We finally experienced the free Shakespeare performances in Griffith Park, and it was so much more…read morethan just a play--it was a whole summer evening experience. People arrive early with blankets, picnic baskets, snacks, and drinks, creating such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere before the show even begins. A few tips from our experience: There is a large free parking lot, and it's well organized with bright signs leading you all the way to the performance area. Even though it was our first visit, finding the venue wasn't difficult--it just felt like a fun little adventure! Even on a Wednesday, the crowd was surprisingly large, so arriving early is definitely worth it. (Independent Shakespeare Co.) Bring a blanket, but don't forget a small cushion! The performance lasts over two hours, and sitting on the ground can get uncomfortable. If you're bringing folding chairs, please sit toward the back so everyone can enjoy the view. There is a 20-minute intermission, giving you plenty of time to stretch your legs, grab a snack, or refill your tea. It gets much cooler after sunset, so bring a light jacket or something warm to throw over your shoulders. A thermos of hot tea is a great idea too. Feel free to bring food and drinks, but be prepared to share your picnic with a few curious bees and other insects. There is a portable restroom on-site, and if it's locked, the access code is 3343. The production quality really impressed us. Professional lighting, excellent sound, microphones--it honestly felt like watching a performance in a real theater, just under the stars. Video recording isn't allowed during the performance, so you can simply relax and enjoy the moment. The host also shared some exciting news--they're building a brand-new stage nearby, and there's a good chance next season's performances will take place there. We'll definitely be back in August for The Comedy of Errors. If you're looking for one of the most unique free summer experiences in Los Angeles, this is one I highly recommend.

It's close to home and offers a lot of activities to do. It has children's playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, 4 BIG, tennis courts, a dirt track, clean bathrooms, picnic area, nice spacious landscape and the most important, it's kept nice and clean. This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. I am not going to dock a star for that since it meets all the other amenities & requirements.

The arcade is a room with about 10 games - only half of which work + all of which are filthy. They are very expensive. Our races started almost 30 minutes late. What should have been a fun party ended up being an extra hour long, and really expensive. I have not recommended this venue to friends. This is a classic Hollywood experience that takes you behind the scenes of active and historical…read moremovie sets. The tour is done in a group of about 14 people, with an electric cart taking you around facades, sound stages, and other parts of the studio. You can park in the studio garage for $20. We came on a Saturday and found plenty of free street parking nearby. We parked on Avalon Street, around the corner. The arrival experience felt somewhat disorganized. There are two sets of doors to enter the facility, but neither was clearly marked as an entrance. Inside, there is a Starbucks on the left, bathrooms, and what appears to be a ticketing area. We had purchased online tickets for $69 per person as California residents. After going through a metal detector--which went off because of both my wife's and my belts--we were hand-scanned. Several attendants asked to see our tickets without actually scanning them, which added to the feeling that the entrance process could have been better organized. The tour begins with an exhibit about the Warner brothers, who tried their hands at several businesses before becoming successful in the movie industry. The exhibit emphasizes their success in making movies about ordinary people and their everyday problems. I was surprised, however, that it didn't mention that the brothers were Jewish or the antisemitism their family experienced. Given the emphasis on their family background and connection to ordinary people, I thought that historical context was missing. Our guide, Divey, took us around several buildings and lots of facades where movies such as Spider-Man and Inception, as well as numerous television shows, were filmed. We went inside a sound studio and visited several Stage buildings. I ended up learning much more about how movies and television are actually made than I expected. The second part of the tour included a Central Park café surrounded by the Foley sound exhibit, a Friends exhibit, and a gift shop dedicated to the show. We enjoyed cappuccinos while admiring the incredibly realistic cake props. We then boarded an electric tram for the final part of the visit. This was where the signage became confusing again. There was no clear indication that the tram would take us to the Harry Potter exhibit but the line was for the Superman area, which required an additional ticket we didn't have. There was also a minor seating mix-up: an attendant initially told the four of us to sit on the same bench and then asked us to move because only three people were allowed there. The Harry Potter exhibit itself was excellent. Harry's cupboard-under-the-stairs, the chimney with Hogwarts invitations, the Sorting Hat, and especially the Potions shop were spectacular. Overall, we had a great time. Compared with the Universal Studios tour, Warner Bros. felt much less crowded and more contemplative. We also noticed far fewer children than we typically see at Universal, which contributed to the quieter atmosphere. If you're interested in how movies and television are actually made--and especially if you enjoy classic Hollywood, Friends, or Harry Potter--this is a very worthwhile experience. Just expect some confusing signage and a somewhat disorganized arrival process.This version keeps the review positive but credible: the criticisms are specific rather than overwhelming, while the strongest parts of your experience get more emphasis.

I knew of George Izay Park in Burbank but never checked it out till recently and I am glad I did. It's so close to Magnolia, Victory, Olive and many busy areas in Burbank, but when you are there it feels so remote. It is so quiet quiet with many trees and birds around, we saw a few woodpackers. It isn't huge but for LA is a pretty big park with many parking options, a few lots and streets. It has a big playground for kids, lawns, many picnic tables and benches, restrooms, water fountains, a recreation room, tennis and basketball courts (among others), a couple of museum, an arts center, a small theater. It is a small world here I didn't know about and it's a world I enjoyed being around. They even have a Starfighter in front (connected with the Burbank Historical museum that's located in the complex) There are some people around, but it isn't crowded, there are shady spots, tall trees. I personally enjoyed the peace, we relaxed with a couple of books and celebrated Valentine's Day with a picnic. Great park with so much to offer, nice to have around for various activities, a pleasant way to enjoy the outdoors.

