Such a beautiful winery. They serve you several different kind of cheeses at the wine tasting. I had never been to up state New York. My friend showed me around many different places and this winery was one of the fantastic places he took me during the trip. The selections of wine were great, especially ones I could not taste in California. They ship to only certain States and Cali was not one of them. We then wanted to have breakfast there but it was too late. We missed the breakfast hours and we were leaving with a disappointed feeling, but a waitress stopped us and asked the chef if he still could prepare breakfast for us. She got back to us with a very pleasant answer and took us to the huge patio. The view was spectacular and breakfast was delicious. The fruits were very fresh and coffee was excellent. Service was great too. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Although we were only customer there, she never rushed us and let us enjoy our breakfast. This winery was definitely one of the highlights of the whole trip. I truly appreciate the view, breakfast, interactions with people here, wine and cheeses, and everything. read more

First of all, fantastic view and setting!! If you are passing by Seneca wine trail, this winery will catch your attention for sure... You will love very their wine selection if you like sweet wines. They specialize on the fruity flavors. Tasting was $4 for 6 kinds and you will get complimentary cheeses. All the cheeses they offered were mind blowing. Special mention goes to strawberry chardonnay and wasabi horseradish. Service was excellent. We also went to the Veraison restaurant for lunch. Menu was simple for lunch but good stuff. We ordered a fig dessert which turned out to be the show stealer... read more

The area is beautiful. Enjoyed the scenery from the moment I walked in. I did the dry flight and loved multiple of the bottles. Their hard Apple cider was one of my all time favorites. I had more questions about the wine so a guy with decades of experience came over and talked to me about each wine and why they were special. He helped me choose which bottle was the best for what I wanted. Very good experience, highly recommend to everyone. read more

*Pasta & Wine Weekend 2015 Review* Stellar, Stellar, Stellar! I stopped at Glenora twice during the trail event because I couldn't get enough of that newly released Black Diamond Express and the Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese w/Riesling . Paired with your choice of a red or white wine. The mac & cheese was perfect. Made with sharp cheddar, the cheesy taste was not lost combined with the squash. I LOVE the texture that the butternut give this type of dish, and I have not been so lucky with the balance when I make it. From now on I will be following this delectable recipe! Best sauce ever... We opted for red wine to pair with the food, because I am not a chardonnay lover. Ugh, I imagine that's what skunk wee tastes like. After friendly banter with the servers we moved to the bar for an additional 5 tastings. Again, I can't get enough of the Black Diamond Express. Red Wine and Red Wine Blend lovers rejoice. It still contains 1 mystery grape...because it is a hybrid that is yet to be named. Overall my love for Glenora has been rekindled. Well worth the visit and tastings! Now I will just have to plan a stay at the lake so that I can plan a delishiz dinner with Chef Orlando...errrr, byyy Chef Orlando. read more

They did not make us feel welcome here. The wine was fine. The tasting room was dated, but had a very nice view. The real letdown was how one of the bartenders made us move seats after we sat where the manager told us to sit and then rudely shoo'ed away our children when they sat next to us at the new assigned seating location. It just has an old fuddy duddy vibe here. We did let ownership know how we were treated while we were there and they were very defensive and blamed it on it being a "hectic" work environment. LOL. They even said my wife already complained about the same bartender but she actually didn't speak to anyone, so that tells me that someone else had a similar experience. It was a Monday and half empty. I wish where I worked was this "hectic." We read another review on TripAdvisor where someone said they were not family friendly but we were hoping it was a one off experience. Apparently not. We won't be back. read more

We stopped at this winery on a whim, because we drove past on our way to Magnus Ridge and could not resist the view. The view of Seneca from the winery is outstanding. You are high up and close enough for brilliant views! The wine itself was a little lack luster. They weren't swill, but I found the dry reds to be pretty boring. The server wasn't too savvy on the wines either. He poured fine, but just seemed like a helping hand rather than someone who is very interested in wines. It is worth stopping in for the view, but I don't believe this would be a destination stop read more

Can't say anything about the wines, all I can comment on is the service. Had a party of 4, 3 who wanted to try a tasting and a non drinking designated driver. Was very rudely told BY LAW the driver would have to pay the $10 tasting fee. Is that a NY law? If so, very selectively enforced. Pass. Will not be back and will not put it on our recommend list to others. read more

