Hardly a first class experience as advertised. 1. We arrived early in order to be first in line to get our choice of seats. Instead of boarding us in order, we were told to load our own luggage. Instead of boarding first come, first serve, he called names off his roster alphabetically by first name. The several times I've taken the Go Bus it's always been boarded by first come first serve. 2. Every time I've taken the Go Bus, we were given water. I didn't bring my water bottle intentionally knowing that we would be given water. When I asked the driver about it, he said no water. I asked why, he didn't have an answer. He said he was given a permission to stop at the Delaware house and everybody can get off and go buy water. I told him that was ridiculous... We just need to go to New York.. 3. I pulled down the water bottle holder and there was an old piece of rotted fruit in it. I'm took a picture of it, which I will send to you if need be. Just disgusting 4. No wi-fi. The driver said it wasn't working. 5. Tyson's stop. Several people were late... instead of speaking to them privately, he used the microphone so that we could all hear him reprimand them. After they were on board, we sat for seven or eight minutes before we left. 6. Broken toilet seat and the hand sanitizer was empty. 7. Fold down tray tables aren't even provided, so it's challenging to do any work. 8. Return trip...a slightly better experience. However, the bus was not in good shape...tears in the seats and just kind of clean. Hardly the first class bus service you advertised on the web site. read more

Just a cheap way to getting from VA to NY The buses are not fancy at all. But they have Wi-Fi, power outlets, and a single restroom. I read a lot of reviews complaining about their unpunctuality. However, both times that I traveled through gobuses, they have been on time. From Nova to New York is an average of 4 hours but traffic can delay your arrival time. It's not spacious. I'm small and I felt like there was not enough leg room, so a bigger person might find it to be uncomfortable. I'm giving it 3 stars. This will definitely be my main transportation whenever I want to go to NYC. It might not be glamorous but it gets you to your destination. read more

Horrible experience! My son took GoBus from Virginia to NYC 2 weeks ago on a 90 degree day. When boarding, he was told that the AC wasn't working. They did not give out water like they used to and he sat on a fykk bus for 5 1/2 hours in very high heat. Every passenger was complaining that they could not breath and was dripping profusely. Why in the world did they not send a new bus or contact anyone prior to boarding, at that point you are already at the bus station and can't find alternate travel plans. He contacted GoBus several times but they have not responded. They can really care less about the health and safety of their passengers. If someone died would they have been concerned??? My son asked for a refund but they still have not even reached out to him. He will be taking Best Bus for now on. read more

What a great way to relax on your way to or from the big city. Luggage check under the bus and grab a bottle of water as you board. Free WiFi. Chairs recline and windows are large and clean so you can take pictures of the NYC skyline as you wave bye to NYC Best part is the buses typically don't stop and they are quite. Traveled roundtrip last weekend (August 11-12) from Vienna Metro to Manhattan and return. Trip to NY was on time and trouble free. The wifi and the outlets worked and the bathroom was clean. Return trip from Manhattan was about 40 minutes late in departing due to construction work that delayed the inbound bus. To their great credit, the dispatchers provided us with regular updates on the status of the bus. All of the amenities on the return trip also worked well. Happy to ride Go Bus and will do so again. read more

The trip from Manassas was uneventful despite the unscheduled stop to pick up a driver. This caused us to arrive an hour late. The return trip was another kettle of fish. We got to the Manhattan stop about 15 minutes early. There was a lot of confusion about which bus was going where. The weather was *FREEZING* but the driver of the Boston bus didn't care and left his passengers standing in the cold. Another bus then arrived from Boston. The driver, Martin Coulson, is, as far as I can tell, the only decent person in the Company. He listened patiently as we complained about where our bus was. The bus finally arrived about 5 minutes after scheduled departure time. We are now all painfully cold but the driver of our bus did not let us on. Martin went to investigate on our behalf. He came back, shaking his head to inform us that the driver was eating his lunch! Fury ensued and the driver finally allowed us to board. Explaining to the driver that we didn't have a problem with him eating his lunch, but he shouldn't let passengers wait in the cold. The driver then complained that he had just driven up from Virginia and that he was very tired, the implication that we should pity him. The driver then walked the length of the bus. He then made an inappropriate remark to my sons 17 year old girlfriend. She laughed it off luckily for him. The restroom was disgusting, the driver was sloppy. I complained to the driver who proceeded to tell me how hard he had it and that I was ungrateful. I would complain to the company but they clearly don't give a damn. FYI. This was bus #6722 from Manhattan to VA on Saturday, February 29th at 1pm. read more

