Located next to Burger King at 280 Metro Center in Colma, The Vitamin Shoppe has had a location here for years. Very easy to find a parking spot, too! Inside, the store is quite big and has pretty-much every single vitamin and supplement you could ever ask for. Sometimes this makes finding something a bit daunting from their massive selection. However, usually there's a staff member who will greet me quickly and ask me what I need. By now, however, I know exactly where I need to go so I usually beeline it in, get my things, and head up to the counter. The Vitamin Shoppe sets up your account via your phone number. During registration, you can also give them your email address (I do since I like to have my receipts emailed to me). The other thing is that they have BOGO store specials almost permanently, which is a good thing. ;-) read more

I've been a Vitamin Shoppe customer for 15 years. For the past seven years, I've been going to the San Francisco location, which relocated to Colma, CA. I live about 15-20 minutes away, and it's worth the drive--I visit about twice every other month. The employees have always been exceptional; they've been a cornerstone for my health and fitness needs and are generous with their knowledge. I thought I was a special customer until I saw they were treating everyone the same way--bummer! read more

Normally have good service but the cashier at 3pm wasn't the best. Made me feel as if I was going to steal what I already paid for. Plus I'm a regular, last time walking in this location. Do better with customer service read more

Best selection of supplements and a very supportive and knowledgeable staff! They always have great product recommendations and suggestions when I'm looking for new products. read more

This place usually is a very nice place to shop, but today Employee #13165 has changed my opinion, after spending $60 plus dollars i was rudely being rushed out. There was no one else in line and I was just trying to put my wallet away. My patience was really tested. I spent the rest of the day, thinking that I should have said some choice words, but I'll let Karma and his corporate office deal with him. read more

I needed a ton of stuff: Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) 2. Alpha-Lipoic Acid 3. Vitamin C Supplement 4. L-Tyrosine Supplement 5. 5-HTP Supplement 6: Phosphatidylserine They had EVERYTHING and the dude knew where everything was and omg, it was the best experience ever. Thanks so much. read more

It was my first time at this store. The guy that works there is not friendly at all and mean. When I asked him something he seems irritated and annoyed. His action speak louder than words is so bad. He seems like discriminating me because when he was helping the other customer he is friendly and when it comes to me he is unfriendly, and asshole guy. I wanna say something but I'll just do it here. I will not come back to that store again. Worst service ever. He deserve a 0 start. read more

I go to the vitamin shop because it is close to my house. this is my second time feeling racially profiled while shopping. They ask me repeatedly did I need help after i said no thank thank you. When I went up to register the guy proceeded to ask me if I was going to pay for the items in my hand. It's absolutely rude to question a customer if they are going to pay. The reason I don't accept their services is due to the lack of friendliness I've seen and experience. I think if you are a BLACK OR BROWN PERSON WHO WANTS HEALTHY VITMAINS AND CAN TRAVEL SUPPORT RAINBOW GROCERY, they will actually know the products and can better explain. Lastly I would also recommend the the vitamin shoppe on 16th on SF, very friendly people. read more

This Vitamin Shoppe has come through for me so many times that the time has come to write a review! Where do I even start?! I've had this misconception that the Vitamin Shoppe is only for muscle heads and bodybuilders. I was flat out wrong. This place is a pregnant lady's dream - Garden of Life prenatal vitamins and probiotics, they got 'em! Floradix liquid iron supplements because you're anemic? They got 'em! Papaya enzyme for heartburn because your baby is going to have lots of hair? They got it! Castor oil to naturally induce labor? They got it! Postpartum and need Garden of Life protein/weight loss powder that's safe for breastfeeding? They got that! Milled flaxseed for lactation cookies because Trader Joe's is all sold out? They got that too! Fancy bone broth to drink to speed up healing? They got that as well! If you're pregnant or postpartum, this place surprisingly has many midwife approved remedies, vitamins and supplements. Yes the prices are a tad bit on the pricey side but they have GREAT sales AND a convenient location! I can't always get to Whole Foods in San Mateo to get what I need. Sometimes Trader Joe's is sold out of what I need and places like Target or Safeway is very hit or miss on what I need. I've also had much success with ordering online for in store pick up! Fabulous! I'm always greeted by the staff, even when I try to make a beeline to exactly what I want. They still take the time to ask me if I found everything okay. I like that! They really are friendly. Even on the phone too when I've called them to check on if they carry Boiron Sinusalia (they do!) You've won me over Vitamin Shoppe. You've won me over! read more

