This company has literally attempted to bribe me to take down my previous review. I am sure I am not the first person. I'd like to emphasize that yes, they did deliver my items within the contracted time that I agreed to (1-31 days), but the way that they have handled everything does not mean that I recommend them or that I would use them again. There are probably other vendors that could do the same service, but I would recommend them as opposed to this particular company. This was the email I got from them: Hello Mrs. Gomez. I was trying to call you for a couple of days now with no success. I'm writing you in regard to your move and the following review you posted about our company. I never knew you had this kind of experience and if I had known about it earlier it would have been resolved. I can offer you a $500 refund towards your move as compensation. If you will be willing to take the review down and not post any other reviews now or in the future. I replied back: Alex, It is so nice to have your direct contact information, for the first time ever. It would have been very useful to have this when I was trying to actually get a hold of you during the course of the move. At no point did you ever give this to me. I fail to see how you have been trying to "call me for a couple days now". Your company has contacted me twice. Both yesterday via phone at 11:39am and 2:17pm. I was busy both times. Your assessment of "a couple days now" is in error. I received a voicemail from "Benny" the first time asking to "speak to [me] about something". That was it. I am not in the habit about returning phone calls to people I have never talked to about "something", so you have to forgive me for not returning the call. I find it shocking that you did not know that I was dissatisfied with your company, as I expressed it several times by phone to you and other employees over the course of the ten days saga when I started to try to get a hold of you, until my items were finally delivered. I also cannot BELIEVE that you were so rude to me on the phone and that you are owning up to absolutely no responsibility for what happened. I am amazed that in this day and age, you don't understand how your lack of customer service and attitude would be consequence-free. I am also appalled that you would dare compromise my integrity by offering me $500 and offering to wire it into my account, like I would give you my account information ever. I am concerned that you have done this to other customers and rather than look inward to reform your practices or especially yourself. I won't even remotely consider taking down that review, and I am literally about to update the review to tell them that you attempted to bribe me unless I speak to someone that I KNOW is higher in the chain of command than you are. We are not bad people. we are just movers, hard working men. we sold you a product and delivered EXACTLY as promised in writing. Why are you so dismissive to a peace offering? Update: 07/17/14 Spoke to the Owner/Manager Alex today in regards to my issues, and he is working very fast to resolve them and make us happy. This includes reimbursement for our lost/damaged items as well as making sure that we were fairly charged. While a few of the people in the office are pretty nice to deal with...this place is a complete nightmare. Lets count the ways that they failed in my cross country move: 1) Double charged my debit card for the initial payment on pickup - a mere $1800. Took 4 days and about 5 phone calls to get credited back to my account. 2) Told me two different totals due on delivery, insisted on me paying the higher amount, despite having a electronic receipt showing the lower amount. Called back 3 days later and said that they "found" the difference (after it was already paid in cash). Still waiting for that credit. 3) Delivery! I was told that it was ok to schedule some services (DirectTV) for 7/8 as my stuff should be there by then. My things arrived on 7/13...and only after I had to pick up the contractor, who's truck broke down a few blocks from my house, drive him to rent a UHaul, and unload my own belongings into the house. 4) Still working through the list, but already missing are a video game console and our large cat treehouse was completely destroyed. None of my items appear to be handled with any care whatsoever. read more

Moving day started OK although the truck was unmarked and as soon as all my things were on the truck the driver started marking up the paperwork and told me the price went to $6850. from $1675. This included $1765. worth of tape. (I packed all of my things in boxes before the movers came) I told him this is ridiculous and suggested unloading the truck. He told me they could not do that and would have to take it to Sacramento. The driver then offered $5000. as long as I tipped his guys $100. each. Having few options and all my personel belongings on his truck I agreed. ( I have the $400. canceled check) After they left I realized how they played their scam and that I was ripped off for around $2500. When the moving van got to my new address, They unloaded quickly and were out in 1 hour. One hour later I realized they did not deliver 1 large wardrobe box with all of my clothes, custom cushions for my patio furniture, a coleman stove new in the box, an antique mirror. I called the driver immediately, He told me he would check the truck when he stops and call me back. Of course, no call. I called the go pro office and they basically said "dont