I have been at this location a few years ago but never wrote a review. Total Wine has a big selection of wine, vodka, tequila, beer etc. We always find something special here. Today we got the beer my husband and I love. It's from Spain. Estrella is the name ... you won't find it in regular markets. Friendly employees ready to help. There also sell greeting cards, disposable cups, and more. Some days they have wine tasting. The wine selection is great, imported from all over the world. read more

I've always enjoyed shopping at Total Wine, especially at the Pasadena location, so I was excited to find another store close to my new home in Northridge. Unfortunately, the customer service at this location has been disappointing. During my visit this afternoon, I needed help finding a few items. Staff simply pointed me toward an aisle, but the products weren't there. There wasn't much effort to assist further or help locate them, which made the shopping experience frustrating. The selection is still excellent, and I'll continue shopping here because of the convenience. However, I'll likely stick to online ordering with curbside pickup since it's a much smoother experience than shopping in-store. read more

I shop at this Total Wine & More a lot. Too much, perhaps because now it seems like they take me for granted. Well, one employee does, Eddy. This is the second time in a row where Eddy decided to engage in conversation with other customers while taking my money. This time, a couple of loud-mouth alcoholics. Eddy's total attention was on them and not any on me. I'm not an egomaniac who needs attention from kids like Eddy but a certain amount of respect is what I demand. And I haven't been getting it from him. Grumpy and boring old men are people too. Eddy needs to be reminded that the customer in front of him needs to be his focus no matter how much attention-getting behavior comes from other people. Customers have a choice and it was my choice to give my business to his store... but that choice isn't a given. read more

This is one of my favorite Total Wine locations . It's convenient and I always come here if I need to purchase drinks for any type of event. They always have what you want and not out of stock of alcohol you need. Of course they have really good prices! The customer service is really good here and really fast. If the lines are really long they open up other lines to speed up the process. I will continue to come tho this location ! -Marshay D. read more

It was my first time visiting Total Wine in Northridge, and only my second time ever visiting any location. It's very cool to walk through all the aisles and seeing so many things that I've never seen before! It's pretty easy to find anything you are looking for, everything is categorized and straightforward in every aisle! During my visit we got to stop by the Beatbox Beverages station and taste test some of the cool flavors! I really liked those Beatbox Beverages and can imagine mixing them with either soda or flavored sparkling waters! read more

Great experience coming here. They had the samples out and Brendan provided great customer service. He sold me on a few drinks I wasn't expecting to get. It was a positive experience and I look forward to the next wine tasting event. read more

My wife and I had a great experience at this Total Wine and More yesterday. We had to get some wines for our baby shower this Saturday so my wife wanted to come here. We came during lunch and they were not busy at all. I found parking easily in the front of the store. The store is nicely organized and if you want to find the drink you want quicker then just go on their website. I wanted to see their Teremana bottles so I just went on their website and it told me what aisle it was in. My wife found the wines bottle she wanted and I went to pay. There was only 1 cashier working and there no self checkout here. read more

Selection is very large and the pricing and displays seem reasonable. Walking in, it feels like you're in a huge warehouse of all types of alcohol!! The tobacco section is enclosed in a separate area which is nice. I noticed that a specific drink flavor that my friends and I wanted was unfortunately not in the display, so oh well. As expected with the name, there are so many wines in the store! Got to trying out a new wine. The cashiers are also on top of checking IDs which is good. Fun fact Total Wine has classes you can book online where you can sample wines that you can purchase for $20!!! Thursdays-Saturdays times vary! Definitely a good stop to buy needed drinks before a night of drinking! read more

This is an amazing store. The staff is exceptional, and no their way around perfectly. They helped me find a bottle of wine. I've been looking for for a very long time from Raymond Vineyards. When the label on the first bottle was a little banged up, they got their huge machine and opened a box up above. It was a gift so I found the perfect bottle. What a wonderful place to shop. I cannot recommend it enough. I just wish I remembered the sales associates name so I could give her praise. Many many thanks. read more

My favorite store they always have very nice and clean stores for the most part every time I'm there the staff is very nice and friendly.

