craving something crispy? The fried foods bar has all your guilty pleasures waiting for you. Sweet Treats & Desserts Save room for the dessert bar and ice cream section--it's pure joy in every scoop and slice. Cozy Soups Warm your soul with a variety of soups to kick off your meal or wrap it up with comfort. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the service is a delight, and the overall experience is truly fantastic. If you're looking for a meal that's fresh, fun, and utterly satisfying, this is your spot! Come hungry, leave happy!

Glad to see that another Mongolian grill has opened in Raleigh. We definitely needed another option in this area. They didn't make many changes to the interior so it does look a bit dated. We were seated quickly & our server was very attentive with our drinks. This is self service with a hot bar, cold bar & a separate area for the Mongolian grill selections. Hot bar selections were mainly fried items like wings, fries, fried fish etc... The cold bar had salads & dessert items as well as a separate dip your own ice cream. The grill area had a good variety of noodles, veggies & proteins. You choose what you'd like & they'll cook it on the grill for you. The only thing that would've made it better is if we were able to tailor the sauces on our own & if there were more variety in this area. This was all done for us by one of the staff members behind the counter. The beef was also on the tough side. Overall it was pretty good & imho better than the other places in town.

Yes sir!!! Fresh, delicious these people have everything Profitts fruits and vegetables, the fried fish and chicken to the cleanest Mongolian bar you ever seen.. The restaurant is very clean. They have two big televisions to watch. They sell lunch until 4 PM. It's only 1299 at 4 PM 1699. Four chicken legs and chicken breast to go into the Mongolian food. They have smoked sausages. They bring a couple of ice, but you don't need it. Fresh muscles. The host was very nice and they have someone here to clean up your tables as you eat. A couple dollars, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

First five stars for the amazing friendly and happy staff! There were no problems with refilling drinks or rice as many times we wanted! You'll find a soup, appetizer and dessert buffet that have the classic Chinese finger food like spring rolls, crab Rangoon, etc. than head to the Mongolian buffet and you will have all the fresh and clean options to create your dish.Everything was delish.

Very friendly service and delicious food! All for a good price. The food selection for the grill is great. You choose the veggies and meat and they cook/add the sauces. Give this place a try!!

So: I kept to a two plate limit - actually brought both plates with me on the initial fillup so that I didn't have to go back - but for just $2 more you get anything you want. The pricing structure is reasonable, allowing less food for a single plate and the ability to bring home if you can only eat a small amount of a plate (there are such people, trust me). Other than water chestnuts they were stocked with every food listed on the tray. Wasn't sure on the meats but the seafood was definitely prefrozen. Not the levels of food I'm used to at Mongolian grill. (okay, it's been 20 years since I used to Fire & Ice, that's my last memory). But the cooked food? All's well that ends tasty. I did go for the frozen seafood and enjoyed a plethora of mussels, squid, and octopus (I kept the shrimp out). Went veggie by veggie on plate #1 to meet the most authentic mix I could manage (a lot of American tastes in the "buffet"). Plate #2 was a heap of seafood and 1 or 2 other things that didn't fit with the veggies. Got it all fried up with a generous amount of hot oil to impart heat and taste. Woo. And I noticed too late there are spices on the end of the buffet, but I think I'd rather have my sesame seeds sprinkled raw on top (extra flavor) compared to roasted and mixed in. So that worked in my favor. Staff attended to refilling my drink, good. We actually didn't walk out with a single bite left on our plates, or a single ounce of hunger left in our stomachs. There you have it: a decent change from most NC fare, and you won't be standing in line to enjoy it.

Thoughts of cross contamination and meats sitting out was concerning. Upon arrival I looked over the bar. Everything appeared properly chilled directly on an iced Buffett station. The Raw meats were separate from the vegetables. Each item had its own utensils in its container. I went with the two bowls for 16.99. I used one bowl for meats. After cooked the grilling station individual added fried rice that I requested. My other bowl was for veggies with Lo Mein noodles. A veggie lo mein was my thought process. There was a decent variety of vegetables. I topped both bowls with light garlic oil and Mongolian sauce before taking it over to be cooked. Everything had a smoky grill flavor and it was mildly spiced since I didn't use much. I enjoyed it! I had plenty of leftovers that I brought home. The buffet bar: all of shrimp did not appear properly deveined. I do not recommend the shrimp. I enjoyed: spicy chicken , regular chicken, beef and pork. All were very good with my fried rice. I found that I needed more light directly above my table. It was very dim. Overall, no other complaints. I am glad I tried Crazy Fire and had my own experience. Crazy Fire was a quiet and offbeat vibe that I actually enjoyed. Two meals under $20 with leftovers is a real deal.

You fill up each bowl with whatever meats, vegetables, sauces and seasonings they have available at the bar. You walk your raw ingredients to the Mongolian stove and they cook it for you. After it's cooked they will plate it for you and ask if you want white or brown (which I think is just simple rice just seasoned with soy) and hand you your plate and you can take it to your table to eat it. They had noodles on the bar so I did noodles and stuff first. The second time I just did protein and veggies and then got my rice after it was cooked and had fried rice. It's a decent price for decent food. I would possibly visit again.

I was hoping for tofu and shrimp or fish, well I couldn't just get that and add it to my bowl, it's a whole complexity that doesn't need to exist, also I am charged extra for it. They were out of tofu, calimari and scallops. I could only get lil cocktail/salad shrimp and imitation crab(fish), which cost me $5 extra to get a mix of both. LoL The house sauce was like water, it didn't add to the flavor of the food. I even asked for extra, and it came back just 'wetter' and not anymore flavorful. I honestly, didn't like this place with its needless complexity, pointless extra charges on alternative protein options (get this... noodles are an extra add-on too!). I'm a hard skip on this restaurant.
