Really great local, family friendly place to pickup inexpensive treats. Definitely a must visit for downtown Glenview. Not easy to park right in front of it, but just park by the library or metra. Service is always fast and friendly. Always enjoy picking up a small soft serve cone and taking the opportunity to enjoy it outside. There is definitely a reason why this place always has lines when the weather is good!

Classic looking ice cream stand conveniently located by the Glenview Metra station in downtown. Glenview Dairy Bar has a lot of the cold favorites. It's pretty much a simple looking structure with a window to go up to and order. Has quite a few flavors to choose. They also have non dairy sorbets. A thing to know is this is one of those seasonal places for ice cream. It closes for winter like most. There's only some outdoor seating. Much too small for anything else. They still manage to have a ton of flavors though. It's about $3 for a medium cup. There's all the usual ones plus a few not as much. Get some that are non dairy. They had a few sorbets including lemon and orange. Good place to cool off and get a sweet treat with it. It's open beginning in spring. This is a convenient stop close to public transportation.

I got the Hot Fudge Sundae in a Cubs hat, and it was creamy with plenty of thick caramel to add layers to the sweet treat.

Fabulous spot for ice cream. Lots of menu options, fast friendly service. Great prices. The ice cream itself is good quality. There's parking in a small parking lot, there's benches outside, it's cash only. You can also park in the street, it's a good spot in the burbs.

I love a good walk up ice cream spot so when I drove past this one, I decided to try it out. We ordered their vanilla shake, hot fudge sundae, soft serve w/ cookie topping and a chocolate dipped cone. Sadly, the soft serve was flavorless and the toppings/ dips didn't help much. It is a very cute place with benches around to enjoy your treats. It just wouldn't be my preference based on the taste.

    The exterior. Limited parking situation.

I have worked in the Northshore for years but this was my first time at the Dairy Bar. This is not your culinary selection of 13 unique curated flavors. The best part is that it is not trying to be. It is your good old fashioned ice cream stand, cash only and limited parking. Simple cones, shakes and ice cream treats. The most unique spin is the hard shell flavors and swirl. So many different delicious combinations. We did the vanilla cone with toasted coconut shell. Omg the toasted coconut was so legit. I'm glad we got a kid size because I can see myself overindulging in ice cream here. Best part, a kid size cone with shell... $1.99! Affordable solid ice cream treats. I definitely recommend.

Best soft serve around! The vanilla actually has so much flavor unlike other places where it just tasted like milk. This is the only soft serve I ever want to have in the Chicagoland area! Planning my next visit back already :)

How have I not reviewed this business yet. This is the place to come for your local summer cold treats. The only place to get a dreamsicle swirl. They have a variety of ice cream frozen delights that can satisfy any craving. Easy to drive up to and get out of your car, walk up to the window and order your treats.

Slow service, cash only, small portions, pricey for what you get. DQ is a better option.

I got to try the signature raspberry chocolate chip, cherry chocolate chip & coconut. Coconut was my least favorite & the raspberry chocolate chip & cherry chocolate chip were incredible. I got a double scoop in a waffle cone & it's highly substantial, making up like half meal so go a bit hungry, not after a full dinner. The double scoop is something like $1.50 more vs a single scoop ($6) & a waffle cone is only $1 add on. Service was good but lines are behind (5-10 min wait) so don't try too many flavors & keep others waiting. Ambiance is a cute little shop & lots of people order it to go & walk around the cute downtown Northbrook instead of dinning in. Protip: They offer self serve free water at the end of checkout, so you canwash down your palette instead of ordering a drink & loading up on more calories. Also, there is an app offering an initial free ice cream, single scoop & you can do an upgrade for the price difference. Great addition to the area! I want yo try the cakes next time.

Thumbs up, and I would say a hidden gem of a place, or it's equally possible that I've just been under a rock.

The place has options of seating - inside and outside, ranging from metal chairs to comfortable upholstered benches. We got the tom kha to begin with, which my husband, who's not vegetarian, devoured. It was truly delicious! We then got the Kung Pao with mushrooms and it was incredible - the flavors, the choice of vegetables, the sauce - all of it! We also got a chow mein but with rice noodles - this was the one dish that could take some improvement. Granted, the original recipe calls for wheat noodles, and that might be really good, though our rice noodles version of it was came out soggy. Our server had clearly had a long day - she was tired and forgetful (didn't bring us rice and we had a hard time flagging her down to request it). She also just brought us the check after dinner, without asking if we wanted any dessert. All in all, highly recommend this place for delicious plant-based food.
