EDIT: Brought my rating up from two stars because Max personally reached out and apologized for the mixup explaining that he had spent 40 minutes prior to the consultation on document review but clarifying that this should have been communicated by Carey to us as carrying an extra charge. It was a simple mistake on Carey's part and mistakes happen. They offered us a refund and we're satisfied with the resolution. Glad to know that ILG as a firm has a culture of owning up to missteps. First off, I want to say that the experience at ILG was extremely convenient and Carey was very professional during our notarization session. My fiancé and I went to get our prenup notarized here and Max served as my fiancé's attorney when it came to reviewing the document and doing a consultation (for a $200 flat fee). From what I can tell, Max provided good legal counsel and helped my partner know exactly what he was signing and what his rights were pre and post-marriage. We were told that notarization would be another $10/signature, so we figured with 3-4 sets of signatures, another $60-80. No big deal. However, when we both went to do the notarization and pay the notarization fee, we were blindsided when we were told that in totality, their services were going to cost $500 and that this would be a flat fee much "lower than the hourly rate they typically charge." What? We were under the impression that the consultation and document review was $200 and that the notarization would be another $60-80 for a total of $260-280 total. Now, Max did add a fairly standard, 2-page addendum into our prenup stating that we both knew which spousal rights under Washington State Law we were waiving, but my fiancé told me that he had not been informed AT ALL that this would result in an extra fee, let alone an extra fee of $220-240. I don't know whether the addendum was a copied and pasted boiler plate or if it was drafted from scratch and actually did result in at least one more billable hour of Max's time, but in my opinion, it should've been made transparently clear to my fiancé what that additional document/service would cost and this was not communicated to him at all at the time. We both felt blindsided by the amount we thought we were being charged for ILG's services basically doubling. In summary, decent legal advice and services, but ILG desperately needs to work on pricing transparency and communicating additional charges to clients. read more

The Buck stops at "Scheduling" We had an appointment on Tuesday at 9am.I get a voicemail on Tuesday at 8am to say it's canceled because "Afton Hayes" is sick. It's fine although calling last minute when I've already cleared my morning work schedule is extremely rude. I reschedule to Friday, but then am delivered some bad health news which causes me to reschedule the Friday appointment (mind you that I do this a few days prior and not on the day of like they did). Then I'm hit with more news which causes me to take up more appointments with my doctor, and so I call again to reschedule the appointment (1.5 weeks prior and again not on the same day one hour before the appointment like they did). Then their secretary proceeds to try to school me about all the "reschedules" which I firmly remind her, that this wouldn't happen if they hadn't canceled our initial appointment 1 hour before. So she should at least show minimum empathy like I showed when they first canceled. If their secretary can't even empathize on health issues like I did, then it's pretty clear their treatment when you actually need their "lawyer expertise". The buck stops at "Scheduling" and this treatment is strong signal of business and apathy first. On the morning of your initial appointment, I personally emailed you at 5:30 am the morning of your appointment informing you that the attorney who would consult with you was ill and would not be in the office.  I received the message from the attorney immediately before I emailed you.   When I arrived at my office at 7 am I called you and explained the situation which you responded that you understood and it was no problem and we rescheduled you around your time later in the week.   I was not part of the next calls, but was informed that you had called and rescheduled multiple times.  Our office does our best to work around client schedule, however, it is very difficult to change schedules multiple times.   We would like to offer you free consultation in hopes to remedy this. Please reach out to us directly, we will follow up as well. Thank you for your understanding and patience" My response: ------------------ - I'm sorry I didn't wake up 5:30am to read your emails in my junk mail or check my phone first thing when I wake up because I would expect a business to cancel on me first thing in the morning. (Just their expectation that my schedule should accommodate theirs again shows their lack of empathy and basic human decency). - Since I'll be sharing personal matters with my lawyers, i'd expect empathy and human respect before I entertain opening up. Going through a divorce is never easy. As easy as you think it might be if both parties are in agreement, it's still not easy. I ended up going through 2 different law firms that really screwed up my case. Either by never responding to me in a timely manner, or not responding to my ex-wife in a timely manner, things got out of hand and escalated and ultimately ended up dragging out the divorce by a few months with increased amount of payments. Eventually I got fed up with the 2 law firms and found Integrity Law Group. WIthin a single consultation they got me confident in where to take the divorce and throughout the conversations with the ex-wife's lawyer, ILG was able to respond to my questions immediately via email and didn't charge me for every e-mail they read (which other firms did). They reviewed all the legal documents in a timely manner and was able to file everything so quickly. I was amazed at how fast and smooth everything went once I hired them. The cost was also 3x less than what the other lawyers were charging. Hourly billing will always be the same, but the # of hours billed... you will see how crazy other law firms can get. (Per email read, per phone picked up, per voice mail heard, per mile in the car, etc.) I can't say enough good things about how happy I am with their service and would definitely use them again (hopefully not for divorce). read more

My wife and I were in a situation where we could no longer afford our house payments due to loss of income. There has been a steady decline in our industry with no end in sight. We bought our house in 2006 with 100% financing which was a big mistake. We were looking at a sizable balloon payment on our second loan that we would not be able to pay since our savings had dwindled. Our first was refinanced under HARP but still carried a relatively high interest rate. We tried to handle it ourselves by contacting the bank. Everything seemed to go well; we went through a painless process of required paperwork and wrote a letter of hardship. The person handling our case assured us "everything looked good" and sounded hopeful. We received a big fat DENIAL letter via Fed Ex. I couldn't believe it. The bank gave us the run around and the guy taking care of us never returned any of my calls (for help). Fast forward to Feb 2012. I contacted Justin at Integrity Law to see what our options were. After looking over our financial situation, what our house was worth, and what our mortgages were he sounded pretty confident he could keep us in our house. He made sure we were realistic in what we wanted and also what may occur as a result of pursuing loan mod, short sale, etc. Ultimately the second loan was wiped away and the first loan was modified. Although I'm sure every modification will net different results it is WORTH it. It does not hurt to consult them. I am writing this on the first anniversary of completing the loan mod. Listen, I cannot convey in words how stressful it was for my family at that time in our lives. Don't be foolish and try to do it yourself. I hired Max to respond to a parenting plan change, to submit my requests on the change, and to ask the courts to help my children. On the first hearing, he had not submitted a single response, so he was fined and it was rescheduled. On the second hearing he still did not submit things on time and was almost fined a second time, but instead made to apologize in court. Notice, he still has not done what I originally hired him for. So we are now to court date 3 which should technically only be 2, and might not have even been needed at all if he would have done his job one court date one and two. He did not notify me that there were meeting I was to attend, which only he was notified about. So I missed them, and the ones it effects are my children. Luckily enough someone contacted me directly about the meetings and I was able to reschedule so that I can help my children. In the end, Max refunded some of my fee's, and my children were helped by the courts. He called the Family Services Offices and stood in responsibility for me missing my appointments. Integrity is not never messing up, it is righting the wrongs. Max cleaned up his mess with me, and I know that he meant no harm. read more
