Impeccable customer service and great blowouts. Jenn the owner is fantastic. Always ready with champagne in hand. She offered to walk down and put our names in at Bar Siena while we were getting our blowouts. Devin did my blowout and she did a great job. I've been there 3 times now, and each time I've walked away happy. The space is beautiful, clean and relaxing and they do a great job on hair (haven't used for other services). Even one time when a friend came with me while I was getting a blowout and she wasn't, they still offered her a glass of champange. Highly suggest to everyone! read more

You know how on T.V. you see stylists asking clients about their hair, and how they want it to look? Or talking about what colors (warm vs. cool) are better for their skin tones? I have never had anyone ask me that, and I have been getting my hair colored for over 12 years! This is something that really impressed me about Amie, she knows hair, and she knows how to make you look great! I went in for highlights and a cut, and walked out with beautiful hair. Amie, made me feel comfortable and was really friendly and out going. I didn't feel awkward or that conversation was forced. The salon is gorgeous and really well taken care of. Amie did not try to sell the products, which I always appreciate. I actually ended up buying the hair spray she used because I loved it, but it was nice to make that choice on my own! The prices are super reasonable in my opinion, and absolutely worth it! I made a follow-up appointment and am excited to have found such a great hair salon in Chicago! I can not talk highly enough about how awesome Amie is and how great the experience was! read more

This place is great. My hair was perfect, the venue is chilled out & lovely & the girls are all really lovely. I've had 3 different stylists & they were all equally good. This place is local to me, which is super handy but it'd be worth making an effort for. 5stars! read more

I recently made a trip to Chicago to see some friends. My trip was last minute and did not have time to tan before I left Florida (go figure, ever Florida resident should be tan no matter what). When I arrived in Chicago my friend saw how sickly white I was and recommended Golden Girl. Jenn came to my hotel room. She set up her "tan tent" and went to work. My tan was even, I had NO streaking and NO creasing. Jenn made me feel very comfortable and was very sweet. The next time I travel to Chicago, I will have her spray me. Jenn, thanks for giving me a healthy glow. read more

Not many people know that Golden Girl is BOTH an airbrush spray tan salon AND a hair salon. Who wouldn't mind a quick blow dry or hair cut after spray tanning for an event? My hairstylist, Sarah English recently started cutting hair at Golden Girl and is ONE of the best stylists in the city. Of course I'm biased as she's been cutting my hair for many years now. I highly recommend her services right after a spray tan session for a night on the town! Try her out and TELL me me I'm not lying how great she is. read more

Jenn and her girls are FABULOUS!! The salon is gorgeous and goes with the atmosphere like you're hanging out with the gals!! Tans and blowouts-what can be better than that! read more

If you are looking for the BEST airbrush tan in Chicago (or anywhere for that matter)- this is the place to go. I've been going to Golden Girl for about a year now (I've gotten 5-6 airbbrush tans) & I am always thrilled with how it looks. Jenn is extremely talented and passionate about what she does. She's also super accomodating & quick to respond to emails, which makes scheduling a tan a breeze. As other reviewers have said, Jenn takes great care to make sure your tan looks fantastic- from making sure your make up & deodorant is off to wiping your wrists & feet to avoid lines- she does it all. And it looks perfect every time. Overall, I recommend her to anyone & everyone- she's a doll! Golden Girl Chicago is IT. PS- I just started using their Golden Girl lotion. It smells fantastic & kept my tan looking fresh for over a week! Definitely recommend it. read more

I love this place and I love Jen!!! I've followed her around for awhile before she opened up this feminine heaven. The decor is so cute and you just feel at home there. I recently went for my spray tan before my beach vaca. It was gorgeous as always and I felt amazing in my bathing suit! Love love!! read more

Glowout - Best real fake tan ever! Thanks Jen! - Blow Dry/Out Services Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I love Glowout! I actually thought I had already given a stellar review, as I've been here for a few different services, but after my most recent time I double checked and saw I had not. So, here goes! Glowout is a hidden gem. Their prices are reasonable, and their services are phenomenal. I most recently came in to get my eyelashes curled. They did a great job! Fast, easy and friendly service. Also, a very cute and hygienic place. Highly, highly recommend!! read more

We used their nail and hair services for our December 2015 wedding. I would recommend this vendor. They were responsive, friendly, and provided an OK product for the price. The manicures were fine, but the no-chip did not last long. I was unhappy after my curls fell after the first hair trial. They let me do a second trial for free but that still didn't stay for more than a few hours. On the wedding day, the stylist, Brittany, used better product and I was happy with how well it held up. One of my bridesmaids was very happy and said she received the best updo she ever got for a wedding. read more

