That's not so with this International Market in State College! They had a plethora of Mediterranean, South American, Asian, and European products. Another great thing is it is somewhat organized by region, so you don't find random things next to each other. The store is located in an old house so you go from room to room while shopping. It can feel a little bit cramped but I was surprised by the amount of products they sell. There are lots of refrigerator and freezer goods too. The prices seem high for American groceries but as far as I can tell they are typical for an international market. I'd suggest reading other reviews and checking expiration dates. I'm new in town and have only been once but I understand they may not have high turnover for some products that may end up past their expiration. Just use your brain. Not sure if they take cards- I always assume there's a card minimum or that they don't take card so keep cash on hand. The only disappointing thing was their fresh produce. It was the size of a cocktail table and had about 6 items total. I'm sure there are other shops in town with better produce selection but as far as cultural variety, I'd say this International Market takes the cake.

It has a lot of similar things to J&C down the road, but I honestly prefer this location. The space is a bit smaller and they don't play music so it's a bit less overwhelming. There's lots of good quality items to choose from! I usually check here first for things like kimchi or bok choy because I know they'll have a good selection. The employees are nice as well! They're quite kind with everyone and it seems like they're accommodating to those with cultural differences. An employee helped a woman pick out items for a hot pot when she asked, and I was able to ask for clarification on an item that I couldn't read the label of. Overall a great location, definitely recommend!

Dear Mehmet Kurt, I…read moream a frequent shopper at your store on Hamilton Ave and really value the Turkish and Mediterranean specialties you bring to State College. I am writing to suggest that Global Foods consider launching a dedicated website to showcase your unique inventory. State College has a large international community that often searches online for specific items such as halal meats, Turkish baklava, or imported cheeses before shopping. A website would make it much easier for us to: View your current stock of fresh specialty imports. Confirm store hours for the week. Help students and new residents find the only store of this kind in the area. For building the site, I recommend using platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce. Both are world-class for managing grocery inventory and are highly respected for their security and ease of use. (I specifically urge staying away from Wix due to the fact that it is Israeli). Your store provides a wonderful service to the community, and I believe a digital storefront would help even more people discover the great products you offer. I put four out of five stars because you guys don't have as many things as I would hope for an international market, but then again, it isn't a large one, so I understand inventory prioritization. Best regards, A loyal customer.

I got their frozen wontons today I can't wait to try them. They came in a little clear box like you get at a bakery, so I'm assuming they make them there? They had a bunch of things like that now. They have a great fridge section with fresh vegetables, Asian chives, I wish they had fresh Parilla leaves. I can't find those anywhere. It's one of the only places in town you can find Japanese sweet potatoes which are darker red and just so enjoyable by themselves. This is by far my favorite Asian market around. But, they are trumped by the…read morestore and the store's workers' and customers' lack concern for each other, their community, and shoppers, and their respect for government or science. There was marginal mask wearing by the employees, about 50%, and about 25% by the customers. Both groups are thus inconsiderate, to themselves and to their customers, and to the related area. Mask wearing is a super easy way to reduce the spread and help us get back to work and play. It saddens me that in this somewhat christian area, known for its churches (many Mennonites work there, and Mennonites and Amish shop there, you can recognize them by their clothing and lack of mask), that they are not being kind, Christian, nor sensible. What would Jesus do? He would wear a bleeding mask. I did speak with the manager who noted that workers had been reprimanded. But within sight of us were two workers not wearing their mask close to correctly! One if left to ask, do they believe in food hygiene even, then? do they believe in food safety? If they won't follow some of the most necessary and visible public safety rules, what do they do when we are not looking? Do they "believe" in cold chain? Do they believe in the pathogen theory of disease? I guess I'll go back post pandemic, but I did lose a little faith in humanity in that the manager (the manager!) felt powerless to enforce public safety on her own employees. I cut my visit short, reported them to the PA Department of Health, and wrote this review. I will also have to be less sympathetic to groups of folks that do not support public health. I left sadly disappointed.
