I would leave a lower rating if that were possible. We only had five items moved: one bed, a bed frame, two medium-sized dressers, and a shoe rack. What should have been a simple job turned into an extremely frustrating and expensive experience--especially as a pregnant customer. The movers spent an excessive amount of time struggling with the bed frame. They repeatedly acted as though the bolts were too tight or that they didn't have the right tools, and it felt like they were intentionally dragging out the process to increase the total cost. My dad came down to see if they needed help or another tool, and suddenly after nearly an hour and a half they "figured it out." Even then, the bed frame was not properly disassembled; it was bent, damaged, and essentially split in half instead of being taken apart correctly. They then spent another 30 minutes just trying to get the bed out of the house. The remaining smaller items were moved within the next hour or so. In total, the job took about three hours and cost $586, which was absolutely not worth it. The time and price felt heavily inflated. After everything was delivered, the movers had to call their boss, yet they did not stop the charge clock for an additional 20 minutes while waiting for him to answer. As a pregnant customer, this added stress, lack of efficiency, and disregard for fairness was unacceptable. I would not recommend this company, especially for anyone who expects honesty, efficiency, or consideration. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with moving. The guys were NOT careful with my furniture AT ALL! They damaged several of my wood furniture pieces. I had to move temporarily to a storage unit. They did not leave blankets or ask me if I wanted my furniture covered to protect it. They slid things across the top of my wood furniture, banged into them, and even walked on top of them without any protection on the pieces! When we moved the furniture to my house, we found footprints on both wood furniture and my couches! Then, they get you to sign off on a measley 60 cents per pound before you even know if there are any damages. So, I am going to have to foot most of the bill to fix THEIR damage! *EDIT* after the manager, Eric, came by to look at the place he said he would resolve things. However, they broke three of my bookshelves and charged me double what I was originally quoted. When I spoke to Eric again at the end of the day he suggested it was my fault for his and his employees lack of concern or skill. I am outraged at how horrible the kids were that you sent to pack me yesterday. They skipped about 1/3 of my belongings, did not label anything, left my home a huge mess, and took several hours longer than they should have. They did not even take bulbs or shades off of the lamps which doesn't matter I suppose since they haven't packed any of my lamps. I put aside funds for this in order to decrease the stress of moving because I have CPTSD and am on disability but this has made everything so much worse! I told them before they started that my plan was for them to pack everything so that I could then clean surfaces and floor boards. They proceeded to leave everything so scattered that I am unable to clean today which in turn is going to cost me my deposit. One of the employees also pooped in my small bathroom toilet, didn't flush, didn't pack anything from that room, then literally blocked the door with three boxes. They skipped an entire bathroom. They did not pack my computer tower in anything they just leaned a box over it! They have also totally blocked my front door. They also stacked my end tables on top of each other and in turn stacked those on my coffee table. I assume the surfaces are now scratched. What the hell? The list goes on and on. read more

I used Wasatch Moving Company for my move into my new home. They ended up charging me double what they quoted me, citing a number of hidden fees. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are a scam!! UPDATE: Now rhe owner of the company is now sending me harassing messages and slandering me in public settings, because I left a negative review. Additionally, he has shared my personal information in public settings (this Yelp review, Google, & Facebook), including the last 4 of my credit card information. Posting recordings of my phone call and copies of my invoice in public forums is HIGHLY illegal, without getting written consent. Companies are required by law to notify customers they are "recording this call for quality assurance," or some iteration of that. That never occurred in my phone calls. I will seek legal recourse if you do not cease and desist. read more

