So this is mainly for the new store manager on board, i believe her name Ana ? I came in today to buy some Ghost protein powder which was on the wall as usual. The powder said 35.99 and i asked Ana 4 times and pointed the price and she said "if it's there, then that's the price" so i grabbed 2 tubs which then came out to 110 bucks. She then said if it's too much to leave them and put it back. At vitamin shoppe they were cheaper than 52 bucks, but she didn't offer to price match or anything. Pretty rude to begin with. I still purchased the product but again, isn't the part of managing making sure the proper products are in the spot, otherwise that's false advertising - i miss the previous manager, always so sweet and helpful, as well ass the other employees both Jacob and Edith who usually kept the store clean and actually correct products. It's 10:20 am Sat and the employee still hasn't opened the store. She has been walking around behind the counter with the lights out since 10:00am. i rarely go into GNC but today i decided to go in because i was made aware that they were having a $1 deal on alani drinks. i honestly was super excited but was disappointed in two major ways. for starters, i walked in and was not greeted at all. I honestly felt very intimidated, i did a FULL lap around the store until some older lady finally decided to ask if i needed help, i told her i wanted to see their alani selection and she rudely told me it was in the fridge. they had like 2 options and none to my liking. after the interaction with her, even if they had a good selection, I would've rather taken my business elsewhere. I should've looked at their name tags to see and make this review more detailed but I really just wanted to get out of there. I, myself, work in retail and I would NEVER not approach a customer, let alone speak to a customer with some nasty attitude. The other younger girl behind her (she had black hair I think) didn't even say anything either. Just felt like there was no sense of urgency to help a customer. I wish the service was better. I prefer to go to this GNC location even though there is one closer to where I live. I have been there multiple times and am able to get what I want plus Ana (not sure if she is a manager or employee) is always incredibly helpful and friendly. She offers to help me find what I came for and points out options. I especially appreciate that she always checks for coupons and rewards on my account so I get the best price. The reason I don't give 5 stars is because I sometimes still have to buy items online if this store doesn't stock a flavor I want. I've been here a few times and this time was different! Not only did I arrive a bit before opening time but their AMAZING new manager Anna let me in and did it with the biggest smile. She was so helpful and showed me where I could find more product in the store. We talked about different flavors of their Ghost pre workout drinks, (trying a few new flavors), because of the great sale ($1/can)! This was my first time buying something from GNC in over 10 years. Since I was in the Northridge mall meeting up with my girlfriend and decided to stop by GNC to see if they had The Rock ZOA drink which they did but only 1 flavor. So I got 1 bottle and went to pay for my item. There computer was really slow because it took a while for my item to get scan then get charge on my credit card. The lady working the cashier couldn't speak English that well but that wasn't the issue. She asked if I was a member and I said no, then I saw that my total price somehow rounded off to the next dollar. When I looked at the receipt I saw that I got charged for a livewell donation which I was never even asked about and I also saw someone member number was also on my receipt when I said I wasn't a member. I couldn't asked for a refund for the donation but I didn't want to be that person that ask for donation money back especially when it's just a couple of quarters so I just left. But I'm not planning on coming back to this GNC location again. read more

