Extremely poor customer servic!!! My husband was there for over 30 minutes walking around, there were 2 employees working, none of them greeted us nor ask if we needed help. I even went up to front counter and saw one staff wasn't with anyone but she acted like I didn't exist. She never looked at me asking if I needed nor wanted help. I've been wanting to check out this store for a few weeks now. I purchased a home and have been remodeling. I went in with the hopes of purchasing a kitchen ceiling light and two standing lamps. The store had great designs but not great customer service. Walked in and wasn't greeted. Walked around the entire store and found a kitchen light I liked and decided to leave because there were at least 3 or 4 workers and NO ONE said a single word to us. Taking my money elsewhere. They must have plenty of money coming in already if they aren't even interested in doing their jobs. read more

Globe Lighting Vancouver is great! I would like to leave a glowing review for Globe lighting in Vancouver. We had a small project where our contractor was going to replace the old undercabinet light pucks in our kitchen with a new design. We decided that the longer LED lights would be good, and we went to Globe to see what they have. Alfred took care of us from the beginning and explained each of the brands that they had and what they did and which ones would probably be best with our needs. We brought our measurements in, and he was able to work out a specific list of all the pieces and parts that we would need, including boxes, cords and lights, each to fit out of the cabinet to make a continuous stream of lighting. Although they did not have all the pieces in the store, and Alfred was aware that our contractor was scheduled to come the next day because he would not have availability for a long time after that, Alfred drove to the warehouse and made sure we had all necessary parts. We came and paid and picked them up the next morning and our contractor had everything he needed. The project was a success. We had a few pieces that we didn't use, and Alfred told us he would gladly take them back and refund. We wanted to share our experience since Customer Service is such a rare thing these days great job Globe and Alfred. read more

I wasn't actually shopping for lighting but paid them a visit just to check out their selection and pricing for future reference and planning purposes. I was amazed at the huge selection and variety of styles, and price points, they have. They have lighting to fit any style from basic and utilitarian to ooh-la-la dazzle 'em! And all types of lights you can think of: floor lamps, desk lamps, chandeliers, wall scones, carriage/outdoor/patio lights...heck they even had some really pretty night lights! And I know there are all kinds of categories I'm leaving out...but they have them. The staff were all very nice as well and gave me my space to just peruse their store. In the future when I need some lighting I know Globe Lighting will be on my list to pay a visit. read more

Wanted to replace our globes on the lights above our kitchen island as they were to bright and clear, making the light some what blinding, also the mounting hole on top was an unusual size so it would have to be special ordered. A staff member suggested a different bulb, which we tried and it worked wonderfully! They could have sold us 2 expensive replacement globes but we left with a less expensive solution of different bulbs. I was impressed. Now my go to place for all of our lighting needs! read more

Globe is the lighting company that our construction company used and they were so helpful and patient in working with us. They stayed within our budget and guided us through the new construction process. This was in 2018 and I have gone back to get additional lighting needs since then. They know our project and are always solution orientated and have such wonderful customer service. Just today I had to replace a recessed led light and they once again took super good care of me. Special order for lighting. After the week waiting period for delivery. I came to the location to check on my order. Originally two people there stared at their computer screens (instead of acknowledging me). Finally one asks, "how can I help." I explained I was there to see if my purchase was ready. After a few minutes the gentlemen muttered under his breath..... They closed our account. And says to me "One moment" and walked into the back. Shorty after he returned. Now claiming the suppliers website was down. And I could leave and he would call me back within 45 minutes. 4 hours later I call and ask to speak to a manager. The manager now tells me that the supplier had "lost the ticket". And they were waiting for a call back from them. And she would call me back the following day. Following day @ 2pm. Still no call from them. I call again. The manager answers this time. Now putting the blame on the original sales woman. And says that the issue was resolved and the the original sales woman was suppose to call me. I explain my distaste at the utter incompetence. No apology, no sympathy, no care in the world from this woman. Just tells me my order should arrive "around Wednesday or so". Almost a week late. No apology, no overnight shipping for their lack of follow thru. Nothing. Then to find the exact same lighting on Amazon for $25 less with overnight shipping. I recommend you just go somewhere else. Because clearly. You are not appreciated here. I even watched an older woman come to pick up a bunch of lighting she had ordered. (While I was waiting) They piled it by the counter. Brought her around to the other side to pay. Never offering to help her as she struggled with the packages into the parking lot. Sick with my choice to give these people my business. To the owner..... Do not bother to respond to this post. Your choice in employees, and training. Have said enough. You should be ashamed. Update: I was notified by text. (A day after the delivery expectation date.) That my order would be ANOTHER WEEK. Since my order was not over $1000 it did not qualify for expedited shipping. Thus it would have to wait to go on their next shipment order. Hence the urgency from this company to make up for their mistake. Meaning a purchase with a 5 day delivery date turned into 3 weeks! No apologies. No effort to save a customer. No care in the world for customer service. I canceled the order. I will be ordering from Amazon. BUYERS BEWARE! read more

