Very impressed with the variety at this international market. Many times stores claim to be…read more"international" but only really supply items for one culture with the exception of two or three products. That's not so with this International Market in State College! They had a plethora of Mediterranean, South American, Asian, and European products. Another great thing is it is somewhat organized by region, so you don't find random things next to each other. The store is located in an old house so you go from room to room while shopping. It can feel a little bit cramped but I was surprised by the amount of products they sell. There are lots of refrigerator and freezer goods too. The prices seem high for American groceries but as far as I can tell they are typical for an international market. I'd suggest reading other reviews and checking expiration dates. I'm new in town and have only been once but I understand they may not have high turnover for some products that may end up past their expiration. Just use your brain. Not sure if they take cards- I always assume there's a card minimum or that they don't take card so keep cash on hand. The only disappointing thing was their fresh produce. It was the size of a cocktail table and had about 6 items total. I'm sure there are other shops in town with better produce selection but as far as cultural variety, I'd say this International Market takes the cake.

This is a great little neighborhood international grocery that is truly international: they…read moreseemingly have something from every major food culture here. It is one of the few places you can find several varieties of dates, and they are in tune with religious holidays and will often have foods especially for those. It is a pretty small space so it can be tough to find what you are looking for, but the workers are all very nice and willing to help!

I think I've been in here once before when I first moved to town but my most recent visit was to…read moreget some ingredients so I could make my own kimchi! The store isn't very big but they have a lot of stuff. I found what I thought I needed and asked the lady working if I could make kimchi with it and she said no, then walked me around to get the items I DID need and I really appreciated it! My kimchi turned out tasty, but who knows how authentic it actually is haha. One cool thing is they serve fresh kimbap on thursdays (I think), and I hear it's usually very limited quantities but I've had it before and can vouch that it's delicious! They sell their own made in-house kimchi too which looked good. They have Korean specific ingredients but also some other things that are more generally used in Asian cuisine. They're a little pricy but worth it if you need something quick! They still recommend masking (something I think it's maybe time for us to move on from...) but they don't require it, just know if you go in unmasked you may get some unpleasant looks. It is what it is.

The owners are lovely. Wonderful selection across the board. Lots of ramens to choose from,…read moredelicious kimchi in several types, frozen foods, a few fresh veggies, a few non-food items, I hope they expand that more! Fresh foods made, I think it's on Thursdays. Their fish cakes in the cooler are amazing! By the way Korean Ramen is my absolute favorite because it has the best texture :-)
