I had the Billy Burger, and it was absolutely spot-on--cooked to perfection and I loved every juicy, flavorful bite. The seasoning was well-balanced, the patty hearty, and the toppings fresh. My wife had the Doe Burger, and she's still talking about it. It's not often you find a burger that makes you pause mid-bite to say, "Wow." That's the Billy Burger. The service was impeccable--our waitress was attentive, upbeat, and made us feel right at home. The entire staff was genuinely friendly, and you could tell they take pride in their work. The owner even came by to check on our table, and his hospitality sealed the experience. You don't often find that kind of care anymore. The restaurant itself is spotless, with a clean, inviting atmosphere that feels like a breath of fresh air. And considering the generous portions, the pricing was very reasonable--a great value for a great meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Goat House Grill is worth the stop. This charming restaurant in Neva is worth the detour if you happen to be near by. Local flavors with the perfect amount of southern charm and gourmet flare. This couple lost their business in Hurricane Helene. The community came together to help them rebuild and they boy did they come back with a bang! Goat Yard Grill is an ok place to grab basic lunch or dinner. They do have a variety of menu items for most palates. Salads are meh like the rest of the flavor of their menu. Their salads are basic like most restaurants so it's not an overly hit compared to most restaurants. Keep in mind that Goat Yard Grill and two more restaurants in the Mountain City area are the only restaurants worth positively writing about. The 3-star is equitable with the other two restaurants. Food is good and the drink pours are good. Wait staff is ok. It's a good local watering hole w/food. Live music is a nice touch to this eclectic grill. I'll be a repeat customer. This spot was recommended to us several times by locals and we were not disappointed! On a Friday night, the bar was hopping and the vibe was fun. But the food was even better! Mountain City/Creston can now add one more above average restaurant to its very limited selection! The Goat Yard Grill offers a great selection of contemporary food, and finally, a full bar. My daughter and I had the Pesto and Burrata Chicken sandwich with waffle fries and my wife ordered a Prime Rib Quesadilla. All of our meals were delicious which we then followed up with Cheesecake and Chocolate Tort. The service was very good and the owners were very gracious. YESSS this place is so good! We sat at the bar & enjoyed the fried green tomato app & the beer cheese dip with fries. Incredible flavor on both, unique take on classic dishes. From service to food, is there anything these folks do poorly? NO! The Pesto & Burrata Chicken Sandwich was phenomenal! Tender, juicy, sweet.... best I've ever had. May I rave about the onion rings? REAL onion rings, cut nice and thick, crispy-fried but in no way greasy.... I didn't have to wipe my hands on the napkin after each bite, and when you bite them, you get the bite. The rest of the onion doesn't pull out, leaving you with batter. Each bite of onion ring is exactly how it should be! You need to make this a permanent frequent stop for lunch or dinner! read more

Stopped in for a bite to eat after passing this place several times on the way to Boone. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent too! It was pretty drizzly, but it looked like they had a really cool outdoor seating area as well. Will definitely be returning. Quick note, we overheard that the kitchen closes about an hour before their actual closing time, but they still serve drinks/cocktails until close. Cool place! read more