I love this place some of the best sweet wines apple is awesome. I almost skipped this winery because when I first drove by it it seemed really busy and since I'm a solo traveler, I want to go somewhere where I can be in and out, get a table, and not feel overwhelmed by the big parties sitting next to me. I also want some conversation with the workers to occupy me. But I decided to come right at opening at 10 before it got too busy to give it a chance because they are supposed to have some of the best whites in the area according to reviews online and it was close to a few other vineyards I was targeting. This actually was my favorite winery out of the 4 I went to that day if we're only considering the taste of the wine. I purchased 2 bottles of the chardonnay brut. I really liked the apple taste and how there wasn't an acidic after taste, very hard for wineries to master I guess. There were a few other whites that I really loved too that had a great taste without the acid but that one of my favorites. They also, although reluctantly at first, tailored to my food allergies of red wines and substituted two which I was very appreciative of. In the future, allergies are a real thing. When people say they have nut allergies that is taken very seriously. But for some reason when I say I have a food allergy against the histamines and tannins in red wine, it's not taken very seriously. Not just here but many vineyards I go to. Perhaps because it's not very common. It shouldn't matter a food allergy is a food allergy. My sight goes blurry and I can't function the rest of the day. I shouldn't have even needed to ask for a substitute. It was a bit of a hassle but again very appreciative! Service at the counter was very professional, friendly, and what I'd expect at a winery. The other places I went to were more outdoorsy and not as professional. I liked seeing both ends of the spectrum. I agree with others that you should offer bigger cheese plates with crackers for pay. The free version was good but there weren't enough cubes per glass. I am not being cheap here but the wine tasting is about pairing with a food and cleaning your palette in between glasses so that's why I am criticizing there not being enough cubes. All the vineyards I went to actually did poorly on food which I'm shocked. Wine usually pairs so well with fancy meats and cheeses. Perhaps I just hit them wrong. I think however you should build a deck to allow people to sit outside or something. There's a spectacular view and you can't really enjoy it at the counter. Would be nice to sit or go out to at least take a photo. read more

Beautiful view. Do a tasting hut skip the restaurant :... bordering on terrible. We have tried very hard to continue to patronize local establishments during COVid but some places it is not worth it. A lot of variety on the menu but mostly sub par and definitely not fresh ingredients and not inexpensive read more

Very nice winery. The wines we tasted were great and I think all 7 of us bought at least 1 bottle plus cheese. The downside was that the sampling flights were extremely limited...only 2 selections and they had so much more wine that what was listed. Our "pourer" was NOT knowledgeable at all...another downside. But, he did say he was a "Tip Chaser" & anything we wanted to sample, he would get it for us. I would definitely go back, but not for a tasting...only to purchase what I knew I liked from this visit. read more

I'm going to be honest - I didn't have the best experience here in comparison to other wineries. Glenora has picturesque views and it is a very lovely space with an inn and restaurant, but I really just wouldn't put it on the top of my list to visit in the future. Out of all the wineries we went to during my trip, I think this was the most impersonal. It's not super busy (it's still early in the season), but it just felt like the staff were cordial, but just not personable. The wines weren't really anything special in flavor, except for the port, which I did enjoy - but I mean, they do have pouch wines (interesting) and fruitful options that are very sweet..but otherwise, the atmosphere really made it....just..not a favorite for me at all, and it's very unfortunate, because it's such a great space. I looked online to see if there were tours available and we were really interested in taking one - however, it seemed the staff wasn't really knowledgeable about whether tours were available or whether they were offered at all. It took several attempts with different staff to find out more information, and at that point, we had lost the motivation to attend. All in all, it's still a nice stop to get some great views, but I feel like there are better wineries out there! read more

Run down and commercialized. Also, gnats flying around everywhere. Very gross. $5 for a tasting of 6 different wines. They do offer cheese samples, which luckily are covered so the damn gnats don't get their grubby legs on them. read more

On our way back from Niagara to Manhattan, it's our ritual to cover the Watkins Glen State Park as a part of our Niagara trips with visiting friends and family. 12 mins away from the the park is this gorgeous wine cellar in the Finger Lakes area, so this is now a part of the itinerary. I'm not a connoisseur of wines, so I won't comment on the nitty-gritties of the wines they offer, but I can tell you what we love about the experience. - Super affordable wine tasting. About $5 per person for 6 wines each. - The sommelier does not rush you during the session, gives you ample time to sip and savor the taste and let it linger around a bit. You can let him/her know what appeals to your taste buds and the sommelier gives you useful suggestions. - Offers you cheese after every wine to wear off the previous taste. Talks a bit about them too. - Variety. The tasting menu covers reds, whites, rieslings, fruity wines, port wine and many more. The fruity dessert wines are my personal favorite. You get to pick 6 from a long list of options. We ended up buying the blueberry breeze and the Riesling. You also get to try out ice wine for another extra dollar. - Gorgeous views of Seneca Lake - the largest of the Finger Lakes. Also why it's a popular wedding venue. Check out the pics! - Cellar tours in Spring and Summer months - Along the NY-14S, so no detours to get here. Just 12 mins from the park. - A restaurant and a BNB if you need to halt. Overall, a great weekend getaway from Manhattan! read more