I like going to this branch because they seem to carry most of the stuff that I need or take when I workout. The staff are pretty helpful including providing information if you need it. I still have to consider the option of having to subscribe their delivery system for items that I normally get but that is to be determined. read more

Welcome Vitamin Shoppe!! It's located at 280 Metro Center in Colma (my favorite necropolis) It's taken over 1/3 of the space vacated by Barnes & Noble (the side that housed the Starbucks) Now..at first glance it appears to be just like a GNC (General Nutrition Center) which also has a presence in this strip mall. My cynical side naturally had pretty low expectations for a place with "shoppe" in it's name! "Ye Olde Vitamin Shoppe"....anywho...once inside I was impressed with the vast selection...brands I'd never heard of, some I've read about in health magazines or glimpsed at Whole Foods but hadn't yet tried, etc. The gent that greeted me was friendly, but not at all pushy, as I roamed the aisles looking at all the colorful bottles of supplements, potions, beauty products. However, once I did ask a question I was impressed that more information was requested of me...such as overall health, any allergies and the like, before giving me any suggestions/product recommendations! (Very un-GNC like!) The overall vibe was that these folks are much more educated in wellness and perhaps NOT just 100% focused on pushing products on you that may or may not be a fit! In this day and age...great customer service IS a reason to patronize a business, and this place has it!! Stop on by and "shoppe" 'til you drop! See you at the fish oil counter! read more

Felt racially profiled, treated like we were shoplifting. Went in with my daughter to buy protein bars and the sole salesperson was on us like white on rice. The "One Bar" boxes were buy one get one 50% off but the moment I touched the open box she went to check the other open box so I ended up just getting two bars. She removed the only two open boxes and put them behind her on the register. Not going here again, nor shall we be making any online purchases. Just lost a good customer. read more

I was a VS regular for years in another part of the country. When I moved to Nor Cal there were none local to be found. I can buy VS products online, but I am a shopper who likes to use more of my senses (see, hear, touch, smell, etc.) which a store provides. I was happy when I stumbled upon the VS Colma store. Pros: The store is clean and neat. The store has a good variety. Some items are fairly expensive, but competitive with other high end specialty vitamin/nutrition stores. They provide research tools in the store - computer, literature, etc. that is helpful. I also like the reward program. Cons: The store does not seem to get a lot of customer traffic. The consistency in the customer service from the staff (humans - go figure) varies greatly with regard to their friendliness and helpfulness. The combination of low store customer traffic and inconsistency in customer service may impact this store's survival rate. read more

It's kind of hard to go into this place without remembering our dearly loved Barnes & Noble! (Yes, it's unrelated..but maybe that's the reason it took me so long to go in here? Jk) First time to ever check this place out, there is always new healthy things I've never seen before. The employees really know what they are talking about. I had a question and the sales associate immediately knew what I was looking for! Whoot! prices are not too shabby. It's worth checking out. They also have a rewards program, which is a great incentive for something you are going to purchase anyways! read more

I frequent this location due to it's convenience and competitive pricing. I never go to GNC. They have a wide variety of supplements to choose from and with sale price, they're all fair considering that most of the time they even match Amazon's pricing. Staff is cool. I don't really go there with 1 million questions, I don't go there at all with questions. I usually know what I want when I get there so I have no issues. I don't like being bothered or trying to be sold on their products so it's a hassle free experience. read more

This was my first time at Vitamin Shoppe. They have a big selection of products to choose from, much bigger than gnc and less expensive as well. I bought symbiotics colostrum which was surprisingly close to the same price online .Customer service is mediocre, they are knowledgeable about where the products are at but not the studies behind them. Not the nicest service I have had from a vitamin and supplement store, maybe they should get on some of their own products like l tyrosine or phenylethylamine. Besides the cons of this place, I had a nice experience browsing their supplements to kill some time. read more

I love Vitamin Shoppe! Everything I need is always here @ an affordable price too. The customer service is great & I've never felt like the employees were being super pushy or know it alls (cough cough GNC). I also like that they have the option of ordering something online, paying for it then simply picking it up in store without having to pay for shipping. read more

