Our family had a graduation, celebration dinner at Gnocchi. We went with the "Chef's Choice" for the table (5 person minimum). Service was fantastic! We will definitely return. Note, byob which is no issue Cash onl

The most delicious Italian food you will have. It is my favorite restaurant. The owner is very nice and so is the other waitress as well. The place is small and cozy. Everything on the menu is delicious you cannot go wrong with anything. The cannolis are so amazing, the hazelnut biscuit cake is also very good as well but the panna cotta!!! You have to try it!!!

I'm traveling around the world and staying in Philly for a few weeks near this place and WOW. Some of the best food I've had in ages. Reminds me of a really good home cooked meal but the environment is very upscale without being obnoxious. The staff has been very friendly and I never had to way long for my meal. I'd rate it higher if I could.

CASH ONLY RESTAURANT. Take note, y'all, because I did not. I'm pretty sure all of their pasta and such is made in-house, so you really can't beat that. It's a wood-y vibe that makes it feel cozy, and it says "gnocchi" in very large letters on the wall (my sisters and I had a great time trying to figure out of the 'g' in 'gnocchi' was a very fancy capitalized G or a very large in size lowercase g). The stars for us were the meatball appetizer and the mushroom ravioli. The meatballs were just made of good meat, were tender, and the sauce added the best flavor to them. The mushroom ravioli came highly recommended by our water and for good reason. The mushroom flavor was strong, and the raviolis were FRESH. I got the pacheri, and though it was good, I didn't think it was amazing. It felt like a dish with a lot of elements that were just thrown together rather than something cohesive. And since this place is called gnocchi, we HAD to try it. It was mostly good, but the texture of the gnocchi were inconsistent. Some were the perfect bite, but some were much harder than they should have been. The service is the type of service where they treat you like family in that borderline uncomfortable way because even though they treat you like family they're not actually family. So for example, one waiter took my dad's phone to take a photo and he was like "Oh no, your girlfriend's calling!" when my mom was sitting right there. Love that it was open late though! We came by at around 9:30pm and appreciated their open kitchen.

Insanely delicious Italian food for a respectable price, "Gnocchi" in south Philly offers delectable dishes in a quaint bistro setting. The bolognese and spinach gnocchi are perfection. The side of fresh bread is toasty and warm. The service is friendly and the restaurant wisps you to Tuscany. A fantastic South Philly destination. 5/5!

This is my perfect Italian night. Frank Sinatra playing in the background, simple decor with character, small menu with the essentials, delicious food that you can tell is made with love and great service.

Best kept secret in Philadelphia. Been eating an Italian restaurants for 60 years and nothing comes close to this place and their hand-cut, hand-made gnocchi. Shockingly, friendly and helpful service. We walked in 45 minutes before they even opened and instead of telling us to come back, they welcomed us to stay. Attentive service, reasonably priced cannot recommend it enough - will be back again and again.

This is an incredible little cash only, BYOB place. Soft lighting, intimate tables they aren't too close together. We had excellent service from the whole staff on a night without a reservation. The menu is a manageable size with a decent amount of options but there were so many daily specials too. We started with the special app - burrata with tomato and fresh basil, omg so good with bread. My party got two special entrees and the chicken parm. The portion of pasta was huge and they gave him a hunk of chicken! The sauce was super good and you could tell it was made there. I thought the portion of ravioli was small as a meal but it was so good. Sage and lobster! The other entree we shared was the clam linguini in a white wine sauce. Lots of pasta and delicious clams. The dessert tray was irresistible and I 100% recommend the cheesecake and the tiramisu! So spongy and light with whipped cream omg. We will be back and we will bring everyone here!

Note that with the lunch menu, appetizers are not on the menu, but because we were eating later and because maybe of our party size, they let us order anything from the dinner menu as well. I chose the fettucine alfredo with chicken. Oh so generous of a serving, and had to bring home half. Simply made, so so good. I loved how the linguine had some bite to it. From…read morethe speakeasy vibe of the restaurant to its South Philly culinary inspiration, it was an amazing meal that we'll always remember. We ordered a number of things to share family style - - The Artichoke Francaise appetizer was something we'd never seen before on a menu, so we wanted to try. It was so good and I'm still trying to dupe it at home for my vegetarian hubs. - My husband is a eggplant parm connoisseur, so we also ordered their Eggplant 'Parmigiana' appetizer. He said it was good. - Ricotta Tortelloni was delicious and our favorite savory dish. The aged balsamic cuts through all the richness of the cheeses perfectly. It was so good! - To round off the meal, we ordered dessert and ordered the tiramisu. Glad we did because Giuseppe's & Son's has the BEST tiramisu that either of us has ever tasted. Ava was our waiter that evening. She was the best! When I mentioned my husband was vegetarian, she made sure to clear with him if certain ingredients in the dishes were ok with him. It's a big relief whenever that happens when we dine out. Plus, she was friendly and convivial. The tables at either side of us liked her too. That quality is important and adds to the overall experience for diners. Just had to shout out. Giuseppe's is hands-down a wonderful place and a gem. This past Saturday evening, as it was our son's 53rd birthday, we took him, and his family, out to dinner at this outstanding restaurant. All of us truly loved every aspect of our dining experience. Every dish was made to order, as everything at Dante and Luigi's is fresh and made from scratch. The service is also excellent, and there are additional important benefits to dining there. For example, you have the opportunity to valet your car, and thereby not spend a considerable amount of time seeking a parking place. In addition, at the conclusion of your excellent dining experience, if you decide to pay your bill with CASH, you actually are provided a 10% reduction in the entirety of your total bill, which is usually a considerable savings for most of us. Our son and his family recently moved to Delaware from Florida, and now our son, like his father, fully agrees with my having always often stated, over and again, during the past 25 years, why Dante and Luigi's is my very favorite restaurant anywhere in the nation, [and I have literally been in every state.] Dante and Luigi's is simply outstanding, and I, therefore, urge all who are anywhere near Philadelphia to consider dining there when you next plan to go out for dinner. We ordered two of the famous spicy caesar salads (must order!!), a ricotta toast, a White Claw pizza, and a finished off our meal sharing two chocolate budinos. The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso. We won't talk about how I ended up with some of it on my white turtleneck... Service was friendly and QUICK! We ordered, and I swear we had our first dishes in less than 10 minutes. Upside, is you're just a short walk from the 13th St. Septa Station, and you're literally equidistant from Broad and Market streets. Pro-tip: Killer happy hour specials, but only at the bar.
