They had no idea how to do that. They asked if she wanted acrylics or gel. This is a service other places offer and they should know what this is - The polish is already chipping within a matter of hours - The guy who did my wife's nails seemed put out and gave a sigh of annoyance because she wanted her French tips to match her toes instead of just plain white tips.

I told this lady about what happened the day before as we analyzed my nails and told her to be careful around my cuticles/skin bc I was scraped a few times. She agreed to be careful and that she would fix my nails so I felt good about it. Fast forward to the soak off and the first immediate red flag was that she kept trying to find a way to pop off my nails. (Mind you I got them done the DAY BEFORE so they weren't even worn down to where that could've worked.) I told her I did not want her to pop them off and that they could just soak. She refused to just let my hands soak for the proper amount of time and kept taking them out every 3 mins to drill. Fine no problem I know this is how some salons do it for time sake. Then she hit my skin with the drill and I was actively bleeding. Like not a small break in the skin it was a whole scratch with blood. Instead of treating where she cut me, she continued to try to put my nail back in the acetone. I told her multiple times that it was burning. I had to ASK her to put something on it to stop the bleeding. After that I told her I no longer wanted the full set, I just wanted to finish the soak off because at this point, my nails need to heal before I do anything else. She then CONTINUES TO TRY TO POP THE TIP OFF THE NAIL THAT IS ALREADY BLEEDING. I asked her is there a particular reason she couldn't just drill the remaining acrylic off? And she said "I'm popping it off bc the acrylic is thick"... so she tries again and I literally feel my natural nail split from her trying to wedge the other tip between my nail and the acrylic. It hurt so bad I pulled my hand back as a reflex. At that point it just told her nevermind and left. Worst experience ever. If I could give 0 stars i would. Left a photo of my nails when I left.

From being too rough removing my cuticles, to leaving polish stains on my fingers, not filing/shaping my nails, to applying the polish patchy and clumpy...etc. Her technique was simply bad and very different from my previous experiences in other salons. Maybe this explained why they only had one other customer. The owner performed my manicure, so I don't know if they have other technicians that do a better job. I had an overall negative experience at this Gloss location. I went in to get my gel polish removed and get a basic manicure. During said manicure, my nail tech Tim was extremely rough while trimming my cuticles, and I expressed to him when it began to hurt. After finishing up (continuing with the rough pressure), he applied the antiseptic treatment to each of the four cuts he subsequently caused. This worsened my pain and made the cuts burn severely, which I also verbally expressed. I didn't receive any apology as my manicure was completed, and I went up to pay afterwards. I explained that I was dissatisfied with the service because it was painful and rushed. I also showed the front desk workers the swelling on my cuticles. At this point, I was accepting their offer to let this go free of charge, which helped relieve some of my frustration. However, minutes after leaving the establishment my painful cuticles began to bleed profusely. Ultimately I would not recommend this nail salon, due to the bare minimum level of alleviating the problem on part of the manager, and the completely careless treatment from Tim, the nail tech. read more

Gloss (Lakeland) is my go to place to get my nails and toes beautified. As I was getting my toes pedicured by Michael, I overheard a Cust becoming upset and ask for another tech because he had used the tool to smooth her heels. Stephen to the rescue! Stephen came over, he apologized about the interaction, showed compassion and empathy. He assured the women he understood her frustration and stated he would fix her up. Instead, they were cut completely down and ended up looking square. I also questioned the base color, since it didn't look natural for a French manicure, but I was assured it would turn out fine. Unfortunately, it didn't, and the lines were uneven and barely visible against the white base. Now, just two days later, the gel top coat on four of my nails has already started peeling. While the woman at checkout was nice enough to acknowledged that I was unhappy, no solution or correction was offered, just an apology.
