Do not send a vegan to buy meat!…read more I decided to do something for the crew, so I told everyone that I would grill up some carne asada for them before I leave. Everyone knew it would be Monday. I wanted everyone to have that fuzzy feeling of live fire, cooking what you eat, instead of ordering a pizza or catering. I didn't think the crew would mind if, over the weekend, I changed my mind and instead of grilling, I would just order pizza or get some BBQ from a local spot. I was mistaken. I got to the office and I see that the crew had prepared for the event. They wanted that carne asada and I needed to step up and get that carne asada. I sprung out to buy all the essentials. I found out that leaving everything for the last minute on Memorial Day weekend is not smart at all, BUT La Loma Produce 12 made my life easy! I had no idea what to order or how to order for two different groups of people in the morning shift and in the night shift. The meat attendant explained to me how to cover everyone and to make sure I had some extras... so, thank you! Everyone loved the meat they had. I am sooo pleased that someone offered to grill the carne asada and happy that La Loma helped this lonely vegan...

Ok, I admit it - I was expecting the store and experience to be exactly like BevMo!. Nothing wrong with their competitor, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Located in the Gellert Marketplace, there is plenty of parking for patrons. The liquor store is also conveniently neighbours with other retailers such as Sprouts Farmers Market and PetSmart as well as food & beverage joints like the Habit Burger Grill, Panera Bread, and Starbucks. The venue, ornamented in hues of brown, is huge, but escapes the brightly lit warehouse feel, which is cool. We arrived at the retailer of fine wines from around the world, also stocking beers and accessories, shortly before 7:30 PM, grabbed a cart at the front entrance, filling it with a few cases of canned/bottled beers, coolers, etc. While perusing the vodka and tequila sections, Edgar introduced himself to us and helped us decide on a good vodka at a great price, TOWER VODKA. He also assisted us with choosing a couple of bottles of smooth tasting tequilas that wouldn't break our wallets, CIMARRON BLANCO and LLEGADO BLANCO. Everyone at our party the next day who took shots of tequila voted between CIMARRON and LLEGADO. I preferred the latter. Really appreciated Edgar's proposal on getting two smaller bottles of tequila to try each out instead of purchasing one big bottle. He delivered top notch service as well as warm and interesting conversation. We will definitely be visiting Total Wine & More for our spirit shopping, especially for our parties. When we do, we hope to work with Edgar again.

Great service at checkout the reason for a four rather than three star review…read more In the aisles I had to repeat myself two or three times to crew members. Why could nobody understand me? Ditto my son who had the same complaint. I don't have an accent; I enunciate clearly. And expensive, oh my gosh. I swerved away from $6.99 bags of lemons and carefully shopped for anything else. I picked up our "Too Good To Go" bag- the reason for our visit- with three wedges of promising cheeses and bought $65 in groceries. No matter your income bracket - and I'm grateful I'm comfortable- you have to shop carefully at Whole Foods. This Whole Foods has better-than-average produce and well-stocked grocery aisles. They did vastly improve product displays so there aren't dead-end mazes like last time I shopped (I recall running into a 5-foot cul-de-sac of boxes of seltzer!) Magic Eight Ball still reads: "Ask again later".