call us , we will call you". I told them that all of my clothes were in the box, suits, sport coats, shirts, slacks, ties, belts. Our family had to do a cross country move from California to Chicago. We were worried how it all would work out with us having to drive with a dog and a toddler in tow. We checked on a lot of options and Go Pro was our logical choice. It was a rough experience on the pick up of our belongings from storage. But the delivery was much better, our stuff arrived very quickly, and the driver Edward was very communicative and professional. Go Pro has commendable customer service relations. Do NOT use this company. This review is based on my 2 bedroom home and family move from Seattle to Detroit. Their front office was very helpful and responsive during the estimate and pricing process. I couldn't have asked for more from Jessi regarding customer service. Problems began when I called Go Pro the day before they were due to pickup. Bear in mind that my move had been scheduled for Saturday 1/24/15 for over 6 weeks. I called Go Pro the day before, so I could arrange a time slot for their pickup the next day. Jessi said that she'd call me back. When Jessi called me back, she told me that they couldn't pickup before Tuesday 1/27. Given that I had planned my family's move to Detroit around a move date of 1/24, I was not happy. I'd left my job, my wife and two small children had flown on ahead to Detroit, my dad had flown out from England to drive my 2nd car out to Detroit with me....the list goes on. I called Go Pro and asked to speak to a manager. When I spoke to a manager, they told me that 1/27 wasn't even available as a move date, they could do 2/2/15 at best!! There was zero compassion and zero apology. Surely, any moving company worth their salt must realize that they're greatly impacting the lives of the people they move! Luckily, I had gotten quotes from several other companies, and I called Hercules Moving Co. They managed to fit my move in on the Sunday 1/25/15 (one day after originally planned). THEY were professional, on time, and great to work with. They saved me a huge amount of time, money and time away from from family who had already left for Detroit. read more

Several things about our experience were very bad: 1) After loading the leader couldn't remember where they began loading from to measure the volume from, he estimated and ended up charging us ~$900 additional for volume upon unloading we proved we did not use. It took us over 1.5 months to actually get the refund. 2) They damaged my door way badly while trying to get a sofa out of it. They had two guys pushing as hard as could be. The leader came over, made a slight adjustment and it slipped right out. The insurance did not cover the damage to the house. 3) They lost a bag although they claim all were delivered. One was not. The insurance of course gave pennies on the dollar. 4) They broke furniture, they broke a desk, a TV stand, and 2 of 4 kitchen table chairs. Additionally several things in the boxes were broken. I found them standing on a box and crushing it while trying to load. Of course insurance did not cover the items broken in the boxes as "they were self packed." 5) They were early to the agreed upon drop off time, my wife rushed home and got there 15 minutes after them and was charged ~$200 for being late. The actual moving team did not show up for 3 hours to actually unpack the truck. 6) The packing materials were a rip off. We were not told that all sofa's had to be wrapped with plastic and tape, nor the desks and other furniture. Plus a box for 2 mirrors and a painting were $80 each for a "crate" that was no more than a box that was heavily taped. they even charged us for a mirror box and packing that they left at the house (and never actually packed, the mirror was sitting next to the box). Of course we got refunded (1.5 months later) for that box... but the mirror was given to a friend as it was too late to move or sell. Overall we paid ~$750 for 4 boxes, wrapping material, and tape. 7) Upon drop off they demanded we pay with a cashier's check. They gave us 1 day notice of that. 8) The overall price was 110% higher than their estimate. 9) they would not give us any of the refunds we mentioned above until we signed a form saying we would not sue them for more. Seems like a set up... rip you off so you agree to that to get your money back before you find all the stuff missing and broken. Very Displeased overall. Lesson learned... get a in person quote so it is accurate and get the upgraded insurance... oh, and don't use these guys. read more

Worst Company to move with, dont hire them. My stuff still hasn't shipped. The person who is supposed to coordinate my move never picks up my phone. This happened right after I had paid them. Plus the guy they sent asked me a lot more which means that either they underestimated the cost - or the guy try to gouge me for more money. read more