One of the guys that worked here made a huge deal about my friend not having an ID even though they paid. And then proceeded to tell me to move aside and let the next customer pay and didn't id them and they were with a young a girl and the only question they asked them what was their relationship? and they said that was his daughter for all we know it could've been a minor. I stopped in as a last minute shopping and received great customer service as I walked in. I was helped almost immediately and was directed exactly to what I was looking for. It was easy to find, and ended up finding other items next to it. The huge self parking lot gets busy around the holidays since it's shared with Chipotle, Best Buy, and Jersey Mikes. Overall for the store, I will continue to shop here since they shopping experience a breeze. No hassle, straight to the point, and easy to find help when needed. read more

Subject: An Interesting Experience During My Visit I've visited your store several times, and each visit has been met with pleasant and helpful staff. However, during my stop today around 9:40 a.m., I experienced something that gave me pause. While waiting to check out, I noticed the customer ahead of me paid with a credit card and was not asked for identification. When it was my turn, I was immediately asked to present ID for my card purchase. It's unlikely this was due to age--at 60, I'm well past the point of looking too young for a credit card. So, I have to wonder: what made my transaction different? Could it have been that I'm a Black woman, and the woman before me was not? I found the contrast hard to ignore. "Interesting," to say the least. Best regards, Ruth read more

I come here all the time in a group of people! And never have they ever told me everyone i was with had to show their ID in order for me to make a purchase. I am a good customer I purchase scotch 99% of the time. I like the people very much pricing is good. Why the bad rating. They sent a $15 gift for my birthday for wine. I don't drink wine makes me sick...sulfates. I went in today told them and I offered to spend 75.00 on a nice bottle of scotch for my birthday if they give me that 15.00 gift, they said they could not do that. Offered no reason and no apology, very smug. I thought they are still making money and you do something good for a customer he didn't even look up my account. I will still shop there but now I'm looking elsewhere. I went to Costco bought a bottle of Glenronach. read more

Someone needs to train the staff as how to speak to the customers. I am a "Reserve" status customer and have purchased many items from this place for many years. I usually order and pay online and pickup my merchandise by showing my driver's license with no problem. Today, I went to the store to pickup my wines and showed my driver's license to the person that was trying to assist me. Immediately he mentioned " NEXT TIME SHOW US THE ORDER NUMBER" I was appalled with the comment and the tone! It was like I violated a law and an enforcement officer is trying to give me a break or do me a favor!!! Then I proceeded in finding the email confirmation number among hundreds of emails I receive daily to show him. After I showed him the email and he saw the order number, he asked me for the driver's license that I showed him earlier!! To top this horrible experience, one of the wines was bad. The cork was sunk and the bottle accumulated a lot of pulp. I call the store, they ask me to bring the bottle back to the store for an exchange which I am not sure if it is legal to carry an open bottle in the car. read more

I felt like this was rare *humanity is good* level of customer service. My wife had a huge milestone (becoming a Doctor) and I was frantically trying to make her a cocktail with lavender in it. That's her favorite. At one point I had 2-3 people trying to genuinely help me make something lavender happen. They were using their walkie talkies and taking so much time to find the perfect thing. I didn't have the time to look all around the store for my random objective .... and I was blown away by the level of help and concern from the employees. If you're trying to make a specialty cocktail the price is right and a grocery store can't guide you this much. The Luster lavender limoncello and simply lemonade was perfect. read more

Caitlyn went above and beyond to help me organize a private Italian reds tasting that was partly a Christmas gift to friends. At Northridge location picking up online order. Previously, I had been to 2 Ralphs, 1 VONS and 1 Smart & Final for Bailey's Irish Cream for St. Patrick's Day. No luck finding any. I was on the other side of the SFV when I thought to try "total wine and more". It was rush-hour and I really didn't want to drive across the valley. So after looking online I decided to download the Total Wine More app. I was able to order what I needed and have a pick up window of today at 9 AM. There are several time slots to choose from. I was very happily surprised that the prices were very reasonable. In my case a lot less than market retail prices I received an email that instructed me to check in as soon as I arrived at this location. I pulled up into one of the designated parking spots and checked in from the email I received. I think my total wait time was like 4 min. The employee came out, checked my ID and was very friendly and professional. The process was so fast. I don't think I will ever shop for wine or liquor in a store again. The app was intuitive and pick-up was a breeze! Tip: have your government issued ID ready when using curbside pick-up. read more

