My whole plan in coming here was to recreate a Ben and Jerry's retired favorite, Wavy Gravy. Wavy Gravy: Caramel Cashew Brazil Nut Ice Cream with a Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge Swirl & Roasted Almonds. Hard to replicate. First thing I asked is if they had hazelnuts. If only they had, I could then improvise from there. Not enough available ingredients to help my plan. Ended up in the opposite direction. Settled on Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream with extra Graham Cracker Pie Crust plus Walnuts. Nutty and pie crust chewy, but not cheesecakey enough. The place has a lot of parking, but abut small inside and can get crowed, they have cakes ready in their frozen to grab and go. They have varieties of style and flavors compare to Carvel & Baskin Robbin's , except CS do not have soft cones. But can't have it all and every franchise has their one special item. I ordered the heavy cream and strawberry ice cream with rainbow sprinkles on a waffle cone. I didn't anticipate eating the whole thing but I did. Since we had this on my birthday I didn't feel guilty. It was really good and I'm glad there were no ice chips in my ice cream. He mixed a few pieces if oreo in and then went back and put a scoop of plain vanilla on top. I said I think there's supposed to be oreos on top and he said it's underneath. I love me some Cold Stone but maybe not at this location! My ice cream was absolutely delicious, but all Cold Stone ice cream is great. The line was pretty darn long for a chilly afternoon, and I have a feeling that the staff were not able to handle the line. They had a lot of trouble hearing people's orders, especially mine. When I ordered my cup, they misheard the size of my order, and if I wanted a waffle cup. When they did my order, they did a "like it" cup with no waffle. But I ordered a "love it" waffle cup. They corrected my size to "love it" mid-order, but as I was being rung up, and my order was ready, it was not in a waffle cup. And I let them know that it was supposed to be in a waffle cup. I would have been fine if they simply corrected this second mistake, but the young man working had the nerve to let me know that I had to order more clearly. Very disappointed with red passion ice cream cake. Ordered it online 2 weeks prior to pick up. Shame on me for not looking at the cake because by the time we unpackaged it to put the candles on and sing, "Happy Birthday" we were extremely disappointed. You know when a cake from a bakery has a first frosting layer put on it to smooth out the crumbs and then another layer goes on? Well this ice cream cake looked like they put a layer of vanilla ice cream and never put on the finishing layer. The writing was on it with the color I asked for but it looked very unfinished. Online ordering seemed like a great idea especially during the height of the pandemic. Just don't expect to get what you order. I generally order the "Everybody's" size, which is a 3 pint container and includes 6 mixins. It's rare that I get the exact mixins I order and, since the item is pre-ordered and already packed up when I get there, I don't know that it's incorrect until I get it home. It's incorrect at least 30% of the time. Other Problems with online ordering: * your order is left in a freezer cabinet away from the staff area and near the front door. ANYONE can walk in and just take your order, no questions asked, no identity verification needed. * If you're buying one of the freezer container, you stand a good chance of getting shorted the amount you're paying for. There's no system for accurate measuring or weighing, so what you get is entirely up to the mood of the employee filling the order. Larger sizes tend to get shorted since it's less noticeable so at upwards of $6 per pint, it's disheartening. read more
