Parking inside is pretty limited, but there's usually plenty of street parking nearby if you don't mind a bit of a walk.

When we visited there wasn't a lot of people, but they have a tennis court, a basketball court and a small little playground for kids. They had a few tables around the park. There's not a lot of traffic around the park so it seems safe for your kids if you plan to bring them to play. If you're from around the area and need to take a breather and time to walk, this is a good place to walk around. I saw a few joggers, but it was mostly quiet and hardly anyone around. Since COVID19 a lot of restaurants are not allowing you to dine-in, so this is a good little place to picnic with your friends or family. We ended up staying in the car and parked right by the park. We were in a rush since we came around the holidays, so we could not stay to enjoy it. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to go for a picnic and Eagle Rock isn't allowing dine-in, then I would definitely come back. It's not crowded, it's clean, it looks safe and there's a few benches to hangout. I did not get a chance to check the restrooms, but it did not look bad from the outside view. The grass and trees around the park look well taken care of by the city.

I love that the Parking is right there And very easy to spot what I love the most is how there was disability parking easy to find and that the grassy Hill was not too difficult for my elderly relatives to walk up slowly with their walker, their cane and assisted with the wheelchair so it was good fun for everyone Multiple generations not too hot really good shade and something that could be enjoyed by the older crowd and little kids.

There are 10 trails throughout the park which varies in length, elevation and level of difficulty. They are as follows: Le Mesnager loop, Rim of the Valley, Dunsmore Canyon, Vineyard, Mummy Rock, Crescenta View, Cooks Canyon, Haines Canyon, Mt Lukens and Pickens Spur. Moreover, trails on the site provide spectacular views of the Crescenta Valley and the Los Angeles basin. I arrived early morning and decided to do the easy Dunsmore Canyon (elev gain 600 ft) is a mile long with extremely rocky trail; this canyon intersects with Crescenta View, Le Mesnager Loop, Mummy Rock and Vinyard trails. The view was amazing! Dogs are allowed as long as they're on a leash. Public bathroom is available. Parking lot is free albeit limited. Overall, it's a great park to go on a hiking adventure. I highly recommend you visit.

I love visiting Descanso Gardens -- this is not our first time here, and we keep coming back again…read moreand again. The gardens are beautiful in every season. Right now, roses and poppies are in bloom, and there are still a few camellias left. Lilacs, magnolias, tulips, and mimosa have already finished blooming, but there's still plenty to enjoy and see. One of the great things is that you can visit for free with an EBT card -- just show it at the entrance, which makes this place more accessible for families . There is a large free parking lot, which is very convenient. Inside, you'll also find a few cozy coffee spots and a nice gift shop. It's a perfect place for a peaceful walk, to relax, and to enjoy nature. Highly recommend!

We went to a fourth birthday party at Dunsmore Park and it was a great place to spend a Sunday…read moreafternoon with several small children. We took two of our own and we all had a lovely time. Parking was easy, in a lot right near the playground. There were a few parties going on but the park was small enough that we had no trouble finding the right one. The park was great, well kept and inviting. Even the bathroom wasn't bad--I generally avoid park bathrooms but had to attend Leo, and this one wasn't disgusting. The playground was nice and our four-year-old Leo B. enjoyed himself running around the play structure. I liked that the party was set up at tables close to the playground, so we didn't have to spend the whole party fighting our child's desire to run and climb. He also liked being at the party, especially when the piñata came out. Our toddler had a good time, too, and took a little nap in his stroller after a walk on the smooth concrete path winding through the park grounds. We live pretty far from La Crescenta, so we won't be spending too much time here, but I really liked Dunsmore Park. It worked well as a party venue and was just an all-around pleasant place for a weekend family outing. We'd make good use of it if we were in the neighborhood.
