Additional portion of hot bar, with chicken, to salmon, and homemade, ethnic side dishes.

My favorite grocery store and fast, healthy, wholesome lunch/dinner spot in the OHare, Desplaines and Rosemont area... especially when I am not sure what I want. You walk in the store to a well stocked, high variety, produce department, bakery, and homemade hot food bar. Great salad bar/choices also. Yes a small sushi kiosk. Plenty of prepared hot and cold foods with European feel, flavors. They have a few tables so you can eat there, or take to your car or home. I just finished a Ukrainian Borscht, and a lentil soup. My wife loves their guacamole and salsa. Friendly employees seem to always be busy, hard to imagine how they prepare all these prepared dishes. Great deli. Love their fresh rye bread with simple ingredients. It is hard to pass up the pastored, cakes of various flavors, sizes and types. A great place to pick something up if you are heading to a oarty. They jam a lot of regular grocery products with extra choices for particular countries or regions.

Still a fantastic neighborhood spot! Prices are reasonable and people are kind. Produce is always fresh and on point!

Baked goods here are decent but the location is pretty run-of-the-mill and has a funky smell. It's always packed, so it has a following, but there are better grocery stores elsewhere.

This place has a convenient location and friendly people, but thats all it's got going on for it. It has some selection but it's often not checked for freshness. Compared to other grocery stores in the area, their prices are higher as well on average. For example: $7 for large orange juice whereas Marianos freshly squeezed same size oj goes for $5. The last trip to this Shop n Save was really disturbing. Their bakery goods, which are usually decent, had cheesecakes for sale. These had their packaging cover the visibility of this, but upon closer inspection and opening the package you can see it covered in mold. This store has been selling out freshness items for a while now, so if you must shop here be cautious or stick to non perishables.

Baklava--Expiration date: 10-22-16!!! Purchased March 2018. Are you kidding me?!?!? Look at the freezers and the tiny lamb/ chicken/ beef dumplings oozing liquid.

Good price for honey crisp, my favorite apple

The best grocery store in Des Plaines, it's always been my favorite! The managers and workers are so nice and welcoming.

In need of household goods, we made the trek and figured there was at least a few options available. We were wrong, this place is not a typical grocery store. It's a food emporium, with tons of aisles and plenty of choices. Was surprised they didn't have any manned stations (meat, deli, and fish usually have someone there with fresh products). This place just has more aisles. And while we might have one or two cases of a specific type of item, you got full aisles. And not just one aisle, but multiple. And many different brands and types. It's impressive to say the least. The discover only for card payments was a little weird. But not an issue since they take cash. Price was fairly reasonable as well. All-in-all, a fun trek for a mundane task. If you need to find a product, check woodsman's. They probably got it

I know my daughter likes to visit there with friends for a bite of sushi, a cold drink from the cooler, or even a slice of tiramisu. They got a star back from my mental 3 star review because they brought their happy hour menu back! From 4p-7p Monday through Thursday, they run specials like $3 tacos (Tuesdays) or $8 burritos (Thursdays). They had some summer happy hour menu and it just did not appeal to me so I am glad they brought the original one back, albeit with slightly higher prices than before. I was able to pick up my daughter from drum lessons then pick up steak tacos to eat before we cut into our Rosca de Reyes. Their bakery is also a good stop before a gathering, although it can be hard to get an employee's attention in that department. I have gotten cannolis, brownies, cookies, etc. and everything has been eaten with positive reviews. I get whatever is on sale so it has "forced" me to try different items! Also, the focaccia bread is welcome into the rotation of dinner sides. Overall, I find the staff to be friendly enough and quick to jump to make sure the checkout line keeps moving. I am glad this store is there for when we need them!

They have a Bar Angelo where you can buy beer and cocktails, though it should be noted that it's not a full bar.  They also serve burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and an assortment of appetizers.  There's a nice shaded patio right outside the cafe as well as some indoor seating.  I don't know if this bar/cafe setup is a common feature or not of Angelo Caputo's Fresh Markets, but I could see it working well especially for the very close-by apartment dwellers.  Anyway, a thumbs-up impression from our first visit.