I came here based on the great reviews to get a spray tan before my wedding and had the Best experience! It turned out I knew the girl who sprayed me, Meggy, through my then-fiancé which could've made the process even More awkward than it already can be to bare it all, but it wasn't one bit! She was so sweet (complimenting my "wedding arms" -- the Best compliment a bride to be can ask for!) and professional. I also just trusted she knew what she was doing, and she did! The spray tan itself turned out great. I didn't have any orange or blotchy spots -- sometimes my feet and ankles hold too much color but didn't here!! The solution doesn't smell bad like many others, didn't stain (and I of course was decked out in white every chance I got for my wedding week ;)) and it's minor, but at the end they dusted some kind of fragrance powder on to help with that. I thought that was so great! It's the little things, right?! read more

I can not say enough good things about Jenn - she went out of her way to tan me a couple days before my wedding even though she had a flight to catch. She does a FANTASTIC job and is so professional and easy to talk to. As long as I live in Chicago I will always go to her for spray tans. If you have any doubts about going someplace else, don't. This is the place to go to. Hugs and Kisses, Jenn. read more

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Glowout. My pasty white skin needed to be tanned (and fast) for my weekend trip to Vegas and Glowout definitely delivered. The salon itself is so beautiful. It's decorated so tastefully, feminine and modern. Just a fun atmosphere to be in. All the women there were so friendly and accommodating. I felt like I knew them for years. Megan did an amazing job on my spray tan and I could tell she paid so much attention to detail. And let's face it, being naked getting spray tanned in front of someone you just met is going to be awkward, but Megan made me feel like it was no big deal. That is a gift. Megan even followed up with me the next day to make sure I was happy with my tan. Great service. I can't wait to try more services that Glowout has to offer. I definitely recommend! read more

On Saturday I went to Glowout, to do a braid "trial" before choosing the salon I want for my wedding in June. My whole experience at Glowout was phenomenal! The salon is super cute with a cool feng shui. My sister came with and she was able to sit right by me while I got my hair braided. I had Katie. Katie braided my hair with the extensions I brought in and she did an outstanding job. I showed her a few pictures and explained what I was thinking, and Katie did exactly what I asked for. I definitely want to book Glowout for my wedding day. I felt like Katie did a great job keeping me comfortable the entire appointment and she was really easy to talk to. I highly suggest Glowout as a finishing salon! It's super easy to get to and park at as well on the street! Thank you Katie and Glowout! Can't wait to work with you for my wedding day read more

Could not have asked for a better experience. Took my bestie here for bday manis and blowouts and the attention Jenn, Brittany, and Jacqui gave us was like no other from the second we walked in. They each listened to what we wanted but put their own spins on the styles and we left looking and feeling like movie stars. The ladies were also all very warm and we had a great time chatting and joking around with them, I find that hard to come by with a lot of stylists in Chicago. The salon itself it very chic and clean, we definitely felt at home. I will definitely becoming around more often whenever I want to look fabulous. Keep up the great work, Glowprah! read more

I was in need of a hairstyle for a black tie wedding and wanted something show stopping that I know I wouldn't be able to achieve with my own curling iron. I made an appointment with Brittany based on yelp reviews and was so impressed! I showed her my Pinterest board of the old-hollywood curls that I was looking for and she did not disappoint! Not only was my hair fabulous, she completed the look in only 30 minutes with a pre-style wash and the curls stayed put the whole night. I did do a few touch ups before the wedding but all in all it was a good experience and I would recommend! read more

I'm usually a LA Tan-spray tan in a box gal, but I just found my new spray tan go to. I was a little skeptical going in, fearing I would look too orange since my skin is to pale, however, it turned out perfect! It was the most natural looking spray tan I have ever gotten. Missy did my first spray and was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable the entire time. They do a great job explaining post tan care and even follow up the next day to see how everything turned out. This truly shows how much they care for their customers which is a huge plus for me. The space itself is decorated so cute and they offer complimentary La Croix (SOLD). I will definitely be back for ALL of my spray tans, I can't wait to try more of their services. read more

I've gotten a spray tan here at least four times. Maybe five? I'm very pale and being very pale, I have trust issues when it comes to spray tan. I obviously don't want to look orange. Every tan I've gotten here has turned out great and each girl that's tanned me has done such a good job. I recently got spray tanned for my wedding. They're so friendly and put you at ease which is helpful when you're standing naked in front of them on a platform.. This place might be on the pricier side but it's worth it because I come away totally satisfied. I've done the express tan most times and prefer it because then I can shower same time. They also save my shower time information in my account which is pretty great - I'm glad they keep that level of detail for their customers. We learned that 1 hr 50 min is the magic number for me :) I also love that their new location on Milwaukee has free parking. I drive in from the western suburbs because I trust this place so much and the location is pretty convenient. It's also amazingly decorated. I can't say enough about how great this place is! read more

