Having been to Rehobath Beach 15 years ago, I knew we had to find this place again. Just as I had hoped for nothing has changed, except the prices. The food is still delicious and the soft-shell crab sandwich is a must have. Our meals were hot and portions were great. The beer battered fish has a nice crunch, with good a balance of crust to fish. The soft-shell crab sandwich was very tasty and the crab to bun ratio was spot on. It was a rainy, cold, pre-season day so no one felt like leaving the view of the water from our hotel room. We placed a to-go order from Go Fish, and one of us drew a short straw to get the food. Ordering certainly one of the best decision we made that day... Calling in the order I spoke with a lady with a lovely British accent. She was so caring about every detail of the order even asking when would pick it up so it was in the takeout containers a minimum amount of time and made as fresh as possible. Ideally you want to eat fried food soon after it is made, but I have to say they are such experts at frying all the food held up well after being in take out containers. The fish was amazingly crisp and tender flaky on the inside. It is all you imagine well made fish and chips to be. The fried oyster app was also a hit - different coating from the fish with a half dozen whole bellies to an order. The soups we ordered were excellent - I really enjoyed the clam chowder. The care they put into double packing this was much appreciated! The building is so cool and stands out with a large fish swimming above the Union Jack design on the facade. It's been too long since I've had a legit fish and chips so I had to give it a go. The place was quite clean and the staff was friendly. My entree arrived hot out the fryer. It was golden brown and I couldn't wait to dig in. The meal was great at first. The white fish was a nice firm thick cut, the batter had a good crunch, the coleslaw was the perfect cold creamy compliment, and the tartar sauce had just the right amount of tang. Unfortunately, as the food got cold, the oil started to settle in and it became greasy. The fries, which were crisp when they came out, became soggy quick because they were placed under the fish. We also ordered the baked fisherman's pie which was a pleasant play on the classic Shepard's pie. This dish is definitely hearty and down right comfort food. Nice chunks of fish and the cream sauce was just thick enough. Their fountain coke was down right refreshing too. The type that makes you saw "ahhh". Very impressed with Go Fish! I saw an ad for this place in a tourist booklet and bookmarked it, guessing we'd use it as a landmark to get to the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. When we arrived to the boardwalk, we spent time wandering around and enjoying the sights and the Paws Parade which was coincidentally happening that day. When it was time for dinner we stumbled upon Go Fish and their convenient looking takeout window. We put in a couple of orders--the Jumbo Beer Battered Fish Chip Dinner with tartar and tandoori mushy peas, and 2 kids meals--1 chicken tender meal and 1 fish fillet meal. To my surprise, my oldest toddler ate both her chicken and fish fillets which is very rare for her as she's really picky. My husband and I split the fish and chip dinner and devoured it--it was delicious! Fresh, hot and crispy. The tandoori mushy peas was not what I expected, and maybe we were supposed to mix the spices into the pea mash ourselves, and once we did the flavors were just ok. The highlight was definitely the fish. The food came fairly quickly and we ate it at the benches across the street and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was very friendly and quick. The only complaint I would have is that kids meals should come with a drink of some sort, but this wasn't a huge deal. We'd come back again! read more

I had a brilliant meal at Go Brit and friendly, excellent service tonight. The tandoori chicken skewers were perfectly spiced, tender, and juicy. As sometimes tandoori chicken can be dry, this was a nice surpris. The cheddar mash was creamy and delicious. I saved some of my dinner to make room my favorite UK dessert - sticky toffee pudding. It's been a couple of years since I've been back to Scotland (I lived in Edinburgh for 16 years) and this was a lovely treat on a windy, cool evening. My serve, Mo, was friendly and just delightful. My husband and I were visiting his sister as we live in Indiana and we all decided to walk the boardwalk and dine in somewhere and we are so glad we chose Go Fish! When we walked in, the host was extremely nice and welcoming. We were a party of 7 and he took care of us no problem. My niece has a gluten allergy and Go Fish was so accommodating that they have their very own gluten free menu. My niece was happy that she had more of a selection to pick from. I ordered the fish and chips! They were seasoned well and taste very delicious. I was bummed because I asked our server how many filets we got and she said "1" .. so we placed another order which cost $8 bucks...and then my food came out and guess what.. it was 2 on my plate. After consulting Yelp, my husband and I decided to come here for a late lunch on a Friday. We dined at about 2pm with only two other tables in the place. Also of note, there's a take out window. I liked seeing the tube signs as it brought me back to London, one of my favorite cities. The menu is fairly simple and most items are fried. Several of the items do not come with sides, but you can order a la carte. My husband ordered their signature dish-English beer battered fish