This is a rare five star place. In fact I don't recall that I could say this in a long time. The staff are professional, helpful. The prices are cheaper than home depot,etc. Or they are competitive with places like Tuesday morning. Next to les Schwab and Ace Hardware, this is a must stop. Need a distraction, need to add some personality to a room.. Try a new light fixture. They even have door knobs. There is so much to see I can't list it all. Plus I'm sure you will find stuff I missed. Sweet store, great find. read more

This store has a great selection of lighting options, however, their customer service is terrible. When we first went in it was some time before anybody asked if they could help us, even though there were three employees behind the desk not helping anyone. We picked out some options for lighting but after I got home I had more questions so I called back. The salesperson was at lunch so I left a message. I was told I would get a call back within the hour. Over four hours later, and still no call back, I called them again and was told he was on the phone but would call me right back. Three days later and still no return phone call. I called back yet again and spoke to another person and expressed my dissatisfaction with the original salesperson and was told that she could help me. My original question needed some investigating so, again, I was told I would receive a return call the following Monday (four days later). It is now Wednesday afternoon and I still have not heard back. We are taking our business elsewhere! If you expect good (or at least decent) customer service, I suggest you shop elsewhere! read more

Love this place! I have bought many lights for mutiple homes at the Vancouver globe store and I recently went in cause I'm remodeling, again. Walking in I noticed the showroom has been updated. I am so shocked at how they treated me. I ordered fans from them in October and was told as soon as they got my fans I would be notified. I waited patiently until March. Six months it took to get the fans and when I went to pick them up they increased the price on me from the price I was told I would pay when I ordered them. They have no integrity and choose to treat the customers that are willing to bring them business and wait 6 months instead of get the same products in a week or two from Amazon. At least Amazon gives you the product you expect for the price you are told. Never buy from a store that does not respect their customers!!!I wish I could give them negative stars... read more

I've been here a handful of times and the service is always terrible. My fiancé my mom and I walked in on a Thursday afternoon, there were 4 employees sitting behind the desk and no other customers in the store. Everyone turned to watch us walk in but didn't even say hello, we were not greeted or acknowledged in the 20 minutes we spent in the store. At a store like this it is pretty annoying to not get any help seeing as all our options are mounted to the wall or ceiling and we have no way of bringing the products to the register. The employees behind the counter were having conversations with each other but couldn't be bothered to give us any assistance despite our attempts to make eye contact. I don't know if the people here aren't very knowledgeable or they just don't like helping people. The store was also a mess. For the price I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning which is a shame seeing as I have a whole home renovation to complete. read more

