I can't speak to a long-term relationship with them, but I called and spoke with a paralegal, who put me in touch with a lawyer at the firm (I can't find his name, because I think he scrubbed the emails). After a phone call with him, I was asked to provide more information, which I promptly did. And then....nothing. No response from him, no response from the paralegal, despite my follow-up emails. I understand if you think my case has no merit, but please be considerate and at least let me know (with a short email, god forbid you spend more than 2 minutes responding) that you will not take the case. I chose this firm on a reccomendation from my Dr. in 2008 to represent me for an injury I sustained in a car accident, while on vacation, out of state. This law firm assured me they could handle an out of state case, just fine, no problem... It's been a year and a half. I haven't heard anything from them... at all. I know from my Dr. that they requested my medical records recently and that usually means something is happening regarding my case... so I called them, to get an update. No one would talk to me, they were busy. That's fine I'll call back later. It's been 2 weeks, I finally, after calling every day for TWO WEEKS, got a hold of my attorney's assistant... it seems my attorney is a very busy woman and can't be bothered to talk to me. I grind my teeth and write them a letter instead. It's going on a month now, and it's been a week since I sent the letter... STILL NOTHING. I would really just like to know where my case is at seeing as it's been a year and a half and I am worried about the statute of limitations running out in the state where I was injured. I finally had to go online to find out that I have about a year and a half more for the statute to run out but I still have no idea at all what my lawyers are doing about my case. I wouldn't reccomend these people at all. You are much better off finding someone else if you want to stay informed and not be ignored. read more

My experience with GLP over the past 2 years I have say has been unfortunately disappointing now that my case has come to an end and the case has been settled. Was originally represented my one of the main partners before being handed off to two different lawyers at the firm. For the first year and half before actual litigation started I can count on one hand the amount of times I spoke with the lawyer. Besides communication being more then poor my main issue with GLP was the outcome of the settlement and amount of money I received compared to GLP. At the time of signing papers and deciding to be represented by GLP I was explained that GLP takes 30% up to 40% in attorney fees of gross amount of damages awarded if the case goes to trial or more in depth then typical auto collision case. I thought that was more then fair and had no issue with that. Not that I cared that much at the time but I was never notified that in fact my case was more in depth and would be at the rate of 40% instead on the initial 30% Before arbitration, and possible settlement amounts were being negotiated, I was then notified that there would be additional cost for work done by my lawyer which came as surprise as I just assumed 40% covered all cost and fees for my case. In the end, GLP basically made 4 times more the amount of money I ended up with in-pocket after all medical bills were paid. Honestly If I had known Id wait 2 years to be "awarded" a couple thousand dollars in damages for pain and suffering, and GLP would receive 4 times that amount for their "services" provided I would have probably considered a different lawyer. read more

This is the most incompetent law firm I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. My daughter and I just concluded a three-and-a-half year personal injury case with them, resulting from a straightforward auto accident. My daughter was rear-ended while stopped, and her neck and back were severely injured - no broken bones, but major structural dislocation and soft-tissue injuries. She had been an active, ambitious young adult before the accident, and since, she has struggled just to get through each day without so much pain that she can't move. Without extensive (and expensive) treatment, she will be like this for the rest of her life. This seems like an easy case to me. But our attorneys tell us that her case is full of holes, that she has little chance of getting a good settlement in court, which would, in any case, take days of difficult grilling, and that she should settle for the pittance the other insurance company is offering. They tell her she should not have taken a trip to Central America several months after the accident. She should not have had any gaps in treatment (not possible when one has to earn the money for the treatment before one can get it). Also, since the attorneys made an offer a couple of years ago, the other insurance company would definitely not go any higher than that offer. Only a couple of glitches. Our attorneys never told her to stay in town and make sure to have no gaps in treatment. They made that offer without our knowledge or consent, or understanding that it would set the limit of the settlement, and worst of all, once they realized she was more injured than that offer would cover, they told her to get more tests to prove her condition, including a $7,000 MRI. Now, two years and a lot more tests and treatments later, they are telling us she can't get more than she could have when they originally made that spontaneous offer. Why make her get more tests, spend more money, time, and agony, if it wasn't going to make a difference? Also, we hire personal injury lawyers because we are not experts in this stuff. This is the first PI case for my family. How would we know a trip or a break from treatment would be the death knell of a case? That's why you hire lawyers - to advise you as to the best course of action. Well, don't hire these. They will waste your time and money and leave you with all your problems and no solutions. read more

My case started out positive and communication was good. I really liked my attorney at first, but along the way things went very bad. I was given a number as an example of what might come back as a counter, and told it wasn't an absolute, but it was a safe general number as it was the standard for a case like mine. I was told that I had a strong case and it wouldn't be problem going to trial if a satisfactory offer wasn't presented. After some time my case dwindled down to less and less money. The final settlement was less than half of what I was told would be the range we could expect to get, and when I requested to go to trial, after several hemming-and-hawing conversations, was told that wasn't going to be an option and that it basically wasn't going to work. I would call and ask what were my options at different times and how they would affect the case and the answer was always "We'll do what ever you want us to do." That might be fine if I had even an ounce of experience in this, but there was no interest in helping me understand what I should be doing to develop a strong case. To be fair, at this point I believe this issue was with a paralegal, and my attorney was still trying to explain fairly well whenever we did talk. As the case was winding up I was sent a check that was supposed to be a partial, and then another one just slightly larger was to come, and I was told that this would be on top of the actual settlement amount. I received the first check and then that was essentially it. I got one more very small check that we were apparently lucky to get. Obviously my case got really screwed up, going from being worth at least the standard settlement amount for my kind of case to being worth less than half that amount and being told I was lucky I was getting that much. I am not the attorney, I am the client; I am simply supposed to go to treatment and sign papers. So how this case got so screwed up is beyond me and obviously the result of some shoddy work at the office. I took my case around to a couple other law offices to see if it could be fixed, and if not to at least get a feel for if I was right to be unhappy with my settlement. Each place I went to said that there was nothing that could be done to fix the case, but in a polite and professional way indicated that it was "Unfortunate that the stated amount was all I was getting out of this case." Basically, it's too bad I was getting screwed. Long story short, there was a lot of money left somewhere other than with my recovery. read more

I was in an accident and thought I could handle the case on my own. After much frustration between my insurance company and the at fault company, I begin to grow concerned that my medical bills would not be paid.