They Finally opened a Vitamin Shoppe near me; I used to drive to Mountain view and Van Ness to get my supps. I recommend this place for their selection, friendly service and reasonable prices. Their prices beats GNC on any given day. I also recommend signing up with their rewards system, it's free a good way to receive free goodies from them. read more

Came here looking for the Gaia Turmeric Boost, the lady told me just to take the Gaia capsule and dissolve it in water in place of a 4.5 g packets. I am better off going to GNC, at least they have samples that I can try while I am in there. They don't even carry Rainbow Light Power Sours® Multivitamin Gummies. read more

I can't believe I wasn't greeted when I came in. I was so upset I walked out. I sat in my car and thought about what just happened to me. Yes, me. I said it! It's all about me. How can I buy my supplements now? How can I buy something if I wasn't greeted? Oh yah, who cares. I'm a big baby and I need to be greeted! The non greet experience totally ruined my day. I went home and ended my 10 year marriage that day. My wife said, "Honey, what's wrong?" I said," I wasn't greeted at Vitamin Shopee, that's what's wrong! We are over, life is over until I get a greet!" Ok, back to review. I came in and wasn't greeted. I walked over to protein powder and since I'm not a big adult baby, read the ingredients on multiple bottles, made a selection, walked to the counter, pulled out my wallet and made the purchase. Oh yah, guess what? The cashier who didn't greet me was actually very nice and just busy when I walked in. read more

After reading the reviews, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get my supplement here or go to Whole Foods. But, I thought I'd give them a try because I knew exactly what I wanted, and thought that as long as the clerk could point me in the right direction, I would be okay. Apparently, the management has gotten the message about the customer service issue because the very nice young lady at the counter greeted me when I entered, escorted me to the shelf where my supplement was located, and even sent me on my way with "Have a nice day!" That's all customers want and need - a little kindness. Good job! read more

On the night of February 10 I went to shop for my monthly visit your location on 115 Colma Blvd, Colma, CA 94014 (650) 756-2257 to buy my multivitamins and snacks, as I came in there was a gentleman that have helped me in the past who has been very helpful before and a lady who I have just found out to my shocking surprised she claims to be the store manager, her name is Melany. I had questions regarding my multivitamins because am still finding the one multivitamin that agrees the best with my system. I had to interrupt her deep conversation with the other gentlemen to ask for help and she did not look happy about it, as I ask questions she quickly answers with a blank face like she wanted me to get the hell out! She went back to her engaged conversation as I stood there in a shelf of countless vitamins with no answer, I stood there and did not found anything, so I went and tried to explain to her that I need it a vitamin that dissolves quickly for better absorption, her shocking answer left me speechless she said: "I thought we went over that already!" "What else it is it that you want to know? " I grab a bottle of the one that I thought I wanted and left, is the wrong vitamins of Couse; I refuse to go back and deal with that lady who does not want my business. I advise you to check the cameras to confirm what I'm telling you and use it in future trainings on how no to treat you loyal costumer. I work with one of the one of leading companies in the world that hold the genuine care and service for their guest like the most valuable prize. I don't know how is it that you choose your leaders or managers but this has been the most humiliating experience I have encounter in your corporation, I use to shop at GNC and let me tell you they have something to teach you about costumer service after I left your store I was thinking that no matter if you carry the brands I like you costumer service does not compensate the dollar I can save with you guys, I will be on vitamins and supplements for life because of my health conditions I am so sorry to informed you, you have lost a costumer for life. read more

By far, a better selection of items than GNC and it is much bigger.

I am obsessed with vitamin shoppe! This location is well-lit and clean with tons of parking. The workers are always available and ready to help. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and that's really nice. I've come in here 3 times already and always get exactly what I'm looking for. Anytime I have any questions whether or not they carry the items the workers know exactly what I'm talking about. Prices here can be pretty steep but with all the sales that happen frequently you can be sure to catch what you need at its best price. They also carry liquid vitamins as well as protein powders. Take a walk around this store and you are bound to find something that will interest you. It definitely makes me want to have supplements for everything. So cool. They also have a cosmetic section where they have natural cosmetics as well as skin treatments. read more
