Last year, I used Wright Moving Company to move my half-emptied 4,000 sq ft home from Lehi to Salt Lake City. Parts of the furniture went to Pebbles and Twigs in Park City, a consignment shop, and also into a storage space close to my new address. The main guy in charge was professional and experienced. He had a great attitude, too. But the rest of the moving crew was made up of young, inexperienced boys, who received warnings and directions from the main guy throughout the move. Two boys took most of a day to leisurely pack my kitchen cupboards. One boy asked me if I was married, which was inappropriate and intrusive. One of my TVs was broken with a big thumbprint dent on the screen. My expensive pottery was broken and damaged the bookshelf as it fell. The cost of the move, which the owner of the company estimated to be around 2,000.00, ended up costing me over 7,000.00 (after a discount). They didn't have enough trucks, space, or movers, so we had to wait for that. It took two days for the items to be moved, which I attribute to poor planning, disorganization, and inexperienced packers. (I had twice the amount of stuff packed and moved from my house in Maryland, in about five hours in the past.) However, they did a good job moving my sofas up seven flights of stairs because the two sofas didn't fit in the elevator. So, overall, it was a mixed, stressful, and unpleasant experience. Needless to say, they didn't follow-up to ask about my moving experience or ask me for a review of their move. The bottom line is that I would not use them again for my next move, which is coming up in September. read more

I used Wright Moving Company to move my items out of a rental van and into a 10x10 storage unit. I had moved most of the contents of a 2 bedroom house and I was worried that my storage unit was seriously undersized. It turns out that my unit was very undersized but somehow they made it all fit in the storage unit. Consider me impressed. They showed up on time and finished in an hour and didn't stop hustling until the job was done. I love the fact that they didn't have a minimum charge for my small job. We recently used Wright Moving Company to help us with the unloading and unpacking from a long distance move. They were GREAT!! We worked with David, Taylor, and Todd. They were extremely service oriented, and worked together and efficiently to carefully unload our goods in a short time. I really appreciated how attentive they were to where each box needed to go in our home. They didn't mind moving boxes and stuff from one room to another, when I didn't get the original room destination right! Their clear goal was to make sure I was happy with their service. Most importantly, they were 3 strong guys who were able to carry even heavy items carefully throughout our home without any blemishes on our walls (or the boxes). They also unpacked select items and helped us gather up all the used paper and compress it as garbage or recycling. They were able to assist me with a small local move. THey hustled and made you feel like they were trying to get the job completed. My complaint is regarding the finish work. They put the utility shelves screws in upside down I have to now redo them myself. The hourly rate for the move was slightly higher than discussed initially. I would have said something if i realized the shelves were put together incorrectly. I would highly recommend Wright movers. I've had so many moving disasters that it was A pleasant surprise to have Chase & Beau do such a great job. They arrived promptly for my local move and were very professional and courteous. In addition to what I had originally set up with Chase they were also able to help with some last minute heavy items I was unable to handle on my own. One thing that I noticed that some people may not take note was that the inside of their truck was very organized and tidy, I guess that stood out to me only because I've only seen movers have a pile of blankets and items just thrown into a truck along with a crew of people looking at each other waiting to see who makes the initiative to move first. Wright Moving Company did an amazing job for me in my move to Colorado. They were very careful and did not break anything in this move. I had them load 2 large 26' trucks and it happened to be one of the coldest days of the year this year so far. They worked so hard all day, never once complained about how cold it was and stayed until the job was done. They meticulously loaded the trucks so the movers in CO were able to unload them easily. We had scheduled a move with Wright Movers, but the night before at about 6:30 pm I received a call saying their truck was having issues and they would not be able to move us. They rescheduled us for ten days later. Now, if the truck is broken there is nothing you can do about it, I get it. But on the other hand I would expect, most people don't have a ton of flexibility with moving. In most situations you can't just say, "Ok, ten days later, no problem." Most people have a very tight window and other decisions connected to their moving day. For instance I am at a new job with little time off available and what little time I have is being saved for the imminent arrival of a baby in our family. I also need to get out the old house so the buyers can move in. Ten days later was not an option. I would have expected Wright Movers to "Make it Right" by working till midnight or on a weekend, or something like that to get me out of the bind they put me in, but such was not the case. I was told they looked for rental trucks, but none could be had. This was not true as I procured a 26' Uhaul myself and got the job done. I believe the truth was there was no Uhaul conveniently available nearby. The truck I obtained would have been 30 minutes in the other direction for them. Long story short, they caused me a massive nightmare rather than going the extra mile themselves. One last item. When they called to cancel our move the gentleman on the phone also started questioning the things we had to move and indicated he would be raising the price on us. My wife confirmed with me that she had already told him everything that was discussed on this phone call. My wife felt like they were trying to get out of our job since it was a bit further outside their normal operating area, but I can't say that for sure. read more