The absolute fucking worst excuse for a bus company. Not only did we leave 30 mins late. We lost 2 hours along the way. How the fuck do you do that?. Supposed to arrive at 8:30, but at 10 the driver realizes he's out of time and stops on the fucking Hiway. We wait 50 mins for another driver, and did I mention the bathroom doesn't work. We finally arrive 3 hours late and no one says a fucking word. Listen saving a couple of bucks isn't worth the aggro. There are too many other companies out there. Go bus is no go. read more

Summary in brief: Nothing fancy but I tried this bus round trip to NYC at the recc of a friend who takes it often. Busses were on time each way and the drivers are so friendly, focused on safety, and give routine announcements to keep everyone in the loop. On the way up, I thought wow, what a nice guy who's really good at his job. On the way back, new driver, just as nice, just as conscientious. I'm really impressed! If you don't want to deal with taking your car to the city, and are fine with no frills this is a great way to go. Longer details for fact-finding and trip planning: Amenities -seats are cushioned, -you get a bottle of water. -I would caution that while there is Free WiFi, it is spotty making it a bit challenging to get work done that requires a good internet connection (This was my intention and actually the main reason I decided not to drive myself). -I have been on cushier, fancier, and more expensive coaches for sure. It feels a bit cramped if the bus is full. On the way back I've got the 2 seats to myself and it's much more comfortable. -There are power outlets below the seat. - There is a cup holder in front of you. -There is no tray for your laptop. You'll need to put it on your lap. And if you've got someone next to you, bc the seats are tight, it's not soo easy to work. - There is one small restroom. Can't comment on cleanliness bc I didn't use it. -There is storage under the bus and very small overhead bins on the bus. Don't plan on taking copious luggage pieces. This bus is geared towards quick weekend travelers. For what I had (small suitcase, backpack, large purse), it was ok. Larger overhead bins would have been better though. -Again, drivers are awesome. Friendly, good drivers, conscientious, communicative, and care about safety. Price Again, it's nothing fancy but it's adequate transportation for a very reasonable twice. I spent about $25 each way. I believe the price can go a bit higher during peak travel times, like Sunday nights. I think it can also go a little lower, too. Locations in NOVA & NYC I chose this bus bc other methods of transport from Fairfax/Loudoun area is a PITA! I have done the drive to Reston, park, & metro into DC for bus or train. Toooo long and complicated! I'm from NYC- I like easy public transportation! There isn't a lot of accessibility from Loudoun besides flying out of Dulles which is more expensive for sure but sometimes a decent option. If you know your plans way in advance you can snag $65 each way. But also, while convenient on this end, know that it is pricey & far when you have to cab it to Manhattan, especially if you've flown into JFK or Newark instead of LGA. I UBERed to the Gainesville Commuter Lot in Manassas from Ashburn. It was pricey! But easy. I was curious about driving and parking but I did not find clear info on the commuter lot website, although I did find reviewers saying they do it and never had issues and apparently they don't pay anything either? (Me personally, I need to go on something more official b4 I'll leave my car for 4 days in some random lot!). The lot is small, easy to navigate and easy to clearly see where the bus will be. The bus also stops in Vienna/Fairfax at the GMU metro stop. For me, the 2 locations were actually about the same distance away in diff directions. Ultimately, I chose Manassas bc I figured it might be an easier drive during rush hour trying to catch an early weekday morning bus. I was right. Traffic wasn't too bad as compared to the DC traffic going east at that time of morning. You are dropped off in midtown Manhattan on West 30th btwn 9th & 10th aves. If you plan to take the subway, you'll need to walk a little bit to the right station (depending on what subway you need; diff subways run on diff avenues). But if you have luggage and/or you don't know the city well, just make it easy for yourself and hail a cab or call an UBER. read more