Love going to Total Wine & More for the incredible variety, but what really keeps me coming back is the level of professional knowledge and service. During our recent visit, our sales associate, Jared, helped my daughter and me select both wine (red and white) and spirits for her wedding; and he truly made the experience exceptional. Jared was not only highly knowledgeable, but also genuinely friendly and easy to work with. He took the time to understand our preferences, offered thoughtful recommendations, and explained the pros and cons of various wines (which we sampled) and spirits in a way that was clear and helpful without ever feeling overwhelming. His ability to break things down and guide us through the options gave us real confidence in our choices. What stood out most was how patient and attentive he was. He never rushed us and made sure we felt comfortable every step of the way. His expertise, combined with his approachable personality, and mindfulness of our budget turned what could have been a stressful process into a really enjoyable one. Highly recommend asking for Jared if you're looking for guidance; he's a great resource and truly elevates the whole shopping experience. Thanks Jared! read more

If you want to get some good deals on your alcohol I would definitely suggest this place. Every time I have been here, the prices are way under every competitor. They also have a massive selection, my pictures don't do it justice. They have hundreds of imports on all types of liquor, beer and wine. The only thing is, there is a lot of dust in some areas on the bottles, but that's with every liquor store on the alcohol that doesn't sell much. The workers here are very nice. read more

This location is near my house and it's very convenient but not just because it's nearby, doesn't mean it wins those five stars BUT AT THIS LOCATION, they definitely earn it!! Especially going through checkout with an employee name, Antonia. She's amazing across-the-board! Always with a great smile, amazing sense of humor and always checking my ID ( I'm 36 haha ) she's doing her job . If other colleagues don't get a chance to greet their customers while entering the building , she definitely makes sure you have a great experience while exiting. Overall, total wine feels like The Disneyland of booze. Employees are always helpful and knowledgeable (unless you go in on a Saturday, you may be on your own). We actually ordered the alcohol for our wedding here and they forgot a part of the order (woops). But we did enjoy the tasting experience we had when it came to making our selections and prices were better than BevMo. Overall, go in if you are looking for something a little special. Prices range from low end to top shelf so there is something for everyone. I go to total wine when I can't find what I want anywhere else. Customer service is about 50/50, on some days it's great, on other days the cashier won't acknowledge you. Definitely ask for help and sometimes the employee is a whiskey/tequila/whatever expert for real!! read more

Total Wine & More - Main entrance - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Northridge, California

Definitely digging the Northridge Total Wine... it's been quite some time... The layout is always bright and welcoming as are most of the employees. I was greeted by a manager at the front of the store upon entering and just got lost in wine for a while. There's a few distilleries and more so wineries I'm currently obsessed with they don't carry such as The Fableist, Obvious Wines (other than Dark & Bold) and Honora Vera Monastrell Organic (however other locations outside of the SFV do...)... Those minor things aside... They have enough to keep you busy for quite some time. The wine and spirits are super well organize by region or varietal/style... I don't know if they have an organic wine section, but I would have love to have spotted it since a lot of them, not all of them tend to be vegan friendly as well... Though it's a 60/40 chance with any wine or winery. The spirits section is epic... Still on the hunt for a bottle of knob creek maple... Although I'm sure they have it as I've gotten it here in the past, but couldn't located it. There wasn't really anybody around to ask and I had spaced as I ventured throughout the store. The website is probably one of the best tools for checking inventory and/or locating an item... I just always seem to have spotty signal at Total Wine locations in general. Total Northridge has a killer beer selection also... Although finding a complete case or even six pack of one thing might be challenging unless it's popular, cold, imported or very domestic. They have this cool build your own 6 pack mix it up isle of so many craft beers that is always stocked up. People do pool from 6pks on the floor to try a bottle rather than a full pack and this can be bittersweet depending on what you need or want to try. Overall a great store to shop at... Though if you need help on the floor you might have to flag the first Total Team Member you spy as they keep busy. The checkout stands were low by the time I was ready, but it was busy busy when I walked in and there were still a lot of patrons on the floor when I left. Ali was super kind when I checked out. She was probably one of the only two associates who engaged me and she recommended some good prosecco by La Vostra... I've actually had before and might consider revisiting on my next T.W. Northridge journey. The parking isn't too bad at all considering all the shops and stores in this plaza. Definitely some of the best deals in town on wine, spirits and more. read more

