Great community park with music on the weekends beginning Memorial Day. This is the biggest park in the city and is nice to visit for the following reasons: 1) Two nice play structures for young children 2) Large area for picnicking, playing sports or running around 3) Several picnic benches under the trees for shade 4) It's always clean and well maintained 5) Farmers Market on Saturdays across the street 6) Music in the Park 2012 through Labor Day from 6-8 pm as follows: June 3 - Swing: Andrews Sisters Tribute, The Sisters of Swing June 10 - Classic Rock - Misplaced Priorities June 17 - Classic Rock - Padres Trail Project June 24 - Smooth Jazz - David Sagal Jazz Quintet July 1 - A Tribute to Elvis - Steve Roth July 8 - Big Band - The Jack Lantz Big Band July 15 - Soca & Reggae Music - Upstream July 22 - Blues - L.A. Bluescasters July 29 - Light Rock - Pacific Coast Highway (They are great!) August 5 - Country - Brian Lynn Jones & the Misfit Cowboys - Cars 2 movie after August 12 Traditional Irish/Celtic - The Fenians August 19 - Surf Rock - Surfin' Safari: A Beach Boys Tribute August 26 - Tribute to Neil Diamond - Hot August Night

Very clean. Play area for young kids. Several tables to use. Large grassy area. Gazebo where bands can play. Many community activities held here.

Yeah for park adventures! Great play structures for little kids and big-little kids Nice native landscape adventure trail. Open grass perfect for picnics, cartwheels, somersaults and soccer games Street parking Picnic tables Bathrooms The only negatives I found were: Limited swings Limited areas of midday shade

    5 to 12-year-old playground

Easy access to 2 playground areas for different kids plenty of parking public bathrooms which are fair. fenced from the busy road and the grassy area to play on. Lots of mature Trees and the canopy shade the 2 to 5 year old playground. The grassy area is great for soccer balls and picnics. The only thing that would be a little bit better is if the bathrooms were very clean and without graffiti I would give it another star.

Nice park with shade. clean restrooms. on Saturday there's farmer's market across the street. Swings and slides. separate area for small kids. There is grass area next to the playground.

    Finally installing a shade canopy!

Nice little park with plenty of room to run around. The two playgrounds were well maintained.

Nice park, smells a little bit of dog shit or diaper poop, I'm not sure. The only annoying part is the 210 freeway underneath

Perfect hike for a hot day…read more I love waterfall hikes and listening to the sound of calm, running water. The added challenge on these hikes is the multiple stream crossings. I brought some hiking poles which helped with balance and probing for loose rocks and logs. If you want to get parking in the lower lot, it's best to come before 8AM. We found parking in the second lot. An Adventure Pass or Day Pass is required. Parking is enforced. A car received a ticket for being in a No Parking zone. The start of the trail is nicely shaded. The second half is a hilly, narrow, sun exposed path which routes back into the canyon toward the Lower Switzer Falls. I'm glad they had fencing on some narrow and steep parts of the trail. We encountered an active rattlesnake which headed down the mountain, so be on the lookout. Overall, the hike takes about 3 hours for 5.5 miles. The additional hike back up to the parking lot was about 1/4 of a mile. Note: if you need to use the restroom, it's best to bring your own toilet paper and to go before you start your hike. It was kind of smelly, but if you gotta go... you gotta go.

This place is great for fully appreciating nature! The trail is around 5-5.5 miles round trip,…read moredepending on where you park. What impressed me most about this trail is that it's almost fully covered by shade. We went in the late afternoon, and I'd say probably 80-85% of it is covered. Very impressive! Here are some useful tips: 1. There are three parking lots: two are next to the highway, and one is near the hiking entrance. I'd recommend getting a parking pass if possible. 2. There are only three restrooms at the beginning of the trail, so use them when you see them. 3. If you're aiming to go to the waterfall, make sure to look for the signs. Some signs aren't very clear, so we had to stop and ask other hikers frequently. Luckily, people there are super friendly and happy to help. Just pay attention to your surroundings. 4. The trail is dog-friendly, but dogs must be on a leash. 5. Waterproof hiking boots are recommended. All in all, it's a fun trail. It's a great place for a picnic and camping, and it's very close to the stream. Great for kids, families, and pets!