The website claims are out of American Fork 125 East American Fork is a UPS Store so its a mail drop. not happy with the company's professionalism, no communication. Bid ver the phone is inaccurate and anything over the bid they charge you a higher rate. be very careful in dealing with these guys. We hired this company to move across country from California to the NorthEast and we were perfectly happy with the initial move. The movers who picked up our stuff were very friendly and worked extremely fast but we still felt very comfortable with them handling and packing our belongings. The original quote was increased quite a bit when our belongings were tallied up, but I guess that was to be expected (we had a lot of stuff). We arrived at the destination within 5 days and were told that our stuff would arrive within 7-10 days of when they picked it up in California. After about 8 or 9 days we emailed our sales contact to get an update on the arrival of our stuff, and he said it would be "soon", and that we would get a call when the truck was 24 hours away. After about 2 weeks (2 weeks in a house without any furniture and very little of anything else), we started getting restless. Every few days we would contact them to see what the time frame was looking like and we never really got any real information, just "soon". After about 3 weeks they finally admitted that our belongings were being loaded onto the truck...in California!! So it was yet another week until the truck arrived. A total of 4 weeks (yes, within the 31 days promised, but just barely) and we finally got our stuff. And again, the movers were very friendly and quick and handled our belongings with care, BUT there were a few furniture items that were damaged and/or broken, along with a lot of broken plates and glasses (the box marked FRAGILE was the most damaged-looking box of all). Also, our surround sound was mysteriously missing and another box missing as well. We are still waiting to hear back from the insurance company on whether any compensation will be given to us. So, can't complain about the movers and their work ethic, BUT the length of time and mis-communication was inexcusable. It made an already-stressful experience even MORE stressful. I just used go pro Van Lines for my move and am a satisfied customer. Their customer service representatives were quick to provide me with a quote and very pleasant to talk to on the phone. The movers showed up ahead of schedule, which was a huge help as I was in a bit of a time crunch with my move. They packed everything up for me, protecting it with moving blankets and got it out of my house without dinging the walls. They even moved my motorcycle for me, which seems to be a expensive pain with most other moving companies. They are by far the most professional and least expensive moving company I have found to date. read more

We are a military family and went with go pro to move from California to georgia we were hit with nothing but problems from this company. I made sure and inventoried extra things to ensure we had enough room on the truck for our belongings. We were quoted 2900$ which we paid ALL up front. When the movers arrived two hours late they told us our stuff was triple the amount of space and we needed close to 5k to move. They showed me a piece of tape on the BUDGET truck and told me that was my 800 cu ft. I didn't see how that was so, so I called budget and they informed me that the inside dimensions of that truck were 1350... Uhh should have been getting half the truck. When I confronted the movers on this I was called a bitch in Spanish and they denied everything. They decided to take a break after only moving two things for over a half hour after already being 2 hours late. Go pro person named Emma told me for 400$ more dollars they would move everything even the things I didn't inventory...the drivers said they would only move my inventory. One man fell asleep in my chair in my garage and joked that he gets paid by the hour, while the other was smoking cigarettes in my garage. I ended up agreeing to the extra 400$ at the end of the packing the guys said they would crumble up the paper for the tape and Saran Wrap that I used and if I paid them under the table they would only charge me half which I did. And after they left I noticed the chairs they had helped themselves to in my garage were gone... Well my belongings just arrived after waiting a month and guess what...no chairs to be found... This company charged me more than originally quoted. They explained that because furniture sizes vary, this can happen--understandable. I also had damage to my furniture when it arrived. When I notified the company, they did send me all the insurance forms, I was promised a call the next day, but James was tied up and he emailed me to call him. I then spoke to a manager, Alex, and he assured me that they would resolve this, even outside of the insurance, because their company did not operate this way. I have spoken to them a few times since the incident and they are reimbursing me for a reasonable amount of damages, so I am happy with the outcome. read more

DON'T TRUST GO PRO! THEY ARE THE WORSE MOVERS EVER! They lost a 5 Feet by 8 Feet framed photo of mine!!!!! How could anybody lose something so LARGE?????? On top of that, they have never paid me a penny or even refunded the extra money they charged me to crate it!!!! Now, they don't take my calls at all. The phone just hangs up on me when I call. In the past I have left message after message and they don't return my calls. I have sent numerous e-mails and they are never returned. Now they have blocked me from sending e-mails at all. My 5 foot by 8 foot framed photo was taken from my home in June of 2014... and now March of 2015 they have made no attempt to find it or pay me for my loss. On top of that I had antique furniture that arrived with broken legs, cracks and scratches. Many dishes that were broken. And they took apart my antique piano in such a rediculous way that I am having to hire an antique piano expert to put it back together again. They also arrived for my delivery a week late - and with only one male mover and one female mover. They claimed they couldn't find anyone to help them unload their truck. My girlfriends had to come over and help unload the truck til almost midnight because otherwise they threatened to leave. It was insane!