The boys showed up on time and worked their b***s off. Only stopped for a break because I brought them some lunch. They were courteous, hard working, very careful with the furniture, and got the job done very well. There was a question whether we might need another truck because of the quantity of our belongings but they packed it efficiently like a Tetris puzzle. Ours was a move from Orem to Washington Utah. They were super punctual again the 2nd day for unloading and it went smooth. Super satisfied with the entire experience and would highly recommend them. Of course, the bonus is they actually saved us $$thousands compared to the competition. Our son and his family will be using them next month with their move. I don't know if it was the movers or the neighbors renting the truck, but there ought to be some etiquette involved when parking right in front of someone else's garage. I understand that sometimes it has to be done, but those neighbors started the moving process like two months ago, have been in there, and the truck drivers or neighbors could have asked permission first. At least a note the night before on the door or something like that. It is pretty annoying when you cannot get into your own garage because someone could not have moved up another ten feet. They obviously wanted to make it as easy on themselves as possible at our expense. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are all about the bait and switch. I used them this time because in the past I had them help me move a heavy piece of furniture. They did a good job then and were friendly and professional. Brandon was the person I dealt with on the phone at that time. IF YOU ONLY READ PART OF THIS POST, READ THE BEGINNING AND SKIP TO THE END WHERE YOU CAN SEE HOW MUCH MONEY ERIC STOLE FROM MY CREDIT CARD WITH TWO UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES. SO, turns out Brandon is the friendly face Wasatch Moving uses up front. HE IS ONLY THAT - A FRIENDLY FACE. IT ALL GOES DOWNHILL FROM THERE. He seems courteous, has good follow through and seems to be on the ball. So I asked him to help me with this move. I moved out of a town home into a storage unit. He and I did a complete walk through of my house from top to bottom. He assured me this would be an easy move, and he would send 2-3 men (my choice) and it would take them "3-4 hours" to move me out of my house and into storage. It would cost me $165 per hour for all the men, no matter how many they sent. He also told me I needed a 10' x 10' storage unit, "10' x 15' MAX, if I wanted to have a walkway through the storage unit". Brandon's estimation abilities are nil at best. I hedged my bets and decided to rent a 10' x 20' unit. Figured I'd have all the space in the world. On move day, 4 young men arrived at my door. I immediately asked why we had four people. The Team Lead assured me that it was no problem, that "the job will go exponentially faster" with 4 men, and anyway, they were training the new guy. I spent the day chasing 4 guys to the best of my ability. They were CARRYING 3 and 4 LARGE moving boxes down flights of stairs, with the top box toppling off the top. I had to insist repeatedly that they use a dolly for my items. The would all roll their eyes and their reply was, "I've never dropped a box yet!" It was a long, stressful day. 4.5 hours later, the house was empty and they were ready for lunch. They told me they would take 30 minutes for lunch which I wouldn't be charged for. 70 minutes later their lunch was over and we met at the storage facility. It quickly became obvious that my things were not going to fit in the unit. I expressed my concern to the Team Lead and he apparently called Eric, the Operations Manager, who arrived shortly thereafter. He sauntered up to me and asked how the day was going. I expressed concerns over having four men on the job, having the job already last nearly twice as long as it was supposed to, and the fact that my things were obviously not going to fit into the unit which was 100 sq ft larger than Brandon's estimated space need. Eric immediately began to speak down to me, answering my concerns with, "But how have my guys treated you today?" What??? I kept bringing the conversation back to the problems at hand and all he wanted to know was how I liked his guys. When I became a bit more animated about my concerns he asked how I wanted him to solve the problem. Should he send a guy home?, he asked. He shrugged his shoulders and asked what he wanted me to do. He was completely without an idea. I asked how in the world sending a guy home would solve the problem of us being 4 hours overtime at this point. He was rude, dismissive and condescending. He also suggested that I get to the office of the storage facility before they closed and start pricing additional storage units. The movers spent 3 hours playing Tetris with my things and this storage unit. We literally shoved the last item, a bicycle, in the door and slammed it shut before it could fall out. There was not an inch to spare in the unit. End of the day, he charged me $1555 for what should have been, at MOST, a $660 day with the original estimate of $165 x 4 hours. He charged me $313 for the 4th guy! I refused to pay this bill and we settled on $752 for the day. He was happy with that. He said we could talk the next day with Brandon and figure out what went wrong with the estimates and the charges. Next day he texted me twice and I called him twice. He didn't answer either call. He then took it upon himself to apply TWO UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES TO MY CREDIT CARD! One for the extra man charge, $313, and and another for $489.50! Way to go, Eric! If your company is unprofessional and dishonest at best, and your employees are irresponsible and lazy with your customer's items and you are scum, I don't see what could possibly go wrong when you decide to help yourself to money from your customer's credit card - TWICE!!! At the end of the day, I'll get my money back, even if Eric has to explain himself and his business practices to the local news channel and has to be shamed into refunding my money. I won't mind one bit. All you other people who were screwed should jump on board. This company is a disgrace. read more