I've used Go Buses a few times when traveling from VA to NY. First couple of times I had no issue, it was great and prompt. However recently I traveled again from VA to NY round trip and as I sat down I scratched myself pretty bad against a sharp stub that was sticking out. I emailed and even tweeted go Buses regarding this matter but no one ever reached back out to me. I was generally emailing to notify them regarding this in hopes it wouldn't happen to someone else, unfortunately my messages fell on deaf ears. I would hope no one else gets a scar like this. Also when returning back to VA our bus broke down, after 35mins with no AC, our driver was able to get the bus started. I don't like being wounded during my bus trips and ignored when I notify the company, so I will probably never use then again. read more

I took a round trip from Fairfax to Manhattan and I had a good experience. The bus was on time both ways, the bus was clean, the drivers were very nice, and the best part is the round trip cost was only $60. Only problem I noted was that the seats were too small. I got lucky and did not have anyone sitting next to me both ways, however if the bus is crowded it might be uncomfortable. Overall this is a great option if you want to travel to New York. However if you plan your trip in advance you might be able to get the Amtrak "Saver" fare, which I have seen as low as $49 from Union Station to Penn Station in New York. If you can get that rate then the train is the way too go. read more

We have used this bus service from Washington DC to New York City and back several times. No real complaints with the transportation. The seats are OK comfort-wise. I'm not high maintenance, so the fact I'm not having to drive this route makes things decent. The WiFi on every bus I have been on sucks, contributing to only the three star review. I am on a go bus right now going to New York from Washington DC. The bus is comfortable, clean, and it was on time. People were talking to each other loud. I received a phone call the driver told me it was not aloud. I am a soft spoken person and usually people ask me to talk louder so that they can hear me even sitting across a conference table. I usually drive myself to NY and decided to try the bus. I have already decided this is the last time I take Go Bus or any bus for that matter. read more

I would not recommend using this bus company. There is a reason why tickets are so cheap I booked a round trip ticket from Alexandria, VA to NY and about 2 weeks later I received a refund email from Academy Express. When I called I was told that some trips had been cancelled.(I never got an email from Go Buses explaining it had been cancelled or offering other times available.) I re-booked it again on the phone and then about a week letter I received another refund email. When I logged into my account to purchase again for the 3rd time the system would not accept my credit card. When I called to do it on the phone I was told my transaction failed and was asked to use another card. At that point I cancelled the whole thing and booked with Vamoose very easily using the card I had just tried to use with Go Buses. read more

I do not recommend to anyone And this is my last time traveling with Gobuses, I am right now on the Bus (07-09-19 tysons corner to Manhattan) and the driver drives way below speed limit for some unknown reason while there is usual traffic we are delay 2 hours according to my GPS unfortunately I travel with same driver in morning and I was delay 1 hour, each way 15-20 minutes late on the stop and 40 minutes to 1 hour 40 Minutes delay on the way just because the driver drives way slow than the speed limits, unbelievable read more