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE. They do not even try to find what is lost OR STOLEN. They will not even face what they have done and have the decency to answer the phone or e-mail. WHATEVER YOU DO.... FIND ANOTHER MOVER. For our coast-to-coast move, the movers arrived on time, and were courteous and professional. They worked hard, carefully securing our items and labelling boxes so nothing would be lost. There was a discrepancy between the estimated volume and the actual volume after the truck was loaded, but I discussed this with the office after the move was completed, and we were compensated to our satisfaction. I commend Nathan, Benny, and Alex for resolving the issue to the satisfaction of all parties. I was always able to contact someone in the office when I had questions or concerns. The articles in our shipment arrived in good condition, and the crew on the receiving end were super-efficient. The entire process from loading the truck in Washington State to unloading the truck in New York took only six days! The movers unloaded and unpacked our stuff in only a couple of hours and, again, were very professional and hard-working. Yeah, there are always some bumps in the road, and people are generally quicker to complain about service than praise it, but we had a satisfactory experience with Go Pro Vanlines. As long as you ask the crew to check the total volume before the truck is loaded, and you are fully aware of the cost of packing materials, we would recommend this company. read more

I used their services last December (2013) to move from CA to VA. First of lets not call them a moving company. They are not like United which will be solely responsible from packing, picking to actual delivery. Go Pro is more like a contracting and managing company which will contract these services out and have minimal or no control over their contractors or third parties We chose the full packing service for our move with Go Pro PROS: The guys who packed and put my things in the truck knew exactly what they were doing and did an excellent job of making sure everything was packed up correctly and would not break during transit. Majority of everything arrived to the new location in one piece. CONS: Though the representative that I booked the move on the phone with was very helpful, he was most of the times unable to answer many of my questions once my stuff was picked up and was apparently being transported across the country. NOTE: my stuff arrived three weeks later than originally promised and for that time I had to first extend my stay at a hotel and then once I had my new apartment ready to move in, sleep in an empty apartment on the floor, highly unprofessional and disappointing considering the fact that I had paid through my nose for the move. I had to keep haranguing him about the current location of my goods and they couldn't provide me with an answer as they had not way of communicating or contacting the driver or tracking the truck (surprise!, it was being contracted to a third party maybe unknown to them at that time) So my advice is to stay away from them and use the services of professional moving companies like United who perform an in person assessment of you things, provide a highly accurate quote and are in charge of everything from start to finish. read more

The worst part is that we have been lied to on no less than THREE occasions by this company--each time we have been told our stuff has been loaded onto a truck and is on its way only to call back a couple days later to be told that it hasn't been loaded yet. Wow, what a nightmare! I chose GoPro Vanlines as they seemed to be the economical decision. I was moving from Seattle, WA to Dallas, TX. They quoted me $5k on the move and then doubled my total after they arrived and started to tell me that I had way to much stuff and that they would need a second truck. Dear Sir, I find it difficult to talk about this subject but after sleeping on it and thinking about the issues I find it best that you are aware of the movers that are working for you. Just a little background on me so you understand where I am coming from. I spent a little over 11 years in the Army and moved many times with them. We also have relocated with my current job so I do know what to expect on a move, more or less. Yesterday the crew that showed up were late. They called me a couple of times to tell me that they were still running late. Our appointment was between 10am - 12pm, they arrived a little after 2:30pm. Upon arrival the foreman Carlos proceeded to do the walk through. Upon completion of the walk through Carlos told me that he was going to need another truck and that this was going to be over triple the estimate. I told him that I disagreed and that there was no way that this would take another truck. To me this sounds right off the bat as another tactic that is used to ensure that there is no option for the customer but to accept the extra charges. When this was completed I told him that we had moved with a truck the same size locally and only filled it up because we had a lot more stuff. This time we sold our washer and dryer, queen sleeper sofa, loveseat, sectional