These guys did an amazing job moving my wife and I. They were always working and even took time to give attention to our dog.

We used Wasatch moving Company to help us move from Herriman to Highland. We chose them because the salesman was extremely nice. He came onsite and gave us a great quote. His quote looked very thorough. He took a lot of pictures and also told us that they would easily be able to move the upright piano. The movers were scheduled to be at our house at 8:00am, but didn't arrive until 9:15. When they came onsite to give us the quote, they said that they could disassemble furniture. When they started disassembling the furniture, they had no idea how to do it. The were very disorganized and I found parts and pieces along with screws scattered all over the place. They damaged a brand new air hockey table, because they didn't know how to disassemble furniture. They started out with 5 guys in their crew, but 1 guy quit after a few hours and another one was fired a few hours after that. The workers were very fast and efficient for the first 90 minutes, but then started moving in slow motion for the rest of the day. They final bill came in more than double what were quoted. We even moved more than 50% of our stuff ourselves before the movers showed up. The workers were always very kind and easy to work with, but they all moved in slow motion. read more

Worst experience I could have asked for. 1. I personally watched them drop a dresser, a table, and another item of furniture. They actually removed the moving blanket from a fancy stone top dresser drawer and placed it directly onto the dolley. They badly smashed the ends of boards connected to the matching bed. 2. They never delivered the top to my executive desk or a box of expensive ammunition (other businesses might call this theft). When told about the desk, they offered to pay ($0.60 per pound) for a "comparable" desk. The desk they used to determine weight was a tiny desk that clearly weighed much less than the executive desk I used to use for my law office. 3. Despite full time supervision, they only got about 60% of the items in the right rooms. Moe was awesome - the guy deserves a raise - and a few of the crew were really nice. The owner was difficult to work with and receives my vote for worst business I've dealt with in a couple decades. Very unhappy. read more