I had a great experience at this store for two reasons: One, when I bought the wrong lighting and it didn't work, it was easy to return. The staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant. Second, I was looking for a European candlelight bulb for my French chandelier which is difficult to find. They didn't have them, but the clever manager suggested I look at these small inexpensive adapters. Brilliant solution so I never have to search for these European bulbs again. I just purchased $670 worth of light fixture. We attempted to install one in our bedroom & realized it was a vaulted ceiling and the new fixture wouldn't work there. I called and asked if I could exchange it for a different style. The male on the phone was very friendly and asked if I had original packing materials, to which I said yes. So he said bring it on in, and was even nice to check whether they had the fixture I was going to exchange it for in stock, which they did. When I arrived they were all busy with customers and a nice gal said I could just set it down and they'd be with me shortly. I was approached by who I later learned was the manager, Gaile Stuart, she firmly said "We can't exchange this, it's been installed." I was caught off-guard by her rough demeanor, so of course I was defensive. I said "We never installed it, we attempted to and found out it would not work, all I want to do is exchange it." After a very unprofessional exchange with the so-called manager, she basically said too bad. I was fuming. She was rude! It's not what you say, it's how you say it, and let me tell you, she needs a lesson in customer service. I proceeded to call the PDX store, which is where I bought it in the first place, and they couldn't be any nicer. The male on the phone said make sure the wires are clean and straight, come see me and I will exchange it for you. Now that's customer service!!! Yes the lights are great and well priced but the customer service here is terrible! They have trouble ordering the correct lamps and lightbulbs. Twice they have messed up on my order. Gale the store manager is terrible! Honestly she is an old crabby lady. I've been a customer of Globe Lighting for years, since I first became a home owner. I've often bought items as gifts from there for my parents as well. After this last experience I will never shop there again & strongly advise others against shopping there as well. The Manager, Gaile Stewart, just proceeded to yell at me, tell me not to make her mad and then hung up on me. I've NEVER been talked to, yelled at, by someone in sales like that...let alone someone who is supposed to be a Manager. Our experience was great! We were in the market for exterior light fixtures and we'd already been around town to Home Depot, Lowes, and Grover's Electric & Plumbing. Globe totally slipped our mind as an option until we Googled "lighting" near us. I have to admit, when we drove up & then walked in, with ALL of the options they had just at first glance, we thought "oh, this place will have what we want...but probably for 3 times as much as those other places!" How pleasantly surprised we were to find exactly what we were looking for, at a price comparable or even a few bucks cheaper than all the other places! Gaile, who we later found out is the store manager, helped us along the way. She was pleasant and knowledgeable about anything we had questions about. In fact, she even talked us into buying the cheaper of the 2 light fixtures we were looking at! Also, we just happened to see our foyer chandelier in their showroom too. Since moving and we took that fixture with us, we had somehow lost a tiny piece in the move. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask Gaile if she knew how to order or get ahold of one - she said she'd go look in the back room to locate some of their random pieces/caps to see if she had one for us. She did! She just gave it to us for no charge! Later we did a little research on how to find that piece online and order it...this itty bitty candlestick cap/cover was $10 online at other places! We were so pleased that Gaile just gave it to us. I would recommend Globe to anyone looking for lighting options - they had by FAR the best selection, the best pricing, and great customer service. read more

I wasn't sure what type of lighting I needed to help make my kitchen and family room area more cheerful. I wanted it bright and cheerful to offset the northwest gloomy winters, but not blinding to my eyes. The store manager Gail helped me understand the difference that good lighting can make to warm up the house. The options she showed me were great and she even knew based on what I told her about my house what would look good. A couple weeks ago I walked into Globe Lighting on 68th in Vancouver hoping to buy a part to fix a lamp. I thought I needed a metal place but the woman who worked there knew just what I needed....a plastic piece which she had on hand. She didn't charge me for the part. She was so nice! I have never been in the store. It is so nicely laid out with lamp prices from low to high. Beautiful store, large inventory, helpful people. Really nice shade selection. Camille greeted us upon arrival, and then after we browsed for a few minutes, spent quite a bit of time assisting us in selection & ordering. Globe has a great selection to view in the store, as well as a wide variety of manufacturers' catalogs to look through.
