I choose to go without anything on during the tan and Alison made me feel comfortable the whole time. Price- extremely reasonable especially for the amazing long lasting tan Ease- you don't need to think, from the instructions they give you to prep yourself before you show up, to telling you where to move and how to stand while they are tanning you, to giving you instructions on what to do after, everything is effortless. I was in and out in about twenty minutes (for the whole process). Make sure to show up with loose clothes to put on after the tan. Also if you need to drive and park, it is $1! In Chicago that is unheard of. Beautiful tan- I am glowing Cleanliness- I have been to places where I think is this place clean, never had to worry about that here. Yelp led me to Glo and I honestly could not be any happier. It was an outstanding experience all around. I had an appointment with Allison who is seriously so sweet and awesome (not to mention made me feel super comfortable considering you're standing there in the buff). She explained the whole process, which was great because I had never had a custom airbrush tan before and we decided how dark of a tan I wanted. The tan came out beautifully!! Truly a natural glow and have been getting tons of compliments since. I will absolutely be back to keep this bronze-ness going! Oh and she also had little goodie bags for Valentines Day-seriously so cute!

The facial included hydration, exfoliation, cryotherapy, and targeted extractions to help remove acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation. It also comes with a lightweight peel option. I didn't try the peel this time, but I'm definitely planning to go back for it. I absolutely loved my experience. The place was very clean, well-maintained! Highly recommend this place! They also have a referral offer where both you and your friend get $15 off your next facial. Since this was my first visit, I also received a 15% discount.

I didn't even feel sticky afterwards and felt no discomfort sleeping the first night. For any big events in the future, I will definitely be going back to her, without a doubt. I'm really impressed with their business model because it's damn hard to find great makeup artists and hair stylists that stick to a pretty solid routine so you know what to expect. I feel like Goldplaited is the like the Lettuce Entertain You of hair and beauty. Like... you can ask for completely different styles or even get different makeup artists (like when you walk into different LEY restaurants) but the level of service and outcome is consistently on point to your level of satisfaction. One time I asked for a stylish pony, another time vintage hair half up/half down, and both times I was obsessed! The makeup artists know how to make you look natural but elevated. Your skin looks like your skin, just better. For make up, I've requested twice (from two different artists) "a natural, me - just better, look," and also a soft glam warm smokey eye - all of which were PERFECT! I did not have to touch up through out the day. All I did was either add more moisturizing spray or UD's All Nighter Spray. Note: If you want airbrush, request it beforehand when you make your reservation. An added plus is that these artists have RANGE! I'm in my 30s but I've seen ladies with mature skin (50+), Gen Z, I mean the skin types ran the gamut and all of the ladies that walked out of there looked beautiful AF. Not to mention the different hair types and requests that they knocked out of the park. The girl that did my hair (twice) was confident and knew exactly what to do even with a brief description or photo. Her confidence gave me confidence knowing she knew her sh*t. And my hair came out perfect every time. The place is very clean and I've consistently seen the artists wash their brushes between each new client. Making appointments online is easy and metered parking is always easy to find. The makeup and beauty industry can be hit or miss but whoever is hiring/training at this place deserves a damn award. And of course, the artists there are just SO talented. If you've got an event, check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

I've often bumped up to an extra service because recommendations are never pushed on you yet deliver when you do splurge (their fusio-dose [spelling?!]) . Just last week, the effortlessly charming Vanessa Marroquin spent ages listening to me wax indecisive about bangs. I retreated from that precipice; what also retreated, thanks to Vanessa, were highlights rendered shrill and eye-catching (in all the wrong ways) by sunlight. My inveterate wish to position laptop on lap to aid my illusion of efficiency was again indulged by thoughtful provision of a cushioned tray; lots of camomille tea helped out too. When I expressed that I was unhappy with the results I was made to feel bad. *They did accommodate and try to tone it down* but then said I would have to leave with wet hair. The problem was it was waaaaaay too light and I felt like they wanted me to leave before it dried so it looked darker. They offered to blow dry the front part but half blown out hair... no thanks...I was clearly upset but was nothing but kind during this. I paid and left without saying anything more. I walked out after a VERY expensive appointment with wet unstyled hair that is too short, the wrong color and hair that I really dislike. Not to mention it felt like straw and very damaged.. I supposed they did what they could after the fact but had they listened to my request it wouldn't have required fixing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
