It's a gorgeous place and worth the visit but it's a pricey overdone winery. It's got two tasting choices even though they could offer a lot more. The prices are higher then any other winery close by and the wine honestly wasn't as good. Has a lot of potential but isn't as great as it could be. read more

The views are most spectacular at Glenora and they offer a wide range of wines from dry to sweet. The tasting was $5 for six wines. Tickets are provided for each tasting which can be applied to the purchase. Upon our arrival we were promtly greeted and given the run-down on available selections. A variety of cheeses was also provided alog with each tasting. The cheeses and wines were available for purchase. Wine by the glass is also advertised, however when we inquired, we were told that we needed to go buy the glass at the front check out. The cashier at the front showed us a list of wines which range is price from $6 to $8. When price comparing, you can purchase an entire bottle for the price of one glass. Unfortunately, this detracts from the idea of purchasing a glass and enjoying the atmosphere. Glenora is a solid vineyard and worthy of a visit when in the area. read more

Loved it here! We weren't able to make reservations but luckily didn't have to wait long to get our tasting in! Glenora followed safety guidelines. We both tried the sweet wines. I loved them and ended up buying 6 bottles to take back home! Finished 3 of them so far! The peach was perfect for me! We also got the chillaxin red, raspberry and rosé. It was $9 to try 6 wines, a steal! The grounds are so nice. There's cheese available for purchase too. I would definitely recommend Glenora for anyone visiting! read more

I had a fine experience at Glenora. It doesn't compare to other wineries in the area but I appreciate that they let my party in without a reservation. For $8/person we were given a plastic cup when everyone else had a wine glass (not sure why). I liked that there was an option to create my own tasting rather than having all dry or all sweet wines. Notable tastings include the Jammin' Red and Blueberry Breeze. I also purchased a gingerbread candle in a wine glass; this was a cute idea for their gift shop. I wish there was some kind of seating to make the experience more enjoyable. The view outside looked beautiful, so maybe they'll set up patio seating in the near future. read more

My boyfriend and I visited a few weeks after they reopened (due to COVID). No reservation was required and when we visited on a Thursday morning, they weren't too busy--be advised that tasting fees are higher, and this was pretty much the same trend at all wineries around the lake. We paid $8 per person for 5 or 6 one ounce pours. The tasting staff were super friendly, informational and helpful. They let us taste a couple extra wines, which led us to leaving there with 2 full cases of wine!! They have the best fruit wine in the area, IMO. The pineapple wine is AMAZING. They have some really cute items in their gift shop. We'll definitely be back when we return to Seneca Lake. read more

Beautiful place. Great fruit wines if you like sweet. Our tasting experience was okay. They have a set flight list and im not a huge fan of those. Out of the 5 wines I liked 2 of them. I really wish they had options for you to try all the wines they offer but you can't. Thats super frustrating. Our server was knowledgeable and hilarious. Kept cracking jokes and made it enjoyable. I do usually buy a few bottles here. read more

I visited during a bachelorette party to Seneca Lake. I did a wine tasting and was impressed with the selection of wines and the wonderful service at the bar. I had a hard time choosing a favorite, so I ended up buying three bottles. The group I was with really enjoyed the wine slushies. There were about 6 different flavors to chose from. The winery has a beautiful view overlooking the vineyard and lake. There is a spacious deck to enjoy every view. I would recommend a visit! read more

Cute winery that took a little while for us to get helped. We were directed by the front desk lady to walk towards some person whom she addressed by name - none of the people at the wine counter were wearing name tags. We perused the "gift shop" while we waited and saw a lot of tacky items including a ton of dog related things but nothing for cat lovers. We waited for the two parties to clear out before we made our way to the counter for a $5 tasting for 6 wines. This did not come with cheese or anything else besides the little crackers - not sure if we were cheated out of the cheese or if they changed the policy at some point. The prices and offerings have seemed to fluctuate from reading the reviews. The old man who poured our wines was very sweet though had minimal knowledge about them besides how much alcohol content is in each, which anyone could read off the back of the bottle. No fun facts about the winery, the wines, or the process. The glasses are very small and to make matters worse, the pours are tinyyyy like about 2 small sips. I was able to get 3 more wines out of the tasting for no additional charge, so I ended up trying everything from their fruity wine collection except the apple. I absolutely love sweet wines, but some of these tasted like melted down Welch's fruit snacks with no acidity or tannin. On the sweet side of the tasting, the first 2 were just slightly more bitter than I like but the Jammin Red (#3) was my favorite. For reference, I'm a moscato drinker. The remaining three wines were essentially fruit juices, which is evidenced by the 4% alcohol content listed on the bottle - not sure why they say 10% online. Of the fruity wines, the cranberry was my favorite most likely because cranberry comes with its own tartness that the fruit wines were lacking. At the end of the tasting, I walked out with 2 bottles of the Jammin Red, 1 of the cranberry wine, and a peach wine chapstick. read more

