Not that I need an excuse to have something refreshing in the form of ice cream or frozen yogurt but it was gorgeously warm on Saturday so off to GoGreenlycentralave we went. I've had their milk teas before which are yummy but had not tried their fro-yo.  There is a "help yourself" fro-yo station with different flavors in the wall where you pull the handle into the cup size of choice or waffle cone.  You must wear provided disposable gloves when dispensing the fro-yo.  We opted for the wax cup.  The special of the day was Fruity Pebbles and it was on point.  My sis went with that but I went with vanilla because there were so many toppings I wanted to add it that to me it made more sense to go with a neutral flavor.  And brother did we pile on the toppings!  Chocolate crunchies, coconut flakes, dark chocolate syrup and my eyes lit up when I saw rainbow cookie chunks.  I topped it off with a maraschino cherry. They have chairs outside but were taken so we ate indoors on their bench.  They have a countertop by the window and a few chairs inside all socially distanced from each other. read more

Prior to the whole COVID thing, I went to Go Greenly a few times. I was never really a frequent customer (it's not that close to me), but I stopped going after a bad experience receiving a smoothie that was noticeably sour. (I was thankfully refunded). Recently, I decided to give the place another chance since I was on Central Avenue. I really don't know if I'll be going out of my way to go here again. Why? First of all, the parking is absolutely horrendous. Maneuvering that strip lot and finding a spot is not worth the effort. This location was originally in another part of Central Avenue, and - rent permitting - they should have stayed there. Second: Being asked if you want to tip is very awkward. I've never been in a counter-based food establishment where the staff literally holds up an iPad and ASKS you if you want to tip - especially after using the *self-serve* dispensers. I tip pretty generously even if I get one slice of pizza, but this felt like I was being guilted into it. Lastly, while the yogurt itself wasn't bad, it definitely wasn't as tasty or flavorful as other establishments in Westchester. Furthermore, the selection of flavors was a little lacking, IMO. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and the price was cheaper than other yogurt places. All in all, it was a pretty "meh" experience. If I'm on Central Ave and have a craving, I might try them again, but I'm definitely not going out of my way to go here. I'm happy to pay a little more to enjoy 16 Handles. read more

On this evening of April 18, 2024 my daughter, our service dog Daisy and I, visited your "Go Greenly" location at 1109 Central Ave. We were there with another classmate and her mother after coming out of Volleyball practice. Unfortunately what was supposed to be a happy visit turned into a distressing ordeal after an elderly lady approached us to tell us no dogs were allowed and demanded for us to leave. She first identified herself as the owner, to later clarify to be the owner's mother. I explained that Daisy was not a pet, but a service dog. Please note, Daisy is only one years old, weights less than 15lb, was wearing her service dog vest, and was not on the floor nor on the furniture. The lady's dislike for us did not stop her from continuing to discriminate against us and violate our rights. She continued to harass us, in exchange I information her that would start recording her behavior for my protection. As we're recording, I advised her that she should not demand for us to leave unless the dog is attacking someone, nor demand for any identification, nor have any special requirements that are not pre-approved by the attorneys general office. She disregarded all my suggestions and continued to yell at us demanding for prove. As anyone can imagine this was highly embarrassing for my daughter, who now wish to never go back to your establishment. As her mother, it is my duty to protect her and make sure this kind of behavior is not tolerated and does not continue to happen to others. I am writing this letter not only express my disappointment but to also request that you take immediate action to address this matter. My service dog is an extension of myself, and the law unequivocally protects my right to bring her with me wherever I go. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, especially one that is meant to be for family gathering. I kindly request that you thoroughly investigate this incident and take appropriate measures to ensure that such behavior does not recur again in any of your establishments. This place offers bubble tea, yogurt, froyo and more! The place was clean. The three employees were kind, respectful, and professional. I had a jumbo matcha green tea bubble tea which was $4.50 then I added tapioca balls for .50 cents so it was $5.00. It was yummy! My gf got froyo. She said some were froyo texture and some were icee texture (unlike other froyo places like 16 handles where all the selections are froyo texture). She liked the mixed. She filled her cup with a lot of froyo/icee and toppings. It is .69 cents per ounce and here weighed about 11 ounces. Her froyo was $7.25 total. We will be coming back again! This is a delightful place full of happiness and sugary treats. While I haven't tried the froyo yet I did have some of the bubble tea. I have to say it's one of the best bubble tea places in the area. Westchester and the Scarsdale area doesn't really have a lot of this Asian type drink. Luckily, this store does not disappoint. My family and I visit this location all the time. We absolutely love how clean the place is and how courteous the staff is. The selection of yogurt and toppings is fantastic. With everything positive I've said, why the two stars you ask? We typically go for froyo around 8pm, and lately the store staff has the lights turned off, and serving spoons put away making my family and I feel unwelcome. The staff looks at each other angrily whenever anyone walks in the store. My family and I feel unwanted, like we're bothering the staff. It's my understanding that this location closes at 9PM. I had a milk tea with tapioca for the first time in a while from here, and it was delicious! The boba pearls were the right consistency, and the right ratio with the milk tea. Pretty decent frozen yogurt place with all the trimmings. I was in the area recently and decided to try this place, since I'm not about to drive far out of my way and find a Pinkberry. The flavors seem limiting, but apparently they change up daily. They had enough toppings and fresh fruit to make you want to get more than one cup. The area was clean, which is always nice. I've never officially had "frozen yogurt" before as I always considered it close enough to actual ice cream, but the taste was pretty good. If you're a frozen yogurt fan, I would recommend this place. I didn't get any toppings this time, but that'll be for the next time. I see some of the other reviews point out the "friendly staff". When I came in here, they were roughly lethargic and not so warm. No one else was inside and they looked very bored. Maybe it was an "off day" for them, but it wasn't like they were nasty either. That being said, I'm glad it's here - especially since they serve up some solid yogurt. I'm not too familiar with all Go Greenly has to offer, but it looks like they're embracing the whole "green" approach to food, offering smoothies, juices, bubble tea, and salads in addition to froyo. I ordered Filipino Halo-Halo. The girl behind the counter said that she'll check inside if they have the ingredients; she came back and said they have so I said okay. I was disappointed because the girl who works there did not know how to make it. The worse part was that what I got wasn't Halo-Halo. At the very bottom were shaved ice and topped with red beans, white kaong/nata de coco, Ube halaya, and my choice of frozen yogurt. That was it! I was so disappointed that I didn't say anything! In my mind: why only shaved ice at the bottom? Where's the plantains and jack fruit and the other ingredients that were supposed to be at the very bottom before the shaved ice? Toppings had no fruit pebbles, no leche flan and no evaporated milk. I paid the full price of $6.50 it wasn't worth it. I even gave them a tip. Please don't call this dish a Halo-Halo if you don't know how to make it or if you do not have the proper ingredients.
