I tried MOD for the first time this past weekend and had a wonderful experience. I was running about 10 minutes late and they were still able to fit me in for my mani/pedi. The staff was very kind, and the prices were affordable. The establishment was clean, and I found the dimmer lighting to be relaxing. Sary did a great job on my nails and was fun conversationalist. It has been 2 days, and I have had several compliments on my nails! I have had nails chip within 24 hours of a manicure, so I am very pleased that the manicure is holding up! Stephanie was wonderful with my pedi and made me laugh as we talked about our kids. She also was very understanding when I needed to flex my feet or reposition my legs due to restless leg syndrome. I also love that I can book on the mindbody app on my phone! I will be returning to MOD next week for a freshen up manicure. read more

I found this salon on the MINDBODY app and easily made an appointment. This place super clean and recently renovated this year. It's really nicely decorated and the staff is super friendly! My first gel mani lasted 2 weeks and now I'm onto my second gel mani! The gel removal process at this salon did not damage my nails. I've been to other salons that grind my nails down and it really weakens them. I really appreciate the time they take to appropriately removed the gel polish and manicure the nails. Okay so I have quite a lot to say from my one visit here. I got a pedicure here. Service: (seasonal pedicure): 5/5 I actually really loved the pedicure itself. The pedi took about an hour, and my tech was quick but payed close attention to detail, which I appreciated. They had several beautiful colors to choose from. Included in the pedi, you were able to choose a scent of scrub/lotion/mask, I got the mango and it smelled so amazing. Location: 3/5 It is located in Old Hilliard, and there isn't much about the location to say besides the fact that while it's convenient for me, the parking lot is shared by a few other businesses and it's a small lot to say the least. Customer service: 3/5 Nothing really stood out to me. When I first sat down, I asked if they had wifi and my tech said "yeah but I don't know the password"... and then she continued to start working on my pedi. I'm like "...can you find out?" And she just walked away, came back and told me that her boss will have to find out the password. He then came over and told me to USE DIAMONDS WIFI WHICH IS THE BUSINESS NEXT DOOR. He told a lot of others to use Diamond's wifi, and that just put me off. That is extremely unprofessional and it is essentially stealing. I called Diamonds to let them know they use their wifi and they were quite upset to find out about it. Atmosphere: 4/5 I loved the inside. The whole place is well taken care of and it is very chic. The whole set up is adorable. They have the prettiest pedicure bowls I have ever seen. Lol! The whole place is dim lit which is relaxing. The only thing I don't like is that they have a long bench up against their wall designated for pedicures, and while it looks nice... It's pretty uncomfortable. If you get a pedicure, expect to sit up completely straight for an hour. Prices: 2/5 I think their prices are somewhat comparable to their competitors, but they are a tad bit more expensive. One thing I want to note, is that I feel they are either dishonest about their pricing or misinformed. I called to make an appointment and the woman told me that their seasonal pedicure was originally 42 but they had a special going on for it, and it was currently 38. After everything was said and done, my pedicure ended up being 50 bucks? Grant it, I did add a vinylux polish for 5 dollars more, but 38 plus 5 even with Ohio retail tax doesn't add up to 50, so I was clearly charged the normal price of the pedicure. So it doesn't seem like everyone is on the same page with pricing which is extremely unprofessional. Overall: I will give this place another shot and update my review accordingly. However, my first impression altogether was not the greatest. read more

I've gone here twice. The first time, the nail tech complained about her previous patron to me. It made me incredibly uncomfortable and I didn't want her to do my nails because what would she say about me to the next person? She did okay on my nails but drew blood on 6 fingers while cutting my cuticles. That's not supposed to happen. Second time I went they didn't do a good job. My gel manicure came off in 3 days and my whole nail wasn't even painted. I had 2-3 cm by my cuticles that weren't covered and the sides of my nails were bare. I returned because of a deal they were having and I had forgotten I ever went there (oopsies?). Won't be returning since nail salons are in abundance. Don't make people bleed and please make sure you're covering a majority of the nail when paying to get nails done! ***UPDATE: The manager reached out to me and has apologized for my past experiences. She offered a complimentary manicure done by one of the owners should I return to Mod Salon. I appreciate that and will add to my review if that transpires. read more

