When checking under the house they found another active leak and also identified an issue with our water pressure regulator. Unlike many plumbers I've worked with, they took excellent video of the problems, communicated ever step and action, and made sure we fully understood the problems. To top it off, they were immediately available to come out, investigate, provide a solution, and spent the entire day resolving all three problems so we could have water back the same day. We've had zero issue with those problems since! My experience with Plumbing Geeks, Dave specifically, was great! The day I contacted him, he was…read moreready to help me fix my problem myself! But since I had already started and broken something, and am low on confidence when it comes to plumbing, he was also willing to help, and made an appt. with me for the very next (Sunday) morning, since my work schedule is just insane. He listened to the type of handles I wanted to replace mine with, while the stems were being changed, and when I was unable to find any I could get easily, quickly enough, he went out and got both types and brought them for the appointment! I was THRILLED that he found the "X" style I wanted and we tried those, but my architecture didn't support them, so sad! But he had the others at the ready, and went ahead and completed the repair, replacing my stems and handles, and fixing the leak that had been plaguing me for months. A couple of weeks later, the showerhead, which had been installed without leaks or issues for 7 months, started suddenly *spraying* water on a Sunday and it didn't seem usable (confirmed Sunday night when I tried to and turned the bathroom floor into a small lake and sprayed the door, the wall, just water all over) night and I couldn't use it, I wasn't going to be able to shower until it was fixed. This happened out of nowhere, the thing had been installed for 7 months and I hadn't done anything to cause a change, I don't move or swing or twist the arm, or even the head, at all. And so, I immediately thought it happened when Dave removed the showerhead to make room to work and put it back up when he was done. I thought he'd just removed the big huge rainfall showerhead to get it out of the way, since it's big and bulky and comes to about eye height for his height, and I was sure he'd *had* remove it so he'd have room to do the repair he did. I'm still a little baffled how it fit and was able to be moved out of the way, but he did. And I don't recall actually ever seeing it removed. We set an appt for the following Sunday, I couldn't make one for the week days since I've been working 11 to 12 hours a day (and had just worked a 12+ hour 6th day the day before this happened. This was before I realized how bad of a water issue it created when it was on. After I realized I contacted him that evening and said, I can't wait til the weekend, can we do anything during the week, I'll just have to take some paid time off for the appt. Spoiler alert, I didn't know it until partway through the appt when he came and fixed it, but Dave never removed it! I'm still kind of stunned about that, I don't know how it fit out of his way, and I don't recall seeing it at all when he was doing the repair, so I thought it had to be out, but I don't recall seeing it anywhere as removed, either (after he told me he hadn't removed it, which totally makes sense that he wouldn't, I just don't know how it fit out of his way!) But the point of that is, I was *sure* that was the catalyst for the sudden water spray situation, I thought, oh sure, it just didn't get secured exactly as it needed to be and a couple of weeks later it was showing... which doesn't make much sense, when I think about it, but it seemed like it couldn't be coincidence and I was sure it just didn't get back on just right, or something. It wasn't even the thing being repaired, so it seemed easy to imagine maybe it was a bit loose, or something. He made time for me, he came at 8pm on Thursday night to save me, since I hadn't had a shower in 4 days at that point and couldn't wait another 3 days! Even though I'd believed the problem stemmed from the day he did the repair, I was shocked to learn it wasn't, he STILL didn't charge me!! All of the work, and coming to take care of it so late in the day, and everything, and he fixed it and there was no charge. He knows i'm in a very bad place financially and that I'd thought there'd be no charge, and even though he fixed something not even caused by the original repair, he didn't charge me. What an ANGEL!! What a fantastic work ethic, and he had sympathy for my plight, and understanding of my financial situation! Dave is amazing, if you're looking for a plumber I highly recommend Plumbing Geeks. I wanted to hire him to also reinstall my automatic water converter and was disappointed to learn I guess external plumbing isn't the same as internal. I would hire him for that in a heartbeat if he did that type! :)

I requested estimates from several plumbers, and A-Team Plumbing Services stood out by offering to clear the blockage for a flat $49. Thinking this would be a relatively simple drain-clearing job, I scheduled them to come out that morning. Giulio arrived right on time and attempted to snake the tub drain, but unfortunately the blockage wouldn't clear. He then asked whether we had a cleanout somewhere on the property. We weren't aware of one, so he went underneath the house to investigate the plumbing. What he found was quite a bit more complicated than a simple clog. There was a cracked pipe, aging cast iron, improperly installed and graded ABS, and poorly sealed joints. Essentially, our drainage system was a "Frankenstein" assembly of old and new plumbing that had been pieced together over many decades. While it was still technically functioning, it was clear that we were eventually going to have a much more serious--and potentially much more expensive--problem. The team also brought in a camera to inspect portions of the system, and during that process they discovered a deceased rat inside one of the pipes. Not exactly what you hope to find under your house, but it was another indication of just how much had accumulated and gone wrong with the old system over the years. We ultimately decided to have A-Team install a bullhorn cleanout along the side of the house, which required jackhammering through the concrete. This gives us much better access to the drainage system for future maintenance. Robert, the owner, then came out personally to evaluate the remainder of the system and provide an estimate. Although the larger project was certainly not inexpensive, Robert's proposal made sense: replace the old, mismatched plumbing with a completely new, uniform, properly installed drainage system serving both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the laundry area. We decided it made more sense to address the underlying problems now rather than wait for a major failure later. The work took about five days overall, with roughly three days devoted to re-piping everything under the house. The A-Team crew was extremely professional, courteous, and thoughtful about working in and around our home. They clearly took care with the work and with our property. Robert also offered, at no additional charge, to install a recessed box in the laundry area that would better contain the hot and cold water connections for the washing machine. We ultimately declined because doing so would have required moving the machines and cutting into the wall--and, frankly, we already had enough going on with the plumbing project! Still, we appreciated the offer and the fact that he was thinking about ways to improve the finished installation. Robert's sons, Stevie and Benjamin, helped manage portions of the project from the main office and were very responsive to our questions and text messages throughout the process. We're very happy with the finished result. We now have a completely new and properly installed drainage system rather than continuing to rely on a collection of aging and poorly configured pipes. The project also includes a 10-year parts-and-labor warranty and a two-year clog-free warranty, which gives us considerable peace of mind. What began as a $49 attempt to clear a clogged bathtub turned into a much larger plumbing project, but we're ultimately glad we called A-Team. Giulio's willingness to investigate the underlying problem rather than simply clear the immediate symptom was what led us to discover the condition of the existing system in the first place. We're pleased with the work and would recommend A-Team Plumbing Services to others.