*would give 0 stars if I could* The Walmart of wineries. If you are in the finger lakes for an authentic wine experience, stay far away. My troupe and I were eager to get sippin when we saw the line out the door. However, we quickly realized that this was a big big mistake. After waiting in a line not unlike Disney's Small Word ride (conveniently located in the gift shop), we were corralled through like cattle, paid at the beginning and instructed to "find a spot at the far end of the bar". Everything felt very commercialized and rushed -- basically, a conveyer belt of tackiness. Instead of the intimate wine tastings we had at other wineries, we had a group tasting with other customers. Our wine pourer provided us with a folded sheet of paper to indicate whether we wanted a taste of dry or sweet wine for each pour. She gave a broad overview of each wine, seemingly going through the motions instead of providing a personal learning experience that we were able to enjoy at other wineries. Didn't even rinse glasses before switching from red to white. The wine was mediocre at best, with cheap looking labels that really brought down the quality of the brand. Quite literally the only redeeming quality of this place was the microscopic block of cheese to try between tastings, but even this was served with no explanation on pairings or flavor profile. Wasn't even a real bar- basically multiple bar carts shaped into a U- and their sole function was to roll away once you leaned on them. Do yourself a favor and spend your time at a less commercialized winery that puts effort and care into every visitor's experience instead of this absolute shit show. The clientele included trashy bachelorette parties, and middle aged women who only are accustomed to drinking Seagram Escapes. Also counted three MAGA hats. I felt like the goal of Glenora was to guzzle mindlessly rather than learning about the wine itself. Makes sense since the wine sucked. We couldn't escape this place quickly enough. The icing on the cake was being boxed in by the multiple tour buses with said clientele fleeing towards the entrance. read more

Wine tasting was free since we stayed at the Glenora inn but normally is $5 for six samples, which is a deal! You can choose from a Dry or Sweet flight of wines, but have the option to switch during the tasting. The view from the winery is beautiful and you can purchase a glass and drink inside or outside at their gazebo. The shop also sells a variety of local cheeses and artwork. read more

Didn't love this winery. It has a big gift shop when you walk in, which kind of gives it a cheap feel. Wines were just ok. Tasting area was very cheaply done. I'd say skip this one. read more

I booked a wine and chocolate tasting for my husband and I. We were visiting several wineries in the area and worked entire day around a 3:00 tasting. What a disappointment! There were 5 pairings but the wine was so sparse we couldn't even taste it! They were not willing to pour any extra-- someone else asked. Definitely felt they were after my money more than giving an experience. I'm giving it 3 stars because the chocolate was good. read more

Glenora caters to groups; but they are accommodating regardless. Solid all around winery with upscale ambiance and dining on site.

Don't bother! The view outside is gorgeous but inside was a disappointment. The staff was RUDE. The inside was dirty and the girl who did our tasting rushed us through. The wines were cheap and gross. I will never come back to this low budget fake winery! read more

Having frequently visited Texas Wine Country, I was excited when my in laws brought us to Finger Lakes Wine Country. This place is a GEM! Beautiful scenery and grounds. Bed and breakfast is available as well. You can't beat the price! $4 for 6 tastings! WHAT?!?! I'm used to 6 for $15 in Texas. I love rieslings because of the clean crisp taste. This place had so many crisp wines for all tastes. Great reds and the fruity wines were some of my favorites. I'm going to ask to come back here in the future for more tastings. I wish I had bought some to take home with me, but unfortunately I only had a carry on to take home. read more

I did a tasting with the bubbly wine and they were delicious! Place was busy, but the servers were attentive for the most part.

This place made us wait in line for 25 minutes waiting for wine tastings. We ended up leaving because the wait was so long. Terrible service. read more

Good wine selection with pretty good tastings and nice staff. Wine tastings were very reasonable and had good pours.

Wine was great. The staff was very rude. We came in unsure how the samples worked. The lady at the door said "hello I need money" real nasty without explaining anything. Despite her attitude we still bought a bottle of wine that was very good. read more

We were there for lunch. Food was mediocre at best, chicken on my salad was dry and VERY salty while the lettuce was swimming in dressing. Chicken salad was good but nothing to write home about. We also had a burger which was also okay - could not taste the fig jam. Service was terrible. Waitress barely payed any attention to us in a mostly empty restaurant. She never came back to check in after anything was served and never even bothered to bring a check or take the book with the card in it. Busgirl was much more attentive. For people visiting the area they certainly made an impression. We won't be back. read more