among many other items. I understand the whole concept of charging by space, but if this is the way that your company operates instead of by weight then the crew that is hired should all be professionals. There were 2 guys in the crew that looked like they represented your company, the other two guys didn't look like they worked for your company, in fact one of the guys seemed to do more standing around that work. I was very surprised when I walked outside to see one of the guys eating the ice cream that I bought for my daughter, then to see that they had just helped themselves to my freezer and to eat what they wanted shocked me. I have no problem sharing, but I never expect someone to just walk into my house and start taking things without asking. I had bought some cigarettes for me and my wife and as we don't smoke in the house I leave them in my lawn chair in the garage...well to my surprise they helped themselves to smoke my cigarettes while they were at my house without asking and then I noticed that after they left that they had taken my other pack. The reason that I mention this is because I feel that I have to be able to trust these people as they are in every room and they don't all start in one place and work their way through the house, they just pick random spots or rooms to grab things and this makes it impossible for me to watch them and ensure that they are actually doing their jobs or if they are shopping through my house. When you see things as this in person you begin to have doubts about peoples honesty. As I am on a tight schedule I had to paint the walls a week prior to the movers showing up and I made sure that they were done on time and that the landlord was happy with the fixes, of which he was very happy that I had taken the time and done this as he was bringing people to view the property daily. So all the time and money that I spent doing this work went down the toilet with your crew as there are many scrapes, black marks on the wall, little holes in the wall, missing molding at the front entrance. Then the stains on the carpets that they created. I know that the carpet isn't perfect, but I do know that my landlord was happy that there weren't any major defects. Now I have stains that I am going to have to pay extra for carpet cleaning and stain removal. After all of this I was not able to see all of the items that they charged me for packing as there was no way for me to be in 3 rooms at one time. Then to tell me that they have to charge me extra to "Crate" my living room table and end table is beyond me. I have had these tables since 2005 and they have moved 4 times so far with never having to be crated, but as using blankets to wrap them doesn't earn more money I can see their desire to find as much as they can to make the extra money, after all they are here to make a profit, or so it seems. As we ran out of boxes at the end and I was trying to watch them as much as possible there were a few items that they just "forgot" to take and then when my wife found some smaller items she asked them to sell her a box so she could pack it. They refused as they said that they had packed all of the material already and that it was to hard to get to, well I thought that this was a moving company and that they are being paid for a service? Hear the phrase "you get what you pay for"? I hired Go Pro after researching cost between using a commercial moving company vs. renting a truck to move myself from Oregon to Texas. At first my coordinator seemed to know her stuff; bottom line I have never used a commercial moving company, I trusted them to give me what I THOUGHT would be an accurate space estimate. I was very accurate on my inventory in terms of furniture. Looking back on it, maybe one red flag would have been there were no questions asked like, "how big are your two ceramic kilns", "how large is the air compressor", "how large is the sand blasting cabinet/equipment"....at one point I asked how much space I would save leaving my couch and love seat behind (this should have been my second red flag - quoted for 600 cubic feet) the answer was I would save only 200 cubic feet leaving those two items, or $225; considering I had a two bedroom condo, lots of working equipment, furniture, and a 10x10 storage unit we had discussed, and I had NO visual of how much 600 cubic feet was....this was a DISASTER! Moving day came, the truck driver asked seeing my garage if I had discussed all the items needing to be moved with my coordinator? I told him yes, and I had a storage unit. He said "no, it won't all fit". He said the two kilns alone would take more thab 200 cubic feet of space (so, couch and love seat, 2 kilns = 2/3 estimated space, and this was just the start.) I had a job waiting for me in Texas; I emailed my coordinator, she replied that if it were just 100-200 cubic feet off, they may be able to "cut me a deal"...they were more than 50% off my moving estimate. As a result, I still have a 10x10 storage unit filled to the brim with things I couldn't afford to take; I had to find a last minute home for industrial sewing machine ($900), pottery wheel ($700), sand blasting cabinet/equipment ($400), air compressor ($450) and other stuff that I couldn't store and couldn't afford to bring because my estimate was so far off. When I was filling out my paperwork, I was selecting the insurance to be reimbursed actual replacement value; my driver said "no, no...that will be VERY expensive; $350-$500 for what you have. Most people are very happy with the company provided insurance". Had I not been so stressed and upset about everything else, I probably would have realized that meant I was accepting IF anything got damaged, I was accepting 60 cents per pound reimbursement IF they accepted my claim.....more to come on that later. When I got to Texas, I called Alex; he hung up on my three times, threatened not to deliver my things because I was a bad customer (he kept talking over me, wouldn't let me explain why I was calling, and kept hanging up, so I was talking loudly back to him), he told me I could come to California to their warehouse and pick up my thing IF I COULD FIND THEM (bear in mind, my mother heard this whole conversation....)