After all, no one REALLY enjoys a dental experience absent those who view pain as pleasure. I typically have my teeth cleaned every 3-4 months so I frequent this place quite a bit. I have had several different hygienists but they are all very nice and they seem to really enjoy their work and care about you as a patient. Their great service is also evidenced by the challenge with scheduling an appointment. When I attempted to schedule my very first appointment, there was a six month wait. But after going, I can see why. You are seen on time and typically a cleaning takes less than an hour. Their efficiency has allowed me to make appointments during my lunch hour. I highly recommend Dr. Mortell and think you should see for yourself.

My family and I used to go to this dentist on a regular basis for a couple of years. The girls at…read morethe front desk are very unfriendly. The atmosphere is very cold. They used to have a very good hygienist named Patty, she quit because she was treated unfairly by the receptionists. Patty told me that while they are up at the front desk telling jokes she is trying to get her work done clean up and greet her patients and they offer no help to her at all. After she left my family and I decided to go elsewhere. I found out that I had a crown in my mouth with a cavity underneath it, it had been there for years. I had complained about that tooth many times to Dr. Mortell and he said there was nothing wrong with it. The hours of this dental office are few and far in-between they do not accommodate the working public at all. When you try to make an appointment weather it be a 6 month or a one-year appointment for a cleaning, you cannot get one. They are booked way in advance because of their limited hours in the office. If you need a Saturday appointment you can forget it !

I didnt scream -much... more of a moan/ yelp ((no pun intended)) but the other lady was Screaming in pain as i was walking out.. the office is extremely small, so i get why the doors where open... but as i was leaving a mom and her daughter where getting there... im 22 and was piss scared.. imagine a little 11 yr old girl? hearing a grown ass woman crying/ screaming isnt at all encouraging....

I would recommend this professional office to anyone in the Chicago area. I went into this office…read morewith very little knowledge about the Patels-- the father and son team--only as so far as the research I did on their work. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and their very-apparent interest in helping their patients make their own best decisions. After looking at my tooth which appeared to be crumbling apart from decay on the x-ray, Atul Patel said that he was fairly confident that I would need a root canal. He, maybe noticing my nervousness, which I had because it was the first time I had any type of dental problem, told me that he would be glad to have Dilip Patel (his son) look at the x-ray and the tooth for my peace of mind. I was blown away by his taking this extra step that he was not obligated to take. Everyone know: root canals are very expensive. I am from out of town so I do not have dental insurance that covers dental procedures in Chicago. But the Patels gave me a very reasonable rate that did not make me feel bad about paying out of pocket. In short, the two make a fantastic team: they are experts (of everything from basic dental hygiene to surgery), extremely accommodating, flexible, transparent, and talented. Luckily, when Dilip Patel opened my tooth to see the damage inside, the damage was not so close to the nerves so I only needed a filling, which he gave me, quickly and painlessly. I have seen many dentists before in my life but these two are by far the best I have ever experienced.

I decided to try out this dentist because it's very close to my house then regretted it and never returned back. I'm leaving this review after going back to my previous dentist so that I could compare the two and their opinions. The young dental hygienist I had scraped my teeth the worst I've ever had them scraped. She also kept asking me questions and attempting to talk to me while tools were in my mouth, which is really uncomfortable. Then she made negative comments I've never heard before about the condition of my teeth and gums that made me feel insecure. I was then told I had four cavities and they made it seem like a big deal. They claimed their camera was broken and also did not show me the X-rays, making me feel distrustful. The screen was located behind my head and they didn't offer to show me. They pressured me to come in as soon as possible to get them filled so they wouldn't get worse (I never went back and they didn't get worse). A little over a year later, I went back to my previous dentist and he told me I only had two very small cavities and recommended filling them, but did not pressure me into filling them (because of how small they are).