I was trolling Hilliard, looking for a place to indulge my pre-Mother's Day need to be pampered and spied "Mod Salon ". It was new looking and promising- I stepped in the door and asked about available services. I knew I was in the market for a pedicure... the prices were decent and the atmosphere quietly sophisticated, without seeming intimidatingly snooty. I signed up for their "Pleasure" pedicure: a full hour of foot care in a massage chair with an expert and amiable technician, and added on the French nail finish. This place has all the right components. Tasteful decor in a subtle silver and black tone, friendly attentive personnel, care that makes you feel happy to be there, and a very clean environment. Don't underestimate that last factor. Close attention is paid to sanitary practice. I walked away with soft and beautifully polished feet, a feeling of peace and contentment ( foot massage will do that for me!) and taking personal note that I am going back- and taking friends and family with me if possible. What can I say? I found complete satisfaction with a beauty service and at a reasonable cost. You just can't beat that combination in my book. read more

I absolutely love Mod Salon! I first went for a pedicure before my wedding with my bridesmaids and mother. They schedule bigger groups at the end of the day so you have all of their attention, and they let us bring in champagne and chocolate. I have gone back countless times for pedicures and even got my nails done most recently. Everyone who works there does an excellent job and they make you feel right at home. The owners are unprofessional, unwelcoming and only acknowledge their own clients. I went to Mod for years and could count on two fingers the number of times the female owner acknowledged my presence... forget going as far as thanking me for my business. The female owner is also extremely loud and always running her mouth about herself. You could be all the way in the back pedicure area and hear her from the very front of the salon... doesn't really create the serene, peaceful environment their website claims. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where I am acknowledged and valued. Definitely skip this place. read more

I really enjoyed getting my nails done here, but my gels starting peeling off by themselves after a week and a half. I get gel manicures because they last on my nails for at least a month. Then, when I called, I was told that there was nothing they could do because their policy was to only fix it if they peel within the first two days. Probably won't be going back. read more

I've been to Mod a several different times. I like the specials they run in Facebook. I've had all good experiences except for the last time. I came in for a special with a new tech. I expected the tech was just building her client base but actually she had just graduated nail school within the past 2 weeks. I wanted the get a gel mani/ gel pedi. The new tech was nice but she didn't feel comfortable giving me a gel pedicure. Thankfully, another team member jumped in to help her out. However, when I asked the young ladies if someone could give me a mani while a get a pedi they gave me attitude that they can't don't that & my nail tech was new was why it was taking so long. My gel pedi took 1 hour and 15 minutes. New nails techs should only be scheduled to give services they feel confident doing. When I went to check out and ''I was told that I had to pay the full price because I cancelled the mani. I said will not pay $69 for a gel pedicure that took way to long. The manager came over and corrected the issue. I left quite disappointed over the entire situation. I'm not sure I'll return based on the way I was treated and I was a returning customer. There are other nails salons that provide more efficient techs who are kinder. read more

A co-worker recommended Mod Salon to me recently. I LOVE this nail salon. I've had three appointments: 1 for gel manicure and toe polish change, 1 for pedicure, and 1 for gel manicure. Every appointment was excellent. They have a large selection of gel polish colors and brands. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service is awesome. And the products are high quality. I've had gel manicures at several other locations in the Columbus area since I moved here and by far Mod Salon is the best. My nails looked great even longer than the customary 2 weeks expected from a gel manicure. At other salons my nail polish started chipping about a week and a half after the appointment and my pedicures were just okay. I will continue to patronize this establishment and highly recommend them. read more