I would highly recommend their airbrush tanning! I have used them on multiple occasions including my wedding. Every time, my tan turns out so natural and lasts longer than other airbrush tanning salons I've tried. Their customer service is great as well! read more

I've been only for tans but wouldn't hesitate to get other services given the great experiences I've had upon every visit. Was back a 2nd time a few months ago and Brittany was awesome again and gave me a soft wave that looked great for the wedding I was going to. She's fast, super nice, and definitely skilled. Was there this past week for a blowout with Katie who is new. Brittany was unavailable for the time I was looking for. Katie, like Brittany, listened to what I was looking for and delivered exactly that. She was so friendly and did a great job. Now I know I'll walk out with a great result from either Brittany or Katie! The owner(s) are always very friendly as well and overall, it's a very pleasant experience. I will be back! read more

Jenn was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough how awesome she is. First of all, she did a fantastic job on my spray tan, looking to make sure that I didn't have any weird splotches. As we were almost finished with my tan, I started to feel faint and she had me sit down, brought me 3 glasses of water and crackers, and had me sit for a few minutes before finishing. She looked at places where I got a little sweaty and cleaned them off for me and sprayed them to make sure my tan didn't turn out strange from a sweat mark. I cannot recommend Glowout and, more specifically, Jenn enough. What a fantastic business and absolutely wonderful people! My only advice is that parking was pretty tough to find. I would recommend doing a SpotHero or showing up at least 20 minutes early to look for a place to park! I will definitely be back in the future! read more

Wow. I never thought I would be a tan kinda guy but after hearing so much about it, my wife and I had to try it. Jenn was personable, intelligent, gracious, and she made the experience fantastic. Her quick spray tan was, believe it or not, a fun experience. You can tell Jenn is passionate about it. I'm a guy. I don't tan. But after a session at the Golden Girl, I am going ot be regular whenever I get back to Chicago. read more

Such a great experience! This was my first time actually having someone professionally spray me, and since it was initially for a trial for my wedding day, I was a bit concerned. But after meeting Megan I felt incredibly comfortable and at ease that she was going to make me look great - and she did! Meg is soo awesome at what she does! I asked for just a base that would give me some color since we were having a winter wedding and I didn't want to look too dark, and she gave me just the right amount of glow! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because of parking - which is only street parking. But other than that I would 100% recommend Glowout, and especially Megan for a professional spray tan! Great service, awesome employees and affordable prices! read more

Love. That's all I have for Jenn and her staff. Went in last Saturday morning for a blowout as soon as I arrived in Chicago. Becky was my hair maven and she did a fantastic job. I gave her free reign and after telling her that I wear my hair straight - always! - she opted to give me some waves for the weekend. My hair was still looking great when I returned home to Kansas City on Monday! Not only was my hair amazing, but the entire staff was so sweet and took great care of us. Jenn is a real beauty boss and knows how to create a fun and relaxed vibe while still being professional. Glowout is your one stop shop for beauty. Hit them up...you won't be disappointed! read more

Glowout - Becky, my hair maven, and me post-blowout. She had to take the selfie...my hands were full with champs! - Blow Dry/Out Services Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Jenn was super nice and attentive and you do not feel uncomfortable almost naked in front of her lol! I decided against the trial before my wedding (yes I know, very risky) but it all worked out great! I am VERY fair skinned, pink tones and basically never have been tan from the sun in my life. I was concerned I'd be orange or too brown that I looked unnatural but that wasn't the case! I looked great and extremely even! All over no streaks or splotches. I got the express so I could shower in two hours (however I was running errands so it was more like 4 hours ) I bought a little thing of body wash and lotion to help maintain the tan -together was maybe $12 additional dollars. Not bad! Definitely kept my skin from drying and kept the tan about a week/5-6 days. I thought maybe the tan would last longer on my honeymoon but I'd say it really only lasts a week. And once I swam in the ocean and in chlorine the tan faded (of course) but not streaky which is nice to know too! read more

