My 8 year old daughter wanted to play softball with her cousin, so once a week, we drive to this park from Temple City. From a strictly-softball perspective, the place is top-notch... 4 swinging 5 stars: there is a full sized softball/baseball diamond, aluminum bleachers, lights for night practice/games, and all the green grass you could ever care to hit a ball to. But the park overall is just sort of OK-- parking is extremely limited to maybe a dozen cars in a small lot (you're more than likely going to have to find a space in nearby neighborhoods, and the residents look at you out their windows like you're selling CutCo knives or something.) The park seems to share a lot with a private tennis club, which also competes for parking. The park itself is bisected by a huge, deep, and somewhat terrifying storm drain river channel. It's like a 40 or 50 foot drop to the bottom, and while there is a chainlink fence on both sides, your kid is a short climb away from destiny and REALLY seems to want to look down in there and throw stuff, too. The playground is across a small footbridge that crosses this big scary storm river channel, and the bathrooms are somewhere way over in the corner, far away from wherever you are. Honestly, I've been to better parks. This one seems to be an afterthought, thrown in between neighborhoods and two busy streets connecting La Crescenta and Glendale. If I didn't have to come here, I wouldn't. read more

Glorietta Park is a perfect park to walk your dog, take your kids to play on the playground equipment, play tennis, play soccer or watch a baseball game. The park is nestled in between the Verdugo Mountains and the San Rafael Hills. You also have a lovely view of Mt. Lukens and the San Gabriels to the north. It is just south of Sparr Heights. There is a great little deli across the street called Old Fashioned Deli if you want to pick up some things for a picnic. There is a court fee for tennis, but at least they always have an attendant and you don't have to worry about driving somewhere and all the tennis courts are busy. You most likely need a reservation with the City of Glendale Parks and Recreation to use the baseball field, so check that out ahead of time. There is a little parking lot off of Glorietta Avenue and plenty of street parking. read more

WHERE'S THE BATHROOMS...I gotta pee!?!?!?!!!! Ohh yeah..the bathrooms are wayyy over the hill, past Verdugo, over the bridge, past the tennis courts, around the playground, in that one corner! What kind of crap is that? You have to trek so far to use the restroom esp from the softball diamond/field. Crap! Bumpysoftball fields, sad outfield grass with holes, uneven grass, dirt, etc. Uncomparable to the Glendale Sports Complex. Also limited parking. The park does look nice though...nicely groomed trees and bushes. read more

PARENTS BEWARE: I visited this park for the first time today and even though the park is nice, what I witnessed today is haunting me. Apparently there is an older man who lives in the area and visits the park several times a day, and gets a little too close to the kids which makes the parents really uncomfortable. Those who frequent the park know him and grab their kids and run when he gets close. Please be alert and aware if you decide to visit this park. As for me, I would rather drive 15 minutes to a different park to avoid this man. read more

GREAT LOCATION--HORRIBLE--BUSINESS OWNER! VIGEN the owner manager of the courts ONLY rents the courts to his Armenian "friends"! He picks and chooses "who" the courts are available for. UNBELIEVABLE but true. He has given me the run around so many times - I only played "his game" because I love the location. But I finally gave up. If you call he will also pick and choose who he answers the phone to. He will not respond to voice mails. Or texts. Or will make you wait hours or days to confirm if and when a court will be available - even though initially he said it would be. What kind of business man does that? I used to live across from this park a couple years ago, and still come here as it's become my family's go to park for get togethers. Went today for my aunts party and the kids still love the playground. There are two playgrounds, one for smaller kids and the other for older youth, as well as a sandlot. Park is open, and there is a gate that opens in the back to a residential area so definitely keep an eye on your little ones. Limited seating 4-5 picnic tables. read more

We play slow pitch softball here a few weeks out of the year and I always seem to have problems with parking Cons: Parking is awful. There is a small lot that can hold maybe 8 cars . . . and the rest is on the streets. The bathrooms are nowhere near the tennis courts or the softball diamond. The outfield is horrible, patches . . . holes . . . uneven grass. . . and their infield is so inconsistent, tons of dirt in one area and other area are rock solid . . . all of which makes it extremely hard to read the ball. Overall: The park isn't the worst thing in the world because it is in a decent area and the facilities are decently well kept but I think some small modifications can make some big differences. read more

Stopped by here on friday night to play a game of tennis... My first game of tennis ever. It wasn't crowded at all on a friday night so that was cool. I was surprised you had to pay to use the courts but it was only like $5 for an hour. I'm surprised I lasted an hour but I did and I only hit one ball over the fence! haha This park always seems pretty full in the afternoons with soccer games, baseball games and picnics. Most likely I'll be looking for free courts to play at in the future but nice to know this spot for when the other courts are all full. read more

This is a review ONLY for the playground area. Went on a Monday and the park was clean and great. The playground structures were new and clean. They had plenty of swings for both young and older kids. There were concrete covered and uncovered benches as well. The only drawback I could see was that they don't have a parking lot. This park is easily accessible from the 2 Freeway to North Verdugo Road. Perfectly nestled between Verdugo Mountains and San Rafael Hills. This is one of our favorite parks. My kids LOVE it! We come here often and we've been early as well as late in the day, on weekends and weekdays, and it's never crowded. There are plenty of play areas and things for the kids to do, and it's one of the only parks we ever go to where we never have to wait for the swings -- they have a ton! Parking can be a little bit tricky, but if you know the spots, you can always find one. read more

Excellent Park to play tennis, Clean courts always someone there to help you out and answer questions i think there are 2 instructors there for tennis lesson not sure how much they charge. its 5.50 an hour for tennis court rental.. there is a baseball field next to the courts. and a small park behind the tennis courts for kids... all in all a great place to play tennis read more