I had such a great experience at this Total Wine & More location. The first staff earner helped me out so well, listening to my needs while also recommending ton of options for my Christmas gift wine bottles. In fact , the staff were so friendly that once the first staff member had helped me out, another popped out of nowhere to ensure I'd been helped and even suggested a very similar batch of wines as their top favourite. No sooner did Governor Gavin Newsom announce that bars were going to be closed (again) in Los Angeles County due to COVID19 than my quarantine brain told me I needed to immediately panic-buy some wine. I popped online to search for a specific wine I'd tasted at a recent virtual wine tasting and finally found it at Total Wine and More. I'd never heard of Total Wine before, to be honest. I have a local wine shop that I frequent but unfortunately they didn't have the wine I was looking for. Total Wine did (hence the name, I guess!). Total Wine has made pandemic adjustments in great style. Their website has got it going on: it's easy to search, easy to open an account, and very easy to order. Click! Click! Click! Order $30 worth and you will have enough for a free curbside pickup. Their website automatically updates to let you know if the store closest to you has the wine you want in stock. If they're out, it lets you know which store has the wine available. Amazingly convenient. And I love their curbside pickup; park in a designated numbered spot right in front and text them the parking space number. Out come the bottles and off you go! From the looks of it, lots and lots of people were restocking their home bars (beer and spirits are offered as well as wine.) Prices are reasonable and the selection seems pretty darn good. I will (totally) be back. read more

They offer a wide selection of items that I need, provide friendly service consistently, keeps the store clean, and have plenty of parking out in front. I placed an online order early Friday morning for curbside pickup. I received an order confirmation email shortly after and an order ready for pickup email 7 hours later. Upon arrival, I parked in front at one of the curbside pickup designated spots, followed the direction on the sign, and texted my spot #, 1st initial of my 1st name + last name. They replied back stating they were unable to locate the order under my name. After providing the order number, they replied back that they were retrieving the merchandise, will be bringing it out to the vehicle shortly and to have my ID ready. After verifying my info, they assisted and placed the items in my trunk. Easy peasy! I appreciate the simplicity and efficiency of the curbside pickup service and will definitely use it again! read more

I revisited this location as my boyfriend and I decided which canned cocktails we wanted for our HOTD finale viewing party, which also gave me an opportunity to explore the store in more depth and try out the "Try Before You Buy," option. A couple of notes/observations: Hacks to finding a good wine: -Make sure to check out their section of wine dedicated to wines that rate 90 and above on the James Suckling rating scale. If you don't know an awful lot about wine, the James Suckling rating scale is the best cheat sheet - and not all the wines will break your bank! Some are even 11, 12, 14, or 15 bucks each. -Also peruse for the wines marked as "Try Before You Buy." This option is only permitted for specifically-marked wines, and it helped me confirm a Prosecco selection I wanted to purchase, and Ryan (shoutout!), who helped me, provided his wine knowledge, and other suggestions based on my preferences. It was like a micro wine-tasting experience! I learned about how unoaked, and uncorked wine is more eco-friendly, and unoaked Chardonnay has a flavor-profile more akin to Savingnon Blanc (my current favorite). -They also mark their employee's favorites, which I find makes for a more personable experience. Room for improvement: While I realize it's law to ensure minors aren't purchasing alcohol, or adults aren't purchasing on behalf of minors, instead of a small sign at the entrance, maybe they should be enforcing an ID to enter the premises? I did overhear a staff member reminding a group as they entered all party members would need an ID in order to purchase, but it was somewhat embarrassing during our first visit (when my boyfriend was purchasing) that I had to run back to my car to grab my ID. Total Wine and More, is a big store, and it would definitely be upsetting to spend your time looking for what you want only to be turned away because someone in your group doesn't have their ID. This issue seems to be echoed in many other reviews here, with some highlighting possibly inconsistent enforcement (leading some folks to feel discriminated against - let's not forget that biases can be unconscious!) - so this is my constructive feedback! Overall, I am really liking this store, and location, and know that I'll find myself visiting again, and again! read more