....after we did get a chance to talk, he said he would call me back the next day (Tuesday July 18), I never heard back from him, nor did he take any of my calls, or return my messages. Fast forward to delivery. I emailed to make arrangements to get my things delivered and was told I would hear from dispatch in a few days; 8 days goes by and I hear nothing. I call back, and am told again, when they get ready to deliver, they will call. Almost two weeks goes by, I email, I finally get a call and they tell me to call back ASAP about my delivery. That was on a Thursday. I called back that afternoon, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - no one ever returned my calls. All I got is what sounded like a personal answering machine. The driver finally makes a delivery (will spare all the mishaps with the in-betweens here) and it isn't any wonder they suggest the low coverage insurance. My newer leather couch frame is broken. My newer leather love seat frame is broken. My dresser my father made me is damaged as well as the other piece of furniture I brought. All of my boxes are round and no longer square. Most of my dishes are damaged. I had a new crock pot, still packed in it's original box, broken? I know how to pack things; I used double layer news print from packing supply; double wall boxes, filled to the brim with packing materials. I marked things fragile - almost everything that was fragile, doesn't exist anymore. I spent all the money I had to get my things here. I relied on what I thought was an experienced coordinator to somewhat accurately estimate my costs and space needs; I am 2100 miles away from home with not even 1/2 of my belongings with no money to get the rest of my things here. What I did have, is damaged and broken, with insurance to MAYBE grant me $200 at 60 cents a pound. I have moved several times locally and had terrible experiences. This was my first out of state move and I chose to use Go Pro Vanlines. I was not looking forward to dealing with a moving company given past experiences, but I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received from Go Pro. James was my moving consultant, and he was extremely helpful and kind to me. I was very stressed during this move, as most folks are, and he did his best to help where he could. He returned my phone calls promptly and offered me the best prices where applicable (packing materials etc). On move day, the movers showed up on time and with a semi-truck. They worked quickly, efficiently, and wrapped/crated all items I needed. It was fascinating to watch them pack the truck...it's like a game of Tetris! I was very involved in the estimate process which was over the phone and was quoted a good price. When you move out of state the price becomes variable based on cubic feet used not hours of labor like when you move locally. I was quoted based on the information that I had provided over the phone. On move day, the cubic feet that I actually used was more than what we had estimated so my move price was almost double what my quote was. Keep in mind, I did have to pay for packing materials, which I knew ahead of time. Naturally, I was pretty upset about this and I complained to the company regarding the inaccurate quote I received. Benny refunded me quite a bit of money for my trouble, which I appreciated. As I think back on it now, I realize that it is what it is...I had more stuff (size-wise) than what we had estimated, and to move my belongings cost what it cost. Bottom line, this move experience was one of the best I have had not including the price discrepancy. The customer service was great, the movers were on time, careful and efficient and my stuff arrived in good condition and on time. A few things were broken (small items) but that is to be expected when you move across the United States, so I wasn't that upset. To all those one and two star folks...be THANKFUL they never got back to you. We unfortunately DID hire GoPro. The total price for our move was $17,430.00. Keep that in mind as you read about OUR nightmare. We had 3 trucks. When truck # 1 and 2 showed up...the only way for us to be able to get our stuff unloaded is to give them the final payment. They said truck #3 was just a 'few hours' behind them. Telling time is not their forte... It showed up 3 DAYS later. During those 3 days we had to re-arrange travel plans and coordinate additional time off to accommodate THEIR schedule. The ZINGER that their Insurance Company should be impressed with...when the third truck finally arrived, it was NOT a GoPro employee, but a contract driver who spent an additional hour driving around to local home improvement stores to find cheap labor to unload our stuff. When he had no luck there, he showed up and proceeded to move the trucks contents to the