My husband and I were looking for frozen yogurt, and we came across La Michoacana. When we walked in, we were greeted by bright, warm colors. There were no menus available. There were three screens above the service area that were blank, so I'm guessing this is where the menus normally are. After checking out the flavors, I got two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. I got the chocolate chip and the mint chocolate chip ice cream flavors. These were the biggest ice cream scoops I have ever seen. They easily gave me six regular scoops of ice cream. The flavors were very rich and sweet, exactly what I was looking for. You get a value for your money. The parking lot is a pain to try and navigate. There is not enough parking for all of the businesses. When we left, we were blocked in by someone double parking to use the convenience store. The food and service are pretty good, and La Michocana comes highly recommended.

Actually, this is a small chain store through running throughout Illinois. I always enjoy their popsicles and specialty dessert. Try out the corn with the mayonnaise and spice since that is fantastic tasting. Enjoy some chips with cheese as well. It's worth your time to pay this place a visit and go with a friend. The wait to be served is worth it so patiently wait your turn since this is your downside. Go on a weekday so you will be served quickly.

I always visit this store. The food never disappoints. It's always clean. The customer service is always nice. I have never had a complaint about this place.

We are so glad we stopped by on our way back from dinner. We stopped in at 8:30pm and there were about 5 customers ahead of us. With a couple workers and most orders made fresh, you can expect to wait in line as we did for about 20 minutes. Hubby got the yogurt ($3.99) mixed with fresh fruit pieces and sprinkled with a mixture of granola, raisins and coconut flakes. This is so good, I would definitely get it again. Next time, I will ask for more yogurt as I felt the ratio of yogurt to fruit favored the fruit. My youngest got a couple scoops of mango ice cream ($1.99). That has to be the most delicious, freshest mango ice cream I've ever had. My oldest got bubble gum flavored paleta de agua ($1.89). I had the mango paleta de agua with the tamarind stick ($1.89). The worker we talked to said they make all their ice creams and yogurt in house.

The kiwi-strawberry popsicles are amazing. This is THE place to stop on a hot day. Cheerful and delicious. Yay!!

Listen how many standard ice cream places use real white sugar? NONE! So this ice cream tastes great and good portions.

If you're parked along the drive-thru line, it can be hard to get out of the spot with all the cars lined up behind you. Most of the time people are decent letting me back out of my spot, but there's always a few cars who just won't leave an opening. Service is always super fast, no matter how many people are in line or waiting. There's a few benches so seating so you eat there. It's always brightly lit too. I've been there with a long drive thru line where cars are backed up on Rand Rd., but don't let that deter you from going- the car line moves super fast! Just pull up the menu while you wait so you know what you want when an employee walks up to your car to take your order. Speaking of the employees taking your order - they are all super friendly, they have a smile no matter how hot or cold it is outside, and they're so patient waiting for everyone to order. I think they must have a kindness, happy, friendly detector because this Andy's has all the nicest people working here. Even the people at the window and walk up! You see them working it together in harmony inside as they make each order. It is an impressive team, no matter what time of the day we go and how busy it gets! They work like really like their job AND each other (I'm kinda jealous!) The frozen custard is so smooth and creamy. It's perfectly flavored, we get the vanilla and have tried the chocolate which is decently chocolatey! They don't skimp on the toppings either. If anything, hubs says there's sometimes not enough ice cream to balance the amount of toppings. Service is excellent. Frozen custard is excellent. Wait time is great. Definitely a must go for dessert!

The other night Wife and I were peckish and in the mood for burger, and the Choo-Choo here was right in front of us! Easy Parking and all, and the booths looked open. This is a historic place, been there for 73 years! And it looks like it-not a pejorative statement at all. It's been very well preserved. Railroads are the theme, here~everywhere you look. Including the working model train circling the counter that actually delivers your food to where you are. Kitschy, unique and most of all...FUN! About the food, Burgers are the focus. Great Smashed never-frozen Beef. Whoever is in the kitchen has the knack to get that crunchy corona around the edge-a hallmark of a perfect smasher, while keeping the rest of the patty nice and juicy. Now I know how this place has survived 73 years. You can get a single or double. They come with lettuce and tomato and pickle on request. Also crinkle-cut fries. You have to ask for onions, which they provide on the side in a small cup. If you want mayo, they'll provide small packets for you to apply on your own. There is a hot dog on the menu, a nice jumbo, but it's nothing special-stick with the burgers. Hand-dipped Ice Cream is also featured with Shakes as well. We saw the counter gals prepping the shake station and they look serious about it. If you have kids, there are a few little antique-but-still-working "Rides". I believe you have to ask for tokens from the counter to use them. Don't be shocked by the bill. This ain't exactly a bargain feed. But you certainly get what you pay for. It's an honest trip back to another time, kinda like Powers Hamburgers in Fort Wayne. And every once in a while the counter staff pulls a rope and a train whistle sounds! An altogether treat-Truly worth 5 stars...

Thumbs up, and I would say a hidden gem of a place, or it's equally possible that I've just been under a rock.