Welcome to the Rolls Royce of Wineries. Glenora has truly grabbed the bull by the horns with this winery. They have a hotel, a retail shop and a full service restaurant. I am betting it costs a pretty penny to stay here. The view of lake is remarkable. The retail store is enormous. They have two separate tables for tasting. Our host was very accommodating. My favorite guide of the day! They also had the cheapest tasting price of the day, 4 dollars for six pours. I ended up getting 9 :) I had to compare all of the Riesling offerings they had. There 2015 Riesling ended up on a Wine Enthusiast list of the top 100 buys in the world. Every Riesling I tried was outstanding but the Semi-Dry won the prize. I also loved the Black Diamond Express which has a blend of 4 grapes. This was one of the best reds I have ever tasted! Glenora is a prize outfit. It should certainly be on your list and it might be worthy of your home base for your Finger Lakes experience. read more

This was my first stop on a series of wine tours around Seneca Lake. Glenora was BEAUTIFUL on the outside and they honestly couldn't have been in a better spot. It was very picturesque outside with an oversized wine barrel out front right on the lake. I give this location three stars because the wine tended to be more on the sweeter side than I'm used to. I tend to like dryer wines and even the dry wines were on the sweeter side. They weren't very distinguishable between the others, but if you like sweeter wines and want to do a tasting, I would definitely recommend this place not only for the wine, but for great views of the lake. It's also one of the older wineries around the lake, so definitely worth popping in to hear the history. read more

The employee seemed annoyed to serve us. Much classier wineries with friendly hosts who take pride in their work.

$4 tasting for 6 wines and cheese pairing 10 stars for the amazing service and wonderful experience that Ed provided us. Ed went above and beyond to figure out our palette. We were having trouble deciding the r.s. level for the reislings and he was very very veryyyy patient with us. He is also very friendly and had a nice conversation with us while other winieries we experienced, the staffs were all about business. Some of the wines we liked were: - willow white - niagara blend and is only sold exclusively at their winery - the bubbly Riesling - very fun and not too fizzy - the select harvest Riesling - not too sweet but goes down well - blueberry breeze- fun and delicious Oh and the cheese! the cheeseeeeee went so well with the wine pairing. We ended up buying a few bottles and cheese! Update : Bought a box of niagara and shared with friends and everyone loved its unique taste. Looks like I'll be back every year to restock read more

We came here during a Seneca wine visit. The views here are impeccable and unmatched. The tasting room is really big and seems like the it would accommodate groups well. The wines or ok but I would really suggest coming here for the views and the vibe. Our server, Sue, was so helpful and we loved chatting with her about wine in the area. They also have some really good wine slushies which would be really fun with a group on a summer day. Their new patio is also gorgeous for outdoor seating!! read more

This winery was my last visit on my wine tour. It's one of the more popular and larger wineries on the west side of the lake. The views from the tasting room are gorgeous. You can see the vineyards and a view of the east side of the lake. Must be really nice during the peak of fall foliage. Most of the vines are bare but some do have grapes on them. They leave it for their ice wine since they must go through a frozen period. A tasting costs $4 for six tastings. I opted for the sweeter wines which were all pretty good. The pomegranate pizzazz was the winner for me and I ended up buying a bottle. The ice cabernet franc was super rich and flavorful. It is a very sweet wine and would be something you want to drizzle over your dessert. The black diamond express was a blend of the Cabernet Franc, Noiret, Merlot and had a nice silky finish. Only some wines were only available in the retail shop. What was also nice about this tasting is that they pair each with a cheese. The cheeses were not made on the premises but were from nearby farms in the NY region. The strawberry and wasabi horseradish cheeses were quite unique. The cheeses are sold in the shop for abut $8-9. If you pay cash for your tasting, they also give you a ticket which is worth $1 off one bottle. This winery is open later than the other ones because they do have a restaurant on site. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to try the food. If only this vineyard wasn't far away, then I would like to have this as my wedding venue. read more

