Walked into an empty Carvel today (7/25/25) thinking it would be a quick and pleasant stop. Instead, the young female employee was loudly complaining about an older male coworker and greeted me sarcastically with, "Oh look, a customer." After I placed my order, she continued to complain to another employee, asked me again what I wanted, then snapped, "Of course, what else would I give you?" Her attitude was disgusting, regardless of any issues she had with staff. I told her never mind and walked out. I love carvel Ice cream and for me soft ice cream is number one and all other ice creams are number 2 , so when I was in Elmsford and remember the Carvel shack store I had to go in . Full array of Carvel ice cream , frozen yogurt , hard ice cream , flying saucers , ice creams and more . I will skipped lunch and do a double mix cone with rainbow sprinkles with plenty of napkins .Got a six pack of flying saucers and a medium ice cream cake shaped like a ghost for my boys who are waiting for me and the Chinese food I have not ordered yet at my crib. Stopped by for an after dinner treat a few evenings ago. I had actually never been to a Carvel before so this was a fun surprise. They had a lot of prepackaged ice creams you could take with you like ice cream cake, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cones dipped in the chocolate. There were some funky looking things thrown in the freezers too. I ended up getting a kids pistachio ice cream cone. It was pretty good, not the best I've ever had. The cone also had a weird stain on the bottom that I didn't eat. My bf got the chocolate cone with no stain on his cone and the ice cream was also good. The people were friendly. The place was just a little overwhelming with stuff. I felt like it was too small and they were trying to cram in a lot of stuff. I'd come back if I'm the area for a quick ice cream fix! read more

So let me preface this by saying I am not super picky. I love Carvel and understand that some of the older locations have some wear and tear and that's ok! This store however was a run down, not visibly clean, mildewed scented mess. Peeled Formica on every surface. You could see the storage area teeming with boxes about to fall over. The actual ice cream containers looked freezer burned and had old product in it. A woman in the back was running the soft serve out into a "container", definitely looked like it was in cleaning mode and perhaps should have been saved for closing sidework. I didn't want to touch anything because everything had a patina of grime on it. Dim florecent bulbs and a dirty glass door. I know it sounds like I'm a little baby, I am not. This store was just nasty and unappealing. The kicker? The older gent behind the counter tells me the credit card machine is down and it's cash only. No sign on the door. I have two little kids that I did not want to disappoint so I was able to scrounge up enough for two small dishes of mint chip. 7.50 for both. read more

In a day and age when Louis Vuitton-carrying low fat yogut'eers rule the world; acrid Kale shakes are the beverage of choice for hipsters and hipster-wannabes; and your being seen (by your friends) woofing down a big-boy real ice cream cone with sprinkles and other sloppy fixings would be met with their slackened jaw facies of disbelief and disdain-- it takes some courage to walk into Carvel. Good news-- no friends in sight nor tolerant enemies seen--so I entered. Defiantly, I ordered the politically savvy chocolate-vanilla swirl and told the server to not be stingy with the equally socially sensitive rainbow sprinkles. Wow!!! Was it good!!! As always. Deliciously creamy on both the vanilla and chocolate and the sprinkles were solid and not mushy. The consistency of the ice cream was perfectly velvety, and was excellently sweet. The servers were all smiles and courteous. The ambiance was inconsequential and irrelevant but the air conditioner was pleasantly cool. No public toilet. The one irksome feature.....no seating. Please get a couple of booths, some chairs or health w about a counter with stools for older folks, patrons with infirmities, or those who..... et-em...uhh, hmmm, well...let's just folks who might overly frequent ice cream stores. read more

Came here on a whim... and I'm glad I did. Happened to be in the neighborhood and had a craving for some ice cream. Carvel hasn't failed me in nearly 30 years... and this location hasn't either. Yelp has saved my cravings once again. The two ladies here were very attentive and greeted me warmly with their smile. They were fairly busy prepping and cleaning, so I made sure I didn't waste much of their time. I had already known what I wanted after a quick glance at inventory. I got a small cup with Kit Kat ice cream and of course chocolate chip cookie dough. It was $5 well spent. If I'm ever in the neighborhood I will definitively be back. This carvel is disgusting to say the least. They don't wear gloves, when I asked her why she's not wearing gloves she said she dips her hands in the red dirty bucket and then I paid for my little brothers soft serve cup ice cream and she dips my card in her bucket and laughss. We have been going to this store for the last few years when dropping our kids off to HOS . This place always seems busy , but the lines always seems to move. Oh Carvel, how I love you! This place has the unfortunate location of Elmsford, yet they always bring the quality on! This store is owned by a nice little Taiwanese lady who has been here... forever. I asked her to write something for me in Chinese, and she even corrected my Chinese (misspelled a character) and she didn't laugh at me. It is clear that these cakes are made with care, and she really has pride in her work. I love stores with pride in their work! This location is great because it has plenty of parking spots, but at the same time it is terrible because of how hard it is to get out of certain parking spots. Definitely overpriced ice cream. Service is less than mediocre since they are always rushing you out. Spent close to $34for four people and when I asked for a small empty cup for my toddler the owner decided to charge me .50 for it.