Glenora is the type of place your mom's tacky friend thinks is "just beautiful". Not to be snotty, but if you are a serious wine drinker, skip this one. Glenora is one of those wineries that sells plastic wine cups with straws and signs that claim "I cook with wine...sometimes I even use it in the food". Super friendly service, gorgeous view...not exactly what I would call wine. This was our fourth stop after Heart and Hands, Red TaIl Ridge, and HJ Wiemer, and after visiting places that take such care in the winemaking process, this place seemed like the Sears of wine. They make almost 30 kinds of wine, which should have been our first indication, so many of which are sweet and poorly balanced. The woman pouring our wine couldn't have been nicer, but we couldn't bring ourselves to purchase any of their $15 magnum bottles or bags of wine. Don't believe the hype. Head next door to the distillery and British owned brewing company if you're looking for quality and knowledgeable spirit-makers. read more

One of my favorites in the Seneca lake region. They have a LOT of wines to sample here, and aren't ashamed of it. From the more classic Cab Francs and Chards, to the wild and fun fruit wines, ones that mix well into other beverages (Sangria anyone?), Glenora's got you covered. They even have a more-than-rudimentary selection of cheeses to pair with the wines, many of which we were able to taste during our wine tasting. In fact, it was getting busy when we showed up, so they pulled out a wheelie table just to extend the tasting area to make our experience more comfortable! We bought a few bottles, and some cheese. Great visit, great vineyard with views of the lake. read more

I had high hopes walking in for the tasting. Then the server handed us the tasting menu and told us we couldn't mix and match. We had to pick all dry, all semi, or all fruit wines. I picked all dry and there was only one red on the list. That was also disappointing. I went to the wine shop after the tasting and saw tons of wines that were not part of the tastings and should have been because I would have rather tried those than what was on the tasting menu. The server also didn't say much at all about the wines. Not informative. This could have been a much better tasting experience if we could pick what we wanted and have a better variety to pick from. All but one of my samples were mediocre wine. At least the views were beautiful. read more

This was the first winery we hit up at 10am, which totally equals wine 'o clock in wine country! Being 10am, it was still pretty busy, so I can just imagine what it would be like later in the day. I suggest going early, as we were able to scoot in for a tasting, even though there were 8 of us. I must mention they have a beautiful view, being right on the lake, you can stand at the tasting table and gaze out at the beautiful scenery. So, while enjoying the scenery you can also enjoy a wine tasting for $2. You receive 6 wines to taste plus a special tasting of their seasonal mulled wine. I thought the cabernet sauvignon was the best of the red, with a buttery taste I enjoy. They also had a good amount of sparkling fruity wines. I wasn't a fan of most of them, being too sweet, but I really enjoyed the sparkling peach. It had a light peach flavor and at $14.99 for a bigger bottle, I was a fan! I also enjoyed during the tasting they'd bring out some treats to sample! Great selling point, as I enjoyed the white sharp cheddar and the awesome pumpkin fudge. I don't even like fudge and I liked this pumpkin-y treat! They actually served it with the mulled wine. I thought I'd love it, but it was way too sweet for me. They use their raspberry wine, which to me tasted like Jesus juice, and was just not good. So that was a bummer, but whatever, I took two samples of the pumpkin fudge anyway! read more

Came in for wine tasting. It was $5 a person and you choose 6 wines to try out of maybe 20? There was a lot of options here. They have everything you can think of on the menu to try from whites, red, sweet, dry, sparkling, fruity, and dessert. They did give us some cheese and cracker during the tasting. It is a busier winery since they have the hotel and restaurant so if you want a more quiet setting this may not be for you. They sell pouch wine here for about $14 but it's about 1.5 liter. read more

The best part of the wine tasting here over others was that they actually offered food with the wine. Most of the time it's a bit of cheese but with the ice wine it was chocolate/raspberry fudge. Oh my! That definitely sold me on both the wine and fudge which I proceeded to purchase. read more

The wine at Glenora has gone a bit up and down the hill over the years - though this year was the best year I've seen for their wine in a while. (I'm a dry red - if you like sweeter wine, Glenora is a slam dunk for you.) That said, they do a lovely tasting here. It's average price (so I'm guessing $5 for 5) but they have my favorite wine crackers and they do a little bit of cheese with each wine. It's just a little cube but in terms of experience its great to have the wine and then try it again with a paired cheese. They are also very friendly and its a huge tasting room, so they rarely have a wait. Oh yeah - they sell both the wine crackers and all of the cheeses! read more

We called ahead for our group of 8 adults and 5 small children. The tasting was so nice! I was in a really bad mood because my 2 year old threw a horrible tantrum that morning as we were leaving for our wine tour. The type of tantrum that makes you second guess your qualifications as a parent...get my drift?? Well, even she calmed down at this winery! And I actually started to enjoy myself and calm down as we walked in, the place is so pretty. We paired off into couples and did our tastings. The staff was so well versed and friendly and the wines were excellent! Something for everyone. We shopped more at this vineyard than any other one because of the variety for gifts as well as our own collection. read more