Staff is very rude, NOT kid friendly in the least. If you complain they will defend their staff before trying to make it right. There are so many amazing wineries in the area, why would I return to a place I feel unwelcome? Wine was good but my experience was ruined. I remember coming to Glendora 20 years ago and put it as a must stop on my Mother Daughter trip Views are amazing if u like sweet wines a good place to stop. BUT the tasting are was a Kearns at best. Staff pleasant read more

The property is nice, you can tell they are trying to upkeep a fairly older and dated facility. The view of the lake is gorgeous and every room gets that view although the top floor is slightly better. The staff are unfriendly, it's not that they are trying to be rude but they are just unfriendly. Every question or request felt like we are trying to annoy their day. Wine tasting experience is the weirdest of all, you get shuffled to a back room where the staff comes and goes in an assembly line formation. There is an older grey hair fella/staff that is the most memorable, he seems grumpy at all times and loves to grunt and yell towards your direction even if there is no one around you, reminds me of a drill sergeant. And the wine is not great, but it's on par with the rest of the bad wines produced in that region so I'm not knocking them for that. read more

Decent wines I had looked forward to this place more than others. I read that this was the best place to visit. This is what you need to know. You must purchase a pre-selected flight of either dry, semi-dry or sweet wines. The other option is select 6 wines that you prefer. It's $5 per tastings. They provide you a $2 coupon per tastings off of a single bottle. They should waive the fee completely if you purchase a bottle. They take your money immediately. You are also in a line and have to wait until you are escorted to the tasting room. Now the wines were just alright. They didn't blow me out of the water. Yes the Riesling was good. Although everyone has a good Riesling in the area. This place is very large and has a large store as well as restaurant. read more

Glenora Wine Cellars offers a drink with a view! Overlooking Lake Seneca, Glenora provides you a wonderful vantage point to take in the hills, foliage, and water as you sip wine. It appears to be one of the more popular winery stops among the Lake Seneca wineries with many large limo and bus groups making their way through, but the staff have a well oiled system to get groups of any size in the door without feeling over crowded. They space the tasting groups out so you won't be forced to fight for elbow room at the tasting table. Tables of 5-10 are set up for groups to try a selection of 6 wines. The flights are separated into a dry and sweet tasting that can be mixed and matched depending on your personal preference. Glenora has one of the better Rieslings in the area, but my personal favorite was the Black Diamond Express. They even had a free cheese tasting to compliment you're the wine. Staff are very friendly and know a lot about the wine inventory and general area in case you are looking for other area recommendations. Reserve time before or after your visit for pictures because you won't want to miss the perfect photo opp! Walk down to the massive wine barrels that are set along the rolling hills and allow for beautiful Lake Seneca to enhance your photos. read more

We visited a few wineries in the Seneca Lake area and this place one of the better ones. The staff was excellent, never rushing and took time to share the details of the different wines. Best of 5 wineries we saw in a day of touring. Their dry Riesling was one of my favorites all day and the best value. Also, I really enjoyed the unoaked Cab Franc. Bought bottles of both these and the not dry Riesling. The views are incredible from their parking lot. The tasting room isn't the fanciest, but the staff is nice. I consider this a must stop if you are in the area. read more

Everyone here was so friendly to us and our dog during our visit! We started with a tasting in the designated tasting room, which is dog friendly inside. We could select any 5 of their 47 wines, which was a bit overwhelming for choices! We then got a glass of wine each at the bar inside, and drank them on the deck our back. All of which included the pup! The deck has incredible views of the lake. Finally they have a nice shop of wine themed items, cheese, and the 47 wines. I'd recommend this winery highly. read more

I'm torn on the number of stars here. But I think 3 sums it up, since overall our experience was "meh". The good: -The wine! The wine itself is great. I tended to like their whites more, it's hard to find a red that I like in all in the Finger Lakes region, but if you know anything about wine, that is expected given the climate. -The tasting is decently priced- $4 