I do NOT recommend this moving company. I hired them for 3 guys and a truck and only 2 guys showed. They were not able to get all my stuff into the truck, which was no problem as I paid for an additional day with 3 guys. Again only 2 showed. I have 4 major problems that is driving me to write a review. I only write reviews when it is really good or in this case really bad. I don't drink or smoke yet there was an empty pint of gin shoved under a shelf that was not there from me. Also the cigarette buts on the front patio and the one left in my rental house showed a disrespect for my things and the rental house. I have a very heavy table with columns which support the table. I asked one of the movers to be careful to not scratch the floors as he was shuffling it across hardwood floors. He then got in my face and said "what scratches, there are not scratches" I pointed one out and he blamed it on my dog. I said it wasn't my dog b/c it was about 9 inches long and it was black. He continued to get obviously upset. He went out to the truck and refused to move any more items. I was happy about that. There was a lot of damage to my things which I had asked to be protected. I had to ask to protect them 3 times. This is common practice for movers (I have moved across country 5 times and across town 2 times). They seemed put out by my request to protect the hand rails, floors and furniture. My couch and large armoire are severely damaged. I had a gun that I moved myself and put in my new house in a specific place especially since movers don't moves these items. My gun is missing now. In addition I tried calling the lead mover to inquire about the missing item and one last box that I knew was full of books and sentimental items. He never returned my calls, or texts. I then called the moving coordinator about these items and he said he would have the lead mover call me. That was 4 days ago. Awful company. A statue and several large ceramic planters were destroyed in their truck. I can understand that items I packed in boxes could be broken, but their movers packed these in. I hadn't signed up for their extra, expensive insurance, so they were only reimbursed at about 1/4 of their replacement cost...and I only got that much because the items were heavy. Additionally the movers were over half an hour late because they didn't have my address (despite me giving it to the company twice). Worst of all, I was quoted an hourly rate, and charged by the item. I was never given a receipt for my move. I feel completely ripped off by these guys. The movers themselves were polite. Unfortunately, these people scammed us. It was a typical bait and switch. We gave them a very thorough list beforehand of the items that would need to be moved. They gave us a quote which sounded fair. They said they would be able to have us moved within the working day. Late at night and at the end of an extremely disorganized move they presented us with a bill that was FOUR times what they had initially quoted - it was THOUSANDS more. We were shocked. We could see that perhaps a quote may be a bit low and would have been perfectly happy to pay what was fair but this went way beyond that. We went ahead and paid them in full, but we cannot recommend these people. Below we have listed what you need to be wary of before you hire this company. We had already packed and moved all of the boxes which included dishes, books, clothing etc. so ONLY the furniture or other large items were left for them to move. Two guys arrived in the morning as scheduled. However, they said that they did not have enough men show up. They needed to wait for more help. They kept saying that someone would come later. They spent a lot of time walking around and looking at things. We found out later that they were charging us for their time even when they were doing nothing. They also wrapped everything in plastic. We didn't realize until after the move how ridiculous it got as we were busy cleaning and couldn't supervise their every move. They spent literally hours wrapping ridiculous things in plastic. They even wrapped a large old particle construction board completely - every square inch. They used yards of wrap for that item alone. Also, they would wrap each individual wooden slat that held up the mattresses. Again using valuable time and yards of expensive plastic wrap. We were charged EXORBITANT fees for the plastic wrap and their time. We didn't realize they were doing this until after the fact. I think they wanted to look like they were busy until others arrived. They were training one person and he just sat around a good part of the time. I believe that we were paying his wages also. It was taking such a long time that it was evening before they finally had the furniture loaded. It was all extremely disorganized. They then told us that they would finish the move in the morning. We left and drove to our new home and just planned on sleeping on the floors. They called back and said they had some more help and so they would deliver the furniture that night. They arrived at our new home very late and unloaded quickly - it only took about an hour as there was really not that much stuff. We were friendly and patient during the entire day. read more

Wonderful local business to work with for a local move. From the moment I requested a quote from Yelp. The company was great at getting back with me within minutes and setting up a time to come out to my house to give me a solid bid on the move (not just sending me an hourly rate and letting me guess how long it would take them to move my house). I expressed my concerns upfront about my antiques and family heirlooms being handled with care. The moving crew had notes on this and actually asked me which pieces they needed to be extra diligent with. Speaking of moving crew.. they showed up on time, were truly a team and coordinated their process as a team who truly likes each other. They divided and conquered the work to make the loading and unloading go quickly and smoothly. They also were so kind and respectful to me and my belongings. All furniture was carefully wrapped in moving blankets and either rubberbanded or taped into place, and glass pieces were wrapped exceptionally well. The moving team would even point out boxes that they thought sounded suspicious to breaking (you know those holiday bins that we pile our seasonal decorations in, but never think to repack during a move). Speaking of bins, Wasatch Moving Company even offers containers for rent that are the same price as boxes to purchase at Home Depot. They drop them off prior to your move and then come pick them up the week after move (talk about motivation for getting your stuff unpacked). These containers were smaller than a medium size moving box, but held so much weight... not to mention you didn't have to fill the entire container in order to protect everything packed (know how a cardboard box will collapse if not filled all the way). I truly cannot express how pleased I am with Wasatch Moving Company. The entire team made the moving process so easy (and we all know moving SUCKS)! read more

In the end we agreed to pay part of the bill with the remaining to cover some of the damages l, though is wasn't even close to the cost of repair. Stay away! read more

They were professional, extremely strong and super fast. These guys were moving very heavy furniture as if they were feather light and they was no damage to any of our stuff or to the walls.
