Clean facilities but do not use them. I rented a small unit and within several months they doubled the monthly rate. I see units double the size charging less than the new rate for my small unit, but now know they will double it if I switch to a larger unit. Also we have experienced the insurance scam others have written about, avoid this if you don't want to get scammed. read more

What's even more amazing is a woman in a locker two away from mine with the exact same size unit just had an increase and hers was $150 per month no consistency in what they charge each renter. I was being charged over $200 and I had provided proof of insurance when I first rented looking at their invoice they have been charging insurance the entire time I was renting. BEWARE!! This is a horrible facility. I had to flee SC after placing my belongings in storage as a victim of domestic violence. This facility continues to raise your rates every few months and out sources "insurance" to a company that does not answer the phone or return messages. I was charged $45 per month x 8 months for insurance when I already have private renters insurance. They have had proof of my coverage on file since I first rented a unit there. They refused to refund my money for the fraudulent charges stating that it is outsourced and they cannot refund my money. After almost a year of fighting with them, numerous phone calls asking to speak with a supervisor, no staff onsite and never getting a refund for the over charges, they auctioned off my belongings today while I was on the phone with their call center trying to speak to someone that could help me. This entire situation has been cruel and heartbreaking! Please take your business elsewhere!! PS, I left a review on Google reviews 3 months ago. The GSI team responded 2 months ago that they would look into my account. They did nothing to address their fraudulent charges. I was told today before the auction was scheduled to begin that there was nothing they could do to stop the auction, but they would put in another request for a supervisor to call me back. This is a horrible company to do business with. They over charged me for months for insurance, when I already had renters' insurance on file. They do not return phone calls and will auction off your belonging if you don't continue to pay for insurance you do not need. They continue to say that they outsource the insurance and cannot refund your account, but the insurance company does not answer messages so you will never be reimbursed for the fees that you are coerced into paying to keep your stuff from being sold off. I walked in during open hours to purchase a storage unit and nobody was at the desk. I waited about 10 minutes and nobody ever came into the room, there was no sign saying that someone was out and would be back shortly, there was no doorbell or way to alert anyone that I was there. So I left after waiting for 10 minutes. They lost a customer. I would suggest hiring more people so that someone can always be at the front desk. read more

I made a reservation this morning for a unit at this facility based on two things, price and the fact that the reviews were glowing about the manager. When I went to finish signing up for the unit there was no manager on site, he was yelling at me from a virtual screen inside an small lobby. The pictures on their ad show a nice office made to be manned by a real person, very deceiving. Did not make me happy but we continued until we got down to the price. My reservation sheet that I printed this morning gave me a price of $32 a month with a $25 admin fee. The charge sheet there had me charged with insurance, which I did not need their add says they take home owner's insurance. The admin fee was more because of selling us a lock, we did not need and he said their fees changed last week. At that point I said I was done. We came there because of the advertised fees and because of the glowing reviews. None of what is advertised is valid, not even the photos. read more