tailgate for My HUSBAND to unload into storage ALL BY HIMSELF!!! It was bad enough he had to HELP them unload truck #2, but HE unloaded truck #3 BY HIMSELF!!! For more detail....please read on: * We gave all the detailed information we could in order to let company know how much we had to move. Emma promised us the world (As our email correspondence shows). * We were given a flat rate of $12,000.00 for a LIVE move. (A live move is when they pick up and take off right away to the new location.) This price included 2 x 26 foot trucks. * Upon arrival they quickly announced that a 3rd truck would be needed at an additional cost of $4,000.00. * One of the things you find out when they arrive, even AFTER you've asked a million questions PRIOR to their arrival, is "what other costs are involved?" They assured us all our costs were in the flat rate price. What they don't tell you about is 'crating'...at THEIR discretion. If they feel a piece needs to be wrapped even more than what we already had blanketed and wrapped, they charge you...anywhere from $50 - 250.00 an item to perform this 'service' for you....which accounts for an additional $1250 that was added to our move. * Our grand piano was already included in the original price, but I STILL had to argue with their foreman, Carlos, for a length of time that our piano was ALREADY included. The price for crating it started at $250 and kept coming down from there...and I told him ZERO was what I'd settle for. Eventually, because it was now 11:30 pm - day ONE - he let it go. By the way, GoPro assured us that they were "expert" piano movers. What a joke! * My husband, who was to meet them 1300 miles away, had his flights and everything scheduled to accommodate their schedule. They made it painfully clear that if he was not there when the truck arrived, they would charge an additional $350.00 for each day they had to wait. * They estimated their arrival time at 21 hours from when they drove off...leaving on Monday and arriving the following day. My husband had to pay extra to CHANGE his flight plans. **GoPro arrived on a THURSDAY afternoon!!! ** The same ORIGINAL day my husband was going to arrive! So much for 21 hrs. * Those change of plans based on THEIR calculations unnecessarily cost us extra...and left us wondering why we couldn't charge THEM an additional $350 a day for showing up late. * When trucks #1 & #2 finally showed up, they did NOT have enough workers to unload so my husband had to jump in and HELP unload our piano and heavier items. * Upon opening the trucks, the foreman announced that this was the WORST packing job he had ever seen. He started to question the other driver, who actually helped with the original packing. His response was just to shrug his shoulders. * Our grand piano was laying on one of the corners leaning against an IRREPLACEABLE ANTIQUE BUFFET although it had 4 legs when it left CA, now only 2 remained. It was completely trashed. * Truck #1 and #2 left on a Monday, arrived on a Thursday. Truck #3 that was supposed to be a few hours behind...we assumed that meant ON THAT SAME DAY! * The #3rd truck never arrived that day. * My husband had to wait around ANOTHER TWO DAYS! He called each day to check on the status of the truck. Each day he was assured that they would be there THAT day. Thursday and Friday came and went. Finally Saturday morning he received a call from a contract driver who picked our stuff up in Sacramento. * This so called 'LIVE MOVE' was turning into a joke and cost us in changes to his airline tickets to and fro. Since this was all supposed to be a drop off to our new location and he had booked a round trip flight to return back home and to work. Today at 1:06 PM Well I had a chance of relocating to a different state for steady work. After searching for a moving company, I decided to go with GoPro Vanlines movers. I could not be more pleased with the company. I had tried all kinds of movers but all were out of my price capability. I sent the company an e-mail and was called back within 1 day of my e-mail. I got a call back from James a repersentive of the company he worked with me and understood that we were short on money so he worked with me to get the price that was ok with me. The movers came and wrapped all of my things and put them on the truck, taking care that everything was safe and secure. I would tell anyone that was moving a long distant to use them . I moved from Fresno, CA to Herington, KS and was nervous about my things but James assured me that all would be ok. Beginning with the California pick up, I found the first crew were on time and professional. They carefully blanketed my things and taped what was not secure. There was a slight discrepancy in the square footage of the move but when I called the office to discuss it they corrected the mistake and said they would reverse the over-charge on my account. There were some bumps in the delivery which were resolved to my satisfaction and I commend both the supervisor in the office and the driver Tal Cohen, who organized my delivery to Chicago. Tal was in constant contact with me both prior to the delivery and after to be sure I was happy. Tal had three men bring the items to my home and they were fast, professional and careful with my things. The whole move took just over an hour. When they left I unwrapped my furniture and found everything in great shape. I see some others have had bad experiences but my personal experience was a good one and I would recommend them to others. read more