Paul was extremely knowledgeable and should honestly have been an NFL trainer. I have been training for nearly 15 years and learned things from Paul I didn't know. Best GNC experience I've ever had. Horrible customer service. One guy was flirting with another customer deep in conversation, and the other guy I guess just came back from break. I was right in the middle of a PURCHASE that was on the counter and I was asking some questions about the items in the refrigerator and I said no problem I'm just gonna take what's on the counter will you please ring me up? As I'm walking 2 steps from the refrigerator to the register, another customer comes in and starts asking questions to the guy and he leaves me to go help her. So here I am standing at the counter waiting for the guy to ring me up because he's answering questions for someone who came in AFTER me I asked if there was someone else who could ring me up and he shrugged and said they were the only 2 in the store. I came in to exchange products that did not work well for me and made me nauseous. We were greeted with a smile by Andrew who immediately helped me find what I wanted. As the transaction was being processed their system went down on the cash register and he was very quick to resolve the issue while providing excellent customer service. He maintained a positive attitude as costumers grew frustrated and became very rude. He was the only staff member there at the time but he maintained being professional. The manager who was staffed tonight showed a defensive posture when we noticed an item we bought was listed at one price but when we went to go pay for it the item was then priced 80% higher. While pointing this out the blonde manager gave a dirty look towards me as if I said something wrong as my wife took notice of her looking at me as such. She went to go and blame the discrepancy on other customers except she fails to not the sticker was made by GNC. The error was on her and GNC and we totally purchased a separate item instead but she was quite disrespectful to say the least. The person who rang us up however was excellent. Great selection of items here. I come frequently to this location. I'd give them five stars if the guy at the register wasn't so rude and upset with me for me not wanting to give him my email address. I understand I could save money by joining the reward program but I am very cautious and do not like to give out my email to often. This is not the first time I've been treated rudely when refusing to sign up?!?! I'd rather pay more and forfeit the discount and I have explained this to the employees more than once. I went to this GNC on 1/18/2022 to get a refund on an unused item. The clerk, Jila asked where I purchased the item. I proceeded to tell her that the item was purchased from another store. She then said they are corporate and they could only do an exchange. I proceeded to ask why and told her that I had made the drive to her store because I was close to the Reseda area. She then said that she can only do an exchange because they don't carry all items. The item that I was trying to exchange was a Vega protein powder that is carried in all of their stores. I asked if she had the item in her store. She refused to answer and said she could exchange it. I told her that I had found the item cheaper and had never opened it. She proceed to take the lid off to verify that it was unused. After she verified that it wasn't used, she said she couldn't do a refund. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me the manager wasn't there. I asked if she could call the manager. She said no because the manager was off. I asked when managers usually get off and why there wasn't a back up to speak to customers. She told me she didn't have to explain the manager's schedule to me, which was extremely rude. When I communicated how rude she was, she immediately stated talking over me. Her explanation just didn't fly. I then left the store with the store number to call the manager in the am. I also called the Van Nuys store and spoke with their manager who proceeded to tell me that Jila should've refunded the item because protein shakes are not a specialty item that is only carried in certain store. Since I'm at the mall and I started working out (New Years Resolutions) and needed to get back to basics, I went to GNC. If you become a member, you get 20% off any item on the first 7 days of each month. Buying supplements can get really expensive and from what I gathered this is a corporate store, which seems to keep these guys honest. This is by far the best location. Since I moved into this neighborhood over 10 year ago, I've been shopping from this store primarily. The staff has always been extremely helpful, especially when I don't know too much about the products they always take the time to explain everything and answer my questions. Compared to other locations, this one does have more of a selection. As for the costs of products compared to other similar shops, I don't understand why people complain that GNC is more expensive. I do shop around and compare cost and GNC does not seem to be any more expensive then any other place. Give this location a try -- great service & selection. read more

My husband and I came in to buy a few things, My husband picked up some suppliments that he thought was $9.99 due to the price being there but when we got to the register it was $11.19 instead so we told the cashier about it. The cashier, he was very helpful and found that it was the old price and wanted to just do a return and ring it up to the price noted on there but the Ass. manager wanted him to call the manager to find out what to do, well of course the manager was telling the cashier pretty much the same process that he was suggesting on doing. But we ended up staying there for 20 mins waiting for the Ass. manager to do the process and the whole time she's speaking spanish over the phone with the manager, I don't speak spanish so I found it a bit insulting that this is happening usually i don't care about other languages being spoken but when it's something that involves a purchase i'm making or something I'm involved in..... well it seems pretty rude to me. The cashier was great and very helpful and we did get the price corrected for it being labeled wrong, just the whole speaking a different language infront of the customer that's involved is rude and the process to get things corrected was a bit too much especially when someone already there knew what to do. read more

This store has always been horrible. Sales people that know nothing about the supplement's(or how to even workout) giving advice on things that could potentially harm you. I haven't been here in years because of it. Unfortunately I was in the mall and I needed to pick up a can of protein. Just a single size serving to consume there. I walked in grabbed what I needed and went to the cashier. He tells me its $3.89. okay I pull out my debit card and he Say's $5. I asked him what?? He said"five dollars to use your debit card". Okay I have used my debit card there before but never a service charge of $5 to use my debit card. So instead of $3.89, my total was now $8.89. I asked the gentlemen if he was f***ing INSANE. That is robbery. I know that merchants get charged a few cents for debit and credit card transactions but that is ridiculous told him he could keep it as he began to yell at me to leave and how he wasn't going to sell it to me.
