My wife went in first based off of the reviews of the music to make sure it was not to loud for our daughter. We walked in and we were asked if we had a reservation at this tine maybe 3 tables were filled, we said no and it took him about 5 minutes to figure out if he had space for us. I watched others after just come in and get seated. We have been seated at a table and finally the bar tender came over to ask if we wanted a drink or appitizers. At this point still not sure who are waiter/waitress is. We started with the chips and guacamole. The chips are thicker then others, the salsa is loaded with tomatoes and onions and has a nice flavor the guacamole had lots of tomatoes which we love. My wife ordered a sangria which had bearly any fruit in it. I stayed safe with a corona. I ordered 3 different tacos and they all had nice flavors, they did have alot of grease but over all good flavor. My wife had the variety of enchiladas she said they were good. Came here today with a friend. Let me just start with waiter LUIS, LUIS, LUIS hands down made the entire experience and is the reason we will absolutely be coming back. We got there at the start of service so it wasnt busy yet. We've been to Tipsy Taco a few times and had good experiences before. However, tonight was not what we expected. The server got two of our drink orders completely wrong and the nachos had barely any toppings. I can't stand it when nachos aren't done right; there shouldn't be more than half the chips without anything on them. Then, when we ordered our main courses, we even pointed to the menu to make sure there would be no mistakes. Yet when the entrées arrived, two of the orders were completely wrong again. We've never had an experience like this here before--usually, the food and service are great. Tonight was disappointing. I ate here on Monday with my family and I must say I was very disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are great but my virgin Pina colada was nasty. Not only was it too sweet so I requested several pieces of lime to cut the sugar but it had a weird taste as you drank it. The nachos for two was nasty. They had an over abundance of beans, clumped up shredded cheese that had not melted, and barely any shredded pork (you can get chicken, pork, steak or ground beef) and very little guacamole. My fried cod taco was excellent. I loved it. My husband's paella was okay. He didn't enjoy it because it had an abundance of rice and peas and almost nothing else. My son enjoyed his tacos. My granddaughter ordered the strip steak. She said it was okay but they put an abundance of chopped garlic on the top of the steak. So much so that it over powered the flavor of the steak. I am not sure if I will go again but if I do I will just order the tacos. read more

Hate to rate a new business low but this is my first time and I will be returning and hopefully have a better experience. First off, it's super exciting that there is a new place on Garth road with some liveliness to it. The bar: the bar is fantastic and the drinks are really good and considering Jackie B's is the only other bar type place on that block, this is much better. The bar is a 5/5 and the margaritas are excellent and taste super fresh and natural. The food: so my review may seem unfair as I only ordered the Nachos specifically the Tipsy Nachos for 2 which included tortilla chips, guacamole, pico de gallo, black beans, cheese, corn, jalapeños, and choice of protein in which I ordered the pulled chicken. It is served in a very cool way, cast iron pan and they remove a can and dump it into the pan in front of you. All this is great the problem I had was the nachos came out super cold to the point that the cheese was already hard and hard to pull the nachos apart. Also the flavor of the chicken was very underwhelming. Bland chicken on top of the nachos and it would've been nice to have some sour cream (next time I'd ask for it). The service: the service was good and their new outdoor patio is cute. Also enjoyed the iPad menu, it's easy to scroll through and you can see photos of all the food you are ordering. I would 100% not discredit this place and I would definitely return I just dislike when food is served cold but I will be back and try more things. I love tacos, but I didn't love the tacos here. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think they tasted good. I got one chicken, one blackened salmon, one tuna, and one cod I think it was. I didn't like any of them. The chicken was hard to chew. One of the fish ones was so spicy I couldn't eat it. One was smothered in sauce I didn't like. They just all weren't tasty. I barely ate them and afterwards was so hungry that I went across the street to have dinner at Southeast Asia. The atmosphere was okay. It was loud, but the waitress was friendly. The parking is easy if there are spots available on the street, which there were when I went. Was so excited to hear Tipsy Taco was coming to the area! They did not disappointed with a revamped look to the space, a repositioned and highlighted bar, and a fun and interesting menu. So great to have another (rare) option open passed 10pm. I stopped in for their first Friday night open with some friends for a birthday. The place was lively, energetic and the staff handled the crowd like veterans. We enjoyed the Guacamole, Empanadas, Carnitas Tacos, and a number of the flavored margaritas. The good: Thankfully they aren't doing that ridiculous thing to nachos where you get about 8 nachos each individual built. This is a big pile that comes stacked in a can that is then placed inside a cast iron pan. Also don't sleep on the portobello mushroom taco. If you order a bunch of different tacos make sure you try this one. Not that it's great but it's the only taco that isn't basic. The bad: The cauliflower taco. Skip it. In fact be offended by how tasteless it is. The chicken: As is the case in most Mexican restaurants they pre-cook the chicken. Then they leave it in a warmer or cook it again when they prepare your dish. This causes it to dry out and lose all the flavor. Real chefs understand this and use certain seasonings, spices and techniques to make up for this method of preparing chicken. Here they must be unaware of all of these techniques because you get all the blandness with none of the flavor. Think chicken in a dollar store microwaved burrito. It's a new place. Large bar with oddly small tv's. Some booths but it has row seating along the wall. Row seating in a brand new restaurant is ridiculous. Seriously who planned that and who approved it? I know the 90's are retro again but that has been proven to be the worst way to enjoy any restaurant experience. Why am I making a big deal on the set up of the seating? Because they should know better as this isn't their first location and dining experience is crucial to success. Just like they should know how not to serve dried out chicken. I can can go on but will sum it up with that this place is amazingly generic in so many ways. But hey, as I always say about places in Scarsdale. The customers have the capital but they have yet to acquire any couth or class with that money. However the locals will be thrilled this opened especially when they see the menus are on an iPad with pictures and videos. The nachos were not good and they were cold. It's a Mexican place and the margaritas tasted awful. We had the flight and couldn't find any that we really cared for. Even the chips they give for the salsa and guacamole were just not good. My little niece didn't even like her cheese quesadillas! How can you get that wrong??!! Amazing new modern style Mexican restaurant. From the moment my friends and I stepped foot in the tipsy taco we knew we were in for a special experience. To start, you receive tablets as menus that you can see pictures and videos of all of their items on the menu. We started off with steak nachos which were extremely unique. The presentation alone is worth ordering but the taste was even better. I then had the shrimp burrito which had huge pieces of shrimp in it and was delicious and filling. We ordered 6 different tacos, all of which lacked seasoning and flavor. I got a shrimp taco and it was as so fishy I couldn't finish it. We had to call our waitress over anytime we needed anything, rather than her coming by to ask. Now If it was a busy day I would understand, but it's a Tuesday and this place is dead. The only time our waitress was quick to the table was with our cards when we were paying. I got the frozen margarita, and it wasn't frozen. For food I started off with street corn off the Cobb and empanadas. The street corn was good with a little spicy kick and the empanada was one beef and one chicken, I recommend the chicken but the were both delicious and crispy!
