This park offers plenty to families, with a newly remodeled playground and a recreation center that has compiters for learning and a 2nd floor for basketball... They have lots picnic areas that allow you to BBQ for free and tables to eat at. You will notice tons of older gentlemen playing backgammon and chess, young adults working out and kids all over the place enjbeing kids. Only tough part is the parking because it's nestled in the center of a residential area where most of the spots are used by those living around there... So if you're looking for a quiet and safe neighborhood style park come on over and check it out.

This park is so great, my little guys had so much fun! I really appreciate the ground being baby friendly for my little guy to crawl around to be able to play and explore the park along with his big brother. It's clean, there were hardly any people there so we had the park to ourselves, great hidden gem in the area.

First time coming here with my 2 year old today and I LOVED what they did to the park. I'm not sure when they remodeled it, it must have been pre-covid because some of the photos I see on this page are still the old photos before they brought in a new playground set. If you are familiar with the playground set at Shane's inspiration in Griffith Park, you will notice that they have the same play sets here! They have a small parking lot but I noticed there were a lot of street parking spots as well. We came to the park around 8:30-9 am and there were a lot of spots opened. My son loved playing with everything at the park, it kept him so busy and active for a whole hour! The musical instrument section was his favorite, he loves banging on the drums and playing with the xylophone. The entire playground is castle and dragon themed and it was so cute walking around and seeing the different pictures and cartoons they had on the wall. At one point my son got a little tired from the playground so we decided to walk around the park, there is a short walking trail, tennis court, and workout machines throughout this small park. This park and Palmer Park are definitely our favorite playground parks in the neighborhood!

What a cute little park with an awesome playground for the little ones and friendly elder men hanging around playing cards or dominoes. The playground is very clean and ample. It is castle-themed which makes it so unique. There are different types of swings for different ages, multiple slides, ladders and climbing areas, music instruments like a xylophone, and other interactive areas for kids. There is plenty of shady sitting area and water fountains. Also, there is an area to get your work out done with different exercise equipment. The restrooms are located inside the office building and they are very clean! Nowadays, clean restrooms at a park are rare to find but that's not the case at Maple Park. The parking lot is tiny but there is street parking available all around. I will bring my little one again when I am in the Glendale area. I definitely recommend this little gem!

One of my favorite places to walk to in the neighborhood. It has a real sense of community....old men playing nostalgic board games, kids and families running around the playground, dog walkers galore, soccer and tennis practices.....the park just continuously buzzes with life. And i get a free workout out of it...can't beat that!

This was a really great park. The playground Waac huge and had lots of equipment and instruments and educational toys. It's all pretty enclosed in a quiet neighborhood so it was great for letting my 15 month old run around. It was very clean and fairly empty. Lots of room to picnic or bring a dog too. Def will come again. Also the clock is very cool!

Newly redone & more accessible for kiddos w various abilities!! Love it

I'd passed by this park so many times over the past 30 or so years that I've lived in a near by area. I didn't stop and bring my lil one here until real recently. The reason we decided to stop was because the park had been redone. It is so wonderful that the park equipment has been updated and in ways that make it all inclusive for all the kiddos who will play here. The equipment is new and clean. The surface under all the equipment is that spongey, bouncy foamy type rubber. There are several slides, ramps, bridges, ladders and other types of climbing areas. There are ramps, several swings for kids with varying abilities and I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it is. My lil one was able to do so many more things at this park than we imagined. I love the sitting area. It's perfect for parents to sit and share a snack with their kiddos and then to sit there and watch them while they play. As far as things for the adults to do, there are some simple exercise equipment that a lot of elderly folks we're using. There is a tennis court here but I'm not sure if you need a reservation to get in there or what. I love that the restrooms are so clean now and that they are a tad hidden and so there aren't bunches of homeless folks in there bathing from the sinks and what not. Now, this park is a nicely renewed lil gem of a park. I wish there were a way to enforce the no smoking policies, esp because I'd been told several times that the entire city of Glendale is supposed to be smoke free but I feel like most of the time, folks who are smoking try and be mindful of the kids where they are playing. Maple Park has a tiny parking lot but earlier in the day, there is more than enough space to park. I cannot even tell you how excited I am that there are so many pieces of equipment for my lil one to play on now. We were told that the park is going to have a sort of re-grand opening next weekend, on the 17th of August. I'm so so so happy that this park is so much cleaner now and that it is a lot more welcoming. It is so much safer now and I really appreciate that the sitting areas are clean and that they are facing the play areas. It gives a place for everyone to sit, share a snack, actively watch their kiddos play at the park, etc. I love the castle theme with the faux draw bridge, towers, and even knight cut outs. Super cool!

Artsy sundial clock.

It was a crowded park which I thought was just okay and basic. Diverse crowd and cool castle theme!

Very cool playground and structures. However, most adults don't wear masks. For this reason, I would avoid. What a shame.

Ask the Community - Maple Park

If I need to do a birthday for my daughter. Do I need to reserve the sitting area outside under the shade, or it's first come first serve?

It is first come first serve but to have them celebrate you have to reserve

When we visited there wasn't a lot of people, but they have a tennis court, a basketball court and a small little playground for kids. They had a few tables around the park. There's not a lot of traffic around the park so it seems safe for your kids if you plan to bring them to play. If you're from around the area and need to take a breather and time to walk, this is a good place to walk around. I saw a few joggers, but it was mostly quiet and hardly anyone around. Since COVID19 a lot of restaurants are not allowing you to dine-in, so this is a good little place to picnic with your friends or family. We ended up staying in the car and parked right by the park. We were in a rush since we came around the holidays, so we could not stay to enjoy it. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to go for a picnic and Eagle Rock isn't allowing dine-in, then I would definitely come back. It's not crowded, it's clean, it looks safe and there's a few benches to hangout. I did not get a chance to check the restrooms, but it did not look bad from the outside view. The grass and trees around the park look well taken care of by the city.

Parking was easy, in a lot right near the playground. There were a few parties going on but the park was small enough that we had no trouble finding the right one. The park was great, well kept and inviting. Even the bathroom wasn't bad--I generally avoid park bathrooms but had to attend Leo, and this one wasn't disgusting. The playground was nice and our four-year-old Leo B. enjoyed himself running around the play structure. I liked that the party was set up at tables close to the playground, so we didn't have to spend the whole party fighting our child's desire to run and climb. He also liked being at the party, especially when the piñata came out. Our toddler had a good time, too, and took a little nap in his stroller after a walk on the smooth concrete path winding through the park grounds. We live pretty far from La Crescenta, so we won't be spending too much time here, but I really liked Dunsmore Park. It worked well as a party venue and was just an all-around pleasant place for a weekend family outing. We'd make good use of it if we were in the neighborhood.