I sent an email to their contact person on their website the day after my trip and asked for a response before I said I would go to social media. Unfortunately for them, they ignored my request. Our party of 4 people was attempting to get the bus in NY after a weekend trip. Unfortunately the traffic in NY was horrendous. We gave ourselves an hour to get to the bus but due to so many street closures we had to hop out of our cab and 'run' the last 4 blocks. I didn't make the crosswalk before the light turned and I had to wait for the traffic to die down and crosswalk to be available again. As I started to cross, I see my bus starting to pull away. They were going to leave me even though it was clear I was almost there and 3 of the people in my group were already there. Finally they let me on at 5:32 when the bus was scheduled to leave at 5:30. Immediately I knew there would be concerns when instead of merging into traffic right outside of the city, the bus driver barreled through a Service station to go around traffic at an alarming speed. Throughout the trip the driver wove in and out of all lanes as if he was driving a small sports car. Since I was sitting so close to the front of the bus I was able to see first hand how dangerous his driving was. At one point I started video recording the driving for proof of the erratic driving as well as clocking his speed that was averaging 70mph throughout the trip. (Pictures to prove it). In the tunnel he switched lanes on a solid white line after tailgating a car for 3/4 of the tunnel. As we merged onto 495 from 95 south, he crossed the solid white line to skip over 4 lanes to the fast lane, cutting everyone off behind him at a dangerous speed. Finally, as we were turning into the Vienna metro, he ran the red light to make an immediate right turn without slowing down. There was oncoming traffic that had to slam on their brakes to avoid a head on collision and he did not slow down around the traffic circles. We made it in less than 4 hours. While I can appreciate wanting a timely journey, the excessive speeds and erratic driving with a bus FULL of people is unacceptable. There needs to be more concern for people's safety by this driver. read more

We left Vienna train station on time The bus driver checked everyone in and we loaded our suitcases into the storage area at the bottom of the bus. As you walk on you can grab a bottle of water which is included in the cost of your ticket. The seats are comfortable. There is some storage in an overhead compartment as well as under the seat in front of you. There are charges under each seat. I enjoyed a fast and quiet ride to NYC. The ride took exactly 4 hours. We left at 9:30 am and arrived in NYC at 1:30. I highly recommend the go bus. read more

You get what you pay for. Trip between Tysons Corner and New York was prompt and driver was courteous; check-in efficient and we were glad for the Tysons location since we live in McLean. BUT bus was cramped and seats uncomfortable for 4 hour ride, with no pocket or try to store reading material, iPad or food (and cup holder was so weak that it couldn't hold up free bottle of water). WORSE: bathroom didn't work from start of trip so you couldn't use and WiFi stopped working about 30 minutes into trip. So for $18 a seat, we got to our destination but a lot worse for wear than we had hoped or expected. read more

5 years ago my grandfather left my grandmother for a 29 year old prostitute and the disappointment I felt in his utter disregard for basic decency doesn't match the disappointment that I felt with my Go Bus experience. We hadn't gotten even gotten to the second stop of our bus ride to New York before the bus driver pulled off and had us all wait for 20 minutes. We had no idea why. We get back on the highway and he drives us a couple of miles before pulling off ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. There the bus driver announces that the bus is breaking down and we will have to wait an absurd amount of time before it is fixed. This left me (and I will assume many other passengers) with questions. 1) Why didn't he just stay at the last place that wasn't putting us at risk of being hit by cars going 80 mph? 2) Didn't they realize that the bus was breaking down a little sooner? 3) Do they not perform routine inspections and maintenance to prevent this? (Answer: no. They are only worried about getting your money, not safety) 4) Will we make it to New York?! 5) Will the Yankees win their playoff game?! 5) Why is ketchup refrigerated in your home, but not at restaurants?! Stay tuned for answers. In the mean time, if you are looking to answer the question, "should I use go bus?" The answer is NO. Save the money. It would be safer and quicker to hitchhike in a van with a man who looks like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite. NAY, it would be better to ride on a flaming unicycle attached to a Ford Pinto that is being driven by a raccoon. read more

I've used this service at least 4 times per month over the last 4 years. It has gone downhill. The current bus has no waters, no cup holders and is a POS... shakes and squeaks with every pothole. Will be using the rival service from now on. read more

The staff were friendly and helpful, however the lack of a policy governing minor children turned a 5 hour ride from NYC to a nightmare experience. Groups of children 6-10 years old were allowed to sit away from the adult supervision and they continued to act up being loud and rude the entire time. read more

There was never a customer service representative to answer my call or return my messages, despite the fact that their hours were stated as 6:30am to 6:30pm.
