This way the technicians can focus on one customer at a time and not feel rushed. There are pros and cons to this but it seems to work for them. Yikes. Went back and was confronted about my review. They stayed for everyone that came in after me and said they didn't leave until 10, 3 hours after they close. Which is cool, but could absolutely be avoided with appointments. Was given a big speech in front of customers about how hard they work (which I never doubted) and how they have families, which I'm not sure how is relevant to my negative experience. The owner said she was uncomfortable helping me because I'd given a bad review. So I guess I won't have the opportunity to change my mind about this place. today was my very first time to visit Gloss Nail & Wax Bar. I just recently moved to Columbus and have been looking for a new nail shop to do my nails and eyebrows. Nicole is great!! she's very easy to talk to & she pays attention to detail and makes sure you get what you are looking for. my nails are shaped perfectly. my natural eyebrows are the absolute worst, they grow out in every direction possible but she was able to trim, shape, and wax them perfectly. they have never looked so good, she even walked me through what she was going to do with them. only thing i have to complain about it that there's no price list posted anywhere! it would be nice to know how much everything is. but i will definitely be back, i'm glad to have found my new nail spot. the girls are young & hip, you'll never have to feel uncomfortable in a salon again. read more

So I went here for a full set because my usual nail tech was beyond booked I looked at the reviews they were mixed opinions, but here my experience my appointment was at 10 they had me wait in my car I was there at 9:45 they didn't call me to come in till 10:15 but told me if I was late I couldn't book again when I asked why I had to wait so long I was told they had to get themselves ready I guess that's what talking and drinking coffee means( I saw from the window as I was sitting on my car) I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my nails when I asked for a new color I got a bit of an attitude from the tech(she said she was new) to the salon, made me not want to ask for anything else but I didn't when I asked here to fix the show cause one of my nails had a obviously dip in the middle she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and did not fix it. Also when it was all said and done it looks like my nails have already grown out many she didn't place the Arcylic far back enough, all in all the shape was good and they look pretty but totally unprofessional and full of attitude,. All for $90 Ps I over heard them talking they left someone sitting in her car for an hour after her time @ 11 because they forgot to call her in, say how she should of called them if she was never called for her appointment , and was talking so much shit about how she wasn't going to allowed to book again and how they were glad because she's so called "difficult" If you want pretty nails sure as long at you can deal with there I'm to good for this attitude. read more