and chips. Made with Alaskan Pollock it was lightly breaded and served with house made coleslaw and tartar sauce. He said it reminded him of the hole in the wall place we visited in London. The fish was not greasy, the batter was crisp, and the fish was flakey. The fries were traditional British- not salted, thickish, and plentiful. The slaw was more vinegar style and with some pepper was tasty. I had the soft shell crab sandwich which was served with lettuce, tomato, lemon, and tartar sauce. Do yourself a favor and copy me- ask for chipotle mayo instead of tartar! I loved the kick it gave to the sandwich! It matched the crab well and my husband enjoyed dipping his chips in it. Mine came with coleslaw but no chips. Anyways, the crab had crispy breading that was very light. The crab was delicious! While we only sampled two menu items, I'd still highly recommend visiting Go Fish! Upon learning we were there for a bachelorette weekend, they sent us over two complimentary Sticky Toffee Puddings in honor of the bride to be. The atmosphere is also adorable. Little London Underground signs and British flags decorate the walls, and a cardboard cutout of the Queen is standing outside the front door to welcome guests. Would have given zero stars if I could. Our fish and chips were overcooked to the point of being burnt - as you can see in the photo, we got what was probably the end of the basket with all the burnt little bits that weren't really edible. The oil that had been used to fry them in was obviously dark and old because they had that stale, gone-over taste to them. The larger chips hadn't been properly prepared, several of them had what my (English) grandmother would have called "eyes" on them - bits that should have been cut out. The curry sauce had not been prepared properly either -- it was obviously from a packet or concentrate and hadn't been diluted. The mushy peas were bland and tasteless. Like other reviewers have said, if they've made those sausages themselves as they claim, I'd be surprised. They taste nothing like English pork sausages. You get one tiny plastic package of English malt vinegar thrown in with your chips, no extra salt. The lady who served us was rude. I was paying with cash and she grumbled because her cash register drawer wasn't working. I said I could give her a credit card if she preferred but she just carried on complaining about how her drawer had been doing that all day. I asked her about the other restaurant, a bit further out of town (we were interested in eating there also) and she just turned her back rather than have to answer me. What a weird experience. It wasn't just us, while we waited for our food we saw other customers who were behind us in line turn to each other with confused looks as she was rude to them as well. After we threw the burnt fish and chips away after eating only a few bites some of us were still hungry and stood in line for Threshers fries, just across the parking lot (the one next door to Go Fish wasn't open yet). They were *awesome* My take: This wasn't authentic at all - it was a poor copy of English fish and chips and badly executed. The service was the opposite of friendly. Came here to try their take on fish and chips while visiting Rehoboth Beach. Decided to eat in the restaurant, but they had a takeout window as well. We were seated by a pleasant hostess and ordered the fried clams appetizer and order of "chips" (fries) and an order of the fish and chips, which was made using the fish of the day cod. Our food arrived hot and although the fish was tasty, the coating was a bit greasy. The clams were just your run of the mill frozen ones that you can purchase at the grocery, which was a great disappointment. They had other traditional British fare on the menu like bangers and mash and the like. All in all it was okay, but nothing to write home about. On my next visit to Rehoboth Beach, l may try them again and order more traditional fare. read more

Hidden gem. Everything we ordered was delicious (fish n chips, fisherman's pie, mahi mahi sandwich, crab dip) and the theme of the restaurant was fun. Spoke with someone who worked at the restaurant (guessing the owner?) and she explained that everything served -- except for the children's chicken nuggets -- is made in-house. Updating to confirm that even seven years after I first reviewed Go Fish, it still has among the best fish and chips anywhere. As Rehoboth was technically still in off-season when I stopped in yesterday, Go Fish was mostly empty, and we were seated right away. After ordering, a hot plate of fried Alaskan pollock and chips arrived maybe only 10 minutes later. I was worried the fish and chips wouldn't be as good as in my memory, or had gone down hill over the years. But one first bite was enough to know that it was all still perfect. The batter was perfectly crunchy, the fish cooked just right, and the finger-width chips weren't an afterthought, but hot, crisp, and fried golden yellow. Sometimes these types of beach towns, or any of the places you've vacationed over the years, have mainstay restaurants that get worse over time. When that happens, what a downer it is. Not only is the present meal a dud, but it almost defiles your memory of how good the place used to be. I could even name a restaurant or two where that has happened in the Rehoboth area. Since this place is right by the boardwalk, I expected it to be mediocre and overpriced. Wrong. I had the fish with salad (instead of chips). The cook brought out the plates... as retro Brit-pop played. The fish had a perfect combination of crisp batter and oiliness.