Golden Girl Chicago was just what I was looking for! I've been going to an expensive over-priced salon and I was sick of spending so much money and for hair that I didn't love. I was referred to Amie Miller at Golden Girl Chicago by a colleague of mine who has gorgeous movie star hair and she told me to go see Amie. Such a cute place and they make you feel so welcome, it's like you're going to their home. I am so glad I called Amie because she is an amazing colorist and stylist with lots of experience. I had about 2 inches of grow out and a cut that was so hard to style that I desperately needed a good cut. Amie asked me my hair routine to figure out what would work best for me and my lifestyle. Since I will only spend 5 to 10 minutes a day on my hair she gave me the cutest shag bob that is extremely flattering and so easy to style in the mornings. I also have natural hair color that I call "Dirty Dishwater Blonde Hair" and she gave me a beautiful Champagne, Rosy Blonde Highlights that she actually matched to my eye color. My skin color looks warmer and it really brightened up by eyes and face and I need that in the winter! I will be back there in 7 to 8 weeks for my next cut & color and will try the Spray Tan with Jenn next. Can't wait, thanks Amie! :) read more

I love this place. I've been here twice now, once for a spray tan and once for a blowout (I ended up getting an incredible bun instead). Both times, I had an excellent experience! The atmosphere is really well styled to be comfortable and fun. I've only been here solo but this would be an excellent location for a bachelorette or wedding pre-party for ladies who want their hair styled / nails done together. Jen gave me the spray tan and she did a fantastic job. She makes you feel totally comfortable and provides expert spray tan coverage. The color turns out great. Jen's instructions for how to maintain the tan were also really helpful. I only get the occasional spray tan so I have only been once for this service, but this is where I will go for the next one. Brittany styled my hair for a wedding I was attending. I made an appointment for a blowout but changed my mind at the last minute to a bun/updo since it was a really hot day. She did an amazing job! She made my hair look even better than the photo that I brought in and the style lasted all night. I received so many compliments all night! I will definitely be back for the next event I need to attend. It's such an easy solution to just come here for a blowout, bun or braids when you have no idea how to style your own hair! read more

Jean and her team are real pros creating a natural golden glow and stylish blowouts. I personally appreciate the salon's beautiful atmosphere and the personal touch of the stylists and tanners. I always feel at home at Glowout. Cares of the day melt away once you enter this beauty sanctuary. The spray tan color is warm and golden. Jenn is super careful about the details of the tan. Just another person coming here to leave a 5-star review. I went to Glowout for the first time yesterday for my first-ever spray tan ahead of my best friend's wedding. I was hesitant because #tryingsomethingnew, but the staff couldn't have made me feel more comfortable. It was super quick and easy. They give you very simple yet thorough instructions to follow for prep and care. I totally recommend this salon! I recently moved from Miami to Chicago and was having a hard time finding the right place to take my tresses, this place not only accommodated me when I was 40 minutes late but I left looking and feeling amazing!!! I've never posted a review of anywhere before but I've also never disliked a spray tan before. I've been getting spray tans for ten years and I've never experienced being unable to have an input in the color used on your own body. I had absolutely no say in the color that was used (despite asking several times and even stopping her) and I'm currently a red shade that is so far from what i wanted (I typically prefer a sun-kissed olive shade not whatever the hell this is). I was told to shower exactly 4 hours after my appointment and was given a time card as a reminder. I followed the instructions even though this, again, is not something i've ever had other salons tell me. My legs are now as white as they were before the appointment while the rest of me looks pink and slightly burned, and the eczema patches on my arm have retained a 3rd degree burned look which is really not cute. I was really disappointed in this experience. the ambiance was cute but my experience was the weirdest and worst I've ever had. I asked lots of questions because I was so confused and was met with a bit of attitude and no reassurance. Definitely will not be returning. I didn't think it was possible not to like a spray tan. read more

First off, I love to support small businesses and secondly, I love supporting girl bosses! Jenn (the owner) is amazing at she does and is the absolute sweetest! I went all the way down to Golden Girl from Lincoln Park because of the high praise they got on yelp. They def live up to the praise! I am very pale (Irish skin) and have never trained spray tanning- needless to say I was worried I would look like an oompa-loompa. But Jenn reassured me she intended to choose a shade that was natural-looking and not the "freshly fake-tanned" look. My fiancé noticed the tan, but didn't think it looked unnatural at all. In fact he was amazed when I showed him the tone difference on my minimal tan lines. In addition, I told Jenn I am getting married in Dec out of town, and that was part of the reason I wanted to try out spray tanning ahead of time. Although she usually recommends spay tanning two days prior to weddings (and I will be leaving 5 days ahead of mine) she was so helpful and accommodating in discussing the best options for me. She asked me to take pictures to send her in white 2 days, and then 5 days after so we can see how my tan lasts. And she even said if it isn't lasting at day 5, she would find someone she recommends in the area where I will be for my wedding! Overall, still day one and haven't washed the tan off- but so far so good! Very professional, make you feel comfortable, and extremely accommodating. Will def recommend them to anyone! read more