I'm just learning how big this park truly is with some long-standing landmarks like the Lockheed air jet, huge playground, tennis courts, multiple fields (baseball, soccer, plus more) and additional courts (handball, basketball, etc) and even home to the Joselyn Adult Center. Ample parking on the street and in the spacious lot (make a turn onto N Griffith Park Dr from Olive). It's one of the cleanest and welcoming LA Parks you'll visit especially in the San Fernando Valley. There's even a city Metro bus stop right in front I take here and/or catch back toward home. I called the number for the company today and got a voice mail "that we are probably out on the river". I have not received a refund. These are not reliable people to do business with.

On the other side of the tortilla, we have the phrase, look before you leap, to empower the cautious with comfort that their spreadsheets and detailed- planning is not excessive because after all they cannot buy a car or a scooter without fully understanding what comes after the purchase. This same notion annoys the fools that rush because it reminds them that sometimes running without knowing what is in the dark is not just adreanline chasing but can result in being eaten by a big bad wolf or piranahas. I say all this to give weight to the following contradiction: some people have lived in LA so long that they believe everything has been seen and done, while other longtime Angeleno residents believe that there is still wonder to discover in LA's streets. I kind of settled into the I have seen much of LA, there is little to discover. And then I went to Barnsdall Art Park and i was reminded that LA's beauty is truly never-ending. I have never been to this park, even though I had heard it. And I know this is easily challenged and debunked but I arrrived to this place on the night I should have visited. Because when I went there was a celestial event viewing my stroll: a lunar eclipse. That is why the views were more than stunning, they were uniquely framed by what seemed to be an organge blood moon. But before we get to the moon, I have to discuss the parking situation. I saw an open space in font of the park. But I decided not too park there, LA parking can be weird with its signs. So I entered the park and drove around for about 15 to 20 minutes trying to find a place to park and then I did. It was easy but required patience and not exiting the purpose due to frustration. Patience is watiing, enduring frustration is intention. I walked into the park and the first thing I felt was that the air and sights seemed to be scorching quietly and without menancing intent. Like the air on top felt on fire but the fire did not burn, it was embedded into the early-evening-moment like patches of quilt sown to make two, one of the whole. Then I saw the steps that led to a gorgeous lush scene with those big tall trees that line a palacial walkway to the palace's ornate front door. The same kind of trees that kind of define Greystone Mansion. This was being in nature in a comfortable way. As I continued to walk I discovered the art festival they were holding in August. I am not recalling the name. But, as it was explained to me by a vendor, that it was PBS giving free airtime to folks and people could view the taping. Maybe I am wrong, but it sounded about right. There were also vendors selling items. One of them was selling taped recordings of his podcasts. Very nice market, I know. But he said that him and his partner discussed different funny stories, like for example a hitman was hired to kill some ducks in Florida. And he and his partner would make riffs off that---- one might be, the ducks had their final bill coming. But who listens to tapes anymore? After that I came to the view. There it was, LA in a summer night. It was epic, Like seeing LA for the first time, and feeling its old wonder at the same time. I brought a towel and sat. And sat. There was a wine party going on in the back. But I just sat. And then, 9 to 5 came on, the Dolly Parton song. She recently passed. I have heard Jolene, I have seen Dolly on the Orville, I have seen the billboards that reminded us to see the good in people as Dolly does. Her death struck me. The moment allowed me to cry just a tad. Not really because of Dolly but because the moment allowed for tears to flow when one things about stuff. Meaning that the place was honestly one where reflection became appropriate and easily achieved. The place had serenity and space. Siddharta could teach here and match his name's reputation. I continued to walk and then I saw the sight of the Griffith. One I had seen many times before. But here the Griffting changed its form. I am not sure if it was the summer night but that is what i saw--- a stronhold lt by fire on sticks that was placed on holders that lay on walls. Then I continued to walk and saw the moon over a housed area of LA. The moon was full and it was orange. The houses seemed like villages, lit by candlelight too. I thought if there was a real version of a Halloween town this would be it. I was honored to take a clip because it was a moment scored by happily-eerie moonlight. The majesty of the pictures might just be the result of my latest i-phone. But I would like to think that I witness/captured a moment of LA beauty that was ephemeral in the loveliest way!

I originally came here for a sound bath class (which I couldn't end up finding ), but honestly, I'm so glad I got a little lost because it led me to this beautiful space. The views alone are worth the visit--perfect for catching a peaceful sunset over the city. This is now officially one of my go-to spots for a relaxing day. Whether you want to lay out a blanket for a cute picnic, bring a book and unwind, or gather a few friends to just chill and vibe, this park sets the tone. It's calm, scenic, and has such a refreshing energy. Bonus: you're surrounded by so many great restaurants nearby, so you can easily turn your visit into a full day experience. If you're looking for a low-key, aesthetic spot in LA that feels like a little escape without leaving the city--this is it.
