We could not be happier with our new deck. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly what we…read moreenvisioned, but what impressed us just as much as the finished product was the experience of working with Kyle and Anthony.
They were at our home for about a month, so we really got to know them, and they are genuinely kind, hardworking, good people. Kyle takes an incredible amount of pride in his work. He doesn't cut corners, and you can tell that doing the job right truly matters to him. He communicated with us throughout the entire project, kept us informed, and was always willing to talk through questions or decisions along the way. It is increasingly rare to find someone who cares this much about the quality of their work and about treating their customers fairly.
One of the best examples of Kyle's pride in his work was the awning over the deck. Our original plan called for a pre-made pergola, and after Kyle and Anthony had already assembled most of it, it became clear that the scale just wasn't right for our home. Rather than simply finishing it because that was the original plan, they took it back apart, returned it to the store for us at no additional cost, and Kyle built us a custom awning instead. The result is so much better and looks like it actually belongs with our home. That willingness to redo something rather than settle for something that wasn't quite right says a lot about the way Kyle approaches his work.
I also have to mention the conditions these guys worked in. Our deck is south-facing, and they were here through some incredibly hot August weather, working in direct sun for much of the day. There were times I would step outside to talk to them and could barely stand being out there for a few minutes, yet Kyle and Anthony were out there working in it day after day. They just kept going and never complained. Their work ethic was incredible.
There were a few areas of rot discovered in the existing deck structure that couldn't have been known about beforehand. Kyle showed us what needed to be replaced, took care of it properly, and the additional cost was extremely reasonable. At no point did we ever feel like we were being nickel-and-dimed or taken advantage of.
Kyle also went far beyond the scope of our deck project. I asked if he would be willing to install a new storm door if I purchased one. Not only did he agree, he picked it up from Home Depot for us after I ordered it. The installation turned into a much bigger, more time-consuming job than expected, and he still charged us an incredibly reasonable amount for his time. That experience really summed up the kind of person and contractor he is.
Kyle and Anthony stayed committed to our project until it was finished, worked incredibly hard, and treated our home and property with respect. When they were done, everything was cleaned up so thoroughly that, other than our gorgeous new deck, you would never know they'd been here working for a month.
The deck itself is stunning. The craftsmanship is beautiful, everything was done with care, and they created exactly what we asked for.
Finding contractors who are skilled is one thing. Finding people who are skilled, honest, fair, hardworking, communicative, and genuinely care about the work they put their name on is something else entirely. Kyle and Anthony are those people, and we would recommend them without hesitation.