A big thank you to Jamie who did my nails for my honeymoon! I got a pedi and a gel mani. My nails were (and still are) perfectly groomed. I absolutely love them. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the pricing-- I would like have liked to see lower prices but they do a great jo I had such a wonderful time with everyone at the salon. They are so welcoming and fun to be around. I will be returning and I highly recommend this establishment! Update: my second time here was terrible. DO NOT let Nicole near your nails. She was mad at the other manager who it seems is her significant other, which made her attitude completely unacceptable. She was taking her anger out on taking my gel off, she barely let it soak and sandpapered off my gel with vengeance!! This is my third time coming here, and the last two times were very comfortable, but this time I was getting my eyebrows done by someone new, I showed her a picture of what my brows looked like last time and didn't get a response back, then she continued to comb my brows and started waxing then clipping them and put oil on them, the basics. My mom payed and we left, I personally don't think she did a bad job and that's not what I'm saying, of corse I just have to get use to them, but when I got home I noticed that there is still some wax, on my eyelid, and, the side of my face. Do NOT go to Jamie, anyone BUT her honestly. She took 3-4 hours on my fresh set. It was NOT QUALITY. I had lumpy nails, crooked nails (my finger is not crooked, she glued the tip crooked) and my whole nail wasnt even covered with acrylic, I could see my real nail on the side. Which cause pictures to look like shit! There was a black speck in my translucent nails and when I asked her to remove it her response was "really?" I am so happy I tried Gloss Nail & Wax Bar out! It had been entirely too long since my last pedicure, I'm ashamed to admit. Tim took great care of me (and my now happy feet)! The decor is clean & beautiful. I started off with their Grand Pedicure ($54) which included a soak, scrub, mask, paraffin wax, buff and polish. I chose a gel polish which Tim did an excellent job and Nicole did some gorgeous nail art for me! (I was super giddy as I have ALWAYS wanted nail art). After my pedi I chose a basic mani with gel polish. They are so welcoming, accommodating and helpful. You never feel like they're rushing. Very down to earth! I hate leaving negative reviews for small businesses but at this point I can't hold it back. I use to be a regular customer of someone who no longer works in the salon. I loved her and she was so patient and sweet. I don't live close to the salon so it wasn't always convenient for me to make the trip. At the time they didn't offer appointments. So when I was able to I would show up during regular business hours and a few times there would be a sign in the window explaining they decided to close early. I never complained about that but I always thought it was extremely unprofessional. My most recent experience was disappointing. Since covid I decided to take a break from nails. I check out their insta and decided I would inquire about their weekend availability... I will post their response. I've never felt like more of an inconvenience. Also, they didn't read my inquiry properly because I never once asked about facial waxing, I asked about eye brow tint.... which they have listed in their services. Zero professionalism. I thought I'd have good luck getting an old gel manicure removed here and just switch up to a regular manicure since they are a nail bar. I was very wrong. The owners gave off a very strange vibe, when I parked, one was sitting in her car and the other ran away to the back as soon as I walked in. The lady owner pushed me off on to the girl who was working there. The girl was perfectly nice, so that was good. However, she spent a really, really, really long time removing my old nail polish with the dremel type tool. It took her over 30 mins just to remove my old polish. Then, I asked her to square my nails off. 6/10 of my nails were completely crooked! I ended up having to go home and fixing most of them! My polish got applied, there was no method of drying my nails offered! I had to pay after the polish was applied... I ended up with nail polish on my wallet and my phone case. It was also strange to me that the girl didn't know how much a basic manicure was. It ended up being $18. I will never return to this place. Less because of the girl and more bc of the way the owners made me feel and because there was no way to dry my nails. They literally send people out with wet fingernails. It's just strange to me. It's too bad since it was so close to my work. I wasn't going to write this review but I had friends suggest I do bc they'd want to be saved from the same experience I had. My amazing Nail Ninja just moved to this salon. Raney is the best Nail Tech that I gave ever had. Not even exaggerating. When she has done my nails, they have never lifted or broken. Beware of the mother in law. I had a pedicure and gel manicure. Her idea of a manicure was to use her thumb nail to push back my cuticles. There was no trimming. Her idea of cutting/filing was to use the electric roller over the top and across the front of my nail. That was it. Same with toes minus the roller. Both chipped the first day! I've had gel nails last me over 4 week and these didn't last a full 48 hours. Very disappointing. I now have to go to another salon when I get back from vaca and have redone. read more

They charged me for a manicure even though they worked on my nails for maybe seven minutes and injured me twice. They charged her to shape her nails, used gel polish and the entire time she was there they talked crap about all of their customer that they didn't care for. Not impressed with this place. We were in there for four hours. Only one person to do pedis then I waited on my mani. I liked the tech that did my mani. She was very nice. Manager did pedis for my daughter and I. She did good work but was distracted several times because of other issues. I wanted my three yr old granddaughter to have toes painted. She asked her what color did she want. My granddaughter replied pink. Then she proceeded to give my granddaughter the nail samples to pick a color. My granddaughter is three. She said pink. Why give her nail samples? Then manager found them broken and had a fit. My daughter and I apologized several times. But I was quite irritated because she was the one that gave them to a three yr old. I offered to give her $50 towards them but manager refused since I wasn't paying enough to replace them. My grandkids were very good for waiting in there for four hrs. A nine yr old and three yr old. They played on phones and played games. I'll never apologize again for something my granddaughter breaks unless she has taken it without permission. Won't be back to this place ever. Manager has issues. read more

I went here because I was recommended by a coworker, and her nails always look amazing! So I decided to check it out. She said to ask for Nicole, but Nicole was not in on the day I went (which was fine). When I told the tech what I wanted done she barely even listened to me. I was never offered a cut down, which I desperately needed and is pretty standard to get at the time of a balance. I asked for nail art (which is clearly advertised all over their Instagram) and the owner, who was at the next station, loudly questioned what exactly I wanted done and then rolled her eyes at me. She also refused to paint my nails with a matte finish, and told me that matte doesn't last. That's fine!! I still wanted to try a matte finish but wasn't "allowed." So I settled for the typical glossy finish with a glittery accent nail. The nail tech made me bleed and barely buffed or filed my nails. And the ones she did file she just hacked away at. My acrylics looked absolutely horrible when she finished; they were all different sizes and shapes and I had to spend a good amount of time when I got home filing them down. To top it all off, they wanted to charge me $55 for a basic balance and some glitter. Needless to say, I would highly encourage anyone considering Gloss Nails and Wax Bar to save their time and money, just go elsewhere. read more