It was my first time there. I just moved here from out of state. The inside is decorated really cute. I like the Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn paintings in the front lobby. They are beautiful. My daughter and I both got basic manicures. They did a nice job. Unprofessional. I wanted a pedi with my friend and then a gel manicure. We called to make an appointment for the pedis at 1 and my nails at 1215. They couldn't get our friend in with us so they should have just told us no. When I arrived for my 1215 appointment they were upset my friend wasn't there and said both our appointments were at 1215 which wasn't the plan when we made the appointment. They did my pedi first. Then when my friend got there we were catching up and the nail tech kept cutting me off talking about her own personal stories. I then had my gel mani done, wasn't the greatest but I'm not one to complain to much. However when I got home I looked at my receipt and it was a trainee doing my nails which no informed me of. It's not her fault at all. No one was watching her process while doing my nails. I got home and my cuticles were still over grown and my edges were sharp and catching on things. I had one nail that was broke at the tip and it didn't even get filed or reshaped to blend in. It was hard to tell in there with the dim lighting. Today, the morning after my gel is already peeling off and you can see my extra cuticles. I'm a nurse I work long hours and gloves aren't the greatest on my side nails. I had already spent three hours in the salon and was unable to go back that night when I called to let them know they were messed up. The lady on the phone was very unprofessional and told me the manager was busy, she did say they would fix them but was unable to accommodate to my schedule. I get it that's it's a business but my time is just as valuable and I had already spent three hours in there. I was going to go back that night but unfortunately could not so I called back to tell them and they told me the name of the lady I had just spoken too, who is the assistant manager but did not provide that detail when I called to complain. I'm a nurse in a Covid ICU, who just wanted a relaxing day with her friends, and it made my day anything but relaxing and the unprofessionalism was uncalled for. I understand everyone is new at some point and is learning but there was no supervision and I was not informed. It was a waste of time. read more

I had a mani/pedi done by a newer technician. The shellac mani wasn't that great and the nailpolish started coming off my toenails within 4 days...HOWEVER, they were redone at no charge and after almost 10 days, my pedi is still perfect! I also broke a nail inbetween the time I was able to make it back there for the re-do and it was fixed for free! If you ever get a not so good mani or pedi, THEY WILL FIX IT FOR YOU. :-) read more

No complaints. I was a walk-in appointment and they were able to get me in. The salon was CLEAN! My nail technician was Bora. She was thorough, clean, had great conversation and engaging. I wanted to let you know that I LOVE this salon. The salon itself is serene, clean, and really a nice place to go. It does not smell chemically like some other salons. The people are friendly and really know their nails! I have been coming in regularly (which is something for me) and have had different people work on my nails. I have had good results from everyone. I got a lot of very nice complements on my nails during Christmas. I told them where I went and highly recommended they try out Mod Salon. Prices are very reasonable. If you are in a hurry, you might want to go somewhere else. They were about 10-15 minutes late. The technician did apologize. The technician was nice and did a great job. To me a pedicure should be relaxing and due to my height (I'm short) the bench row instead of a pedicure chair was very uncomfortable and made my knees and hip hurt. NEVER get your eyebrows waxed here!!! I got mine waxed yesterday and I don't think that I could've stressed enough that I wanted them left thick. The girl waxed off most of my eyebrows and put the ugliest, most unnatural arch in one of them that I'm almost in tears. I'm going to have to draw my eyebrows on until they grow back. The only reason I got them done there is because I was getting my nails done and I regret it so much! My nails came out horrible too! NEVER going back to this place!!!!! read more

this used to be my favorite nail place however it has slowly gone down hill over the past 6 months. though the atmosphere is enjoyable the customer service leaves alot to be desired. Most recently I went for a basic mani and the very next day my nails were already chipping (mind you I didnt do anything that would have caused this) , I was very disappointed as this salon isn't the cheapest. So I contacted the salon via their website, making them aware of what had happened and I was told that they would replace my mani free of charge. The next time I went in to have this done, I was made to feel as if I was lying and that they never said they would replace the mani. To the point I had to search my phone for the email. In the end, my mani was not replaced. There was no apology - nothing. I am very disappointed because for the amount this salon charges I would expect better customer service. Other things I have experienced - when getting a mani, I had to ask repeatedly for the tech to apply the polish all the way to my cuticle (otherwise it looks like the mani had already grown out a week) and to apply the polish all the way to the sides of my nails. The pedi's are not as good as they used to be either. Overall customer service does not seem to be a top priority. I will be looking for a new salon. read more
