I had the strawberry ice cream and it was a little more tart compared to other ice cream shops I've been to. I actually really liked it because I was able to taste more of the strawberries. The tartness may be due to the lower sugar content, but it just tasted "healthier" to me! Everyone there was so friendly and greeted us with a smile. The prices were reasonable and their single scoop was very generous! I also loved how kid-friendly the shop was. They had drawings and coloring pages that kids had made displayed all over the walls. They also had plenty of toys and coloring books to keep the little ones entertained. The store was clean and brightly lit with cute ice cream photos decorating the space. I loved the atmosphere and how I felt while I was there. Definitely will be coming back!

There are two entrances, and you order from the kiosk. You can order from their menu, or build your own flavor. It goes like this, they add your flavor and mixins plus cream to a super cold plate. They mash it up with what looks like paint scrapers, then spread this mixture paper thin. Then they scrape it, making thin rolls of ice cream. The workers are super meticulous-- this is hard work. They're going to have amazing biceps at the end of this summer! Be patient -- this process is not quick -- everything is made to order; you see exactly what goes into your flavor and it's mesmerizing to watch. I ordered Coffee Lovers flavor -- and I watched them pour coffee, cream and 1 graham cracker and make that into coffee ice cream. Now, they added whipped cream and caramel sauce too, so there's that. My friend ordered Key Lime, and their order was juice from a lime wedge, cream, and one graham cracker. It was also topped with a toasted marshmallow -- so cute! The resulting flavors are not very rich -- kind of like a flavored ice milk -- but there are times when that's what you want. They also offer smoothies, lattes and bubble tea (looked amazing). What's cooler than being cool? Ice cold!

I've been there with a long drive thru line where cars are backed up on Rand Rd., but don't let that deter you from going- the car line moves super fast! Just pull up the menu while you wait so you know what you want when an employee walks up to your car to take your order. Speaking of the employees taking your order - they are all super friendly, they have a smile no matter how hot or cold it is outside, and they're so patient waiting for everyone to order. I think they must have a kindness, happy, friendly detector because this Andy's has all the nicest people working here. Even the people at the window and walk up! You see them working it together in harmony inside as they make each order. It is an impressive team, no matter what time of the day we go and how busy it gets! They work like really like their job AND each other (I'm kinda jealous!) The frozen custard is so smooth and creamy. It's perfectly flavored, we get the vanilla and have tried the chocolate which is decently chocolatey! They don't skimp on the toppings either. If anything, hubs says there's sometimes not enough ice cream to balance the amount of toppings. Service is excellent. Frozen custard is excellent. Wait time is great. The screens above the counter showcase everything, while you can see some of the flavors in the case. We were helped by who we assumed to be the owner, who was friendly and also keeping things moving as groups (understandably) hemmed and hawed over their flavor choices. While we weren't here for cookies this time, they piqued our interest and we'll explore that more on our next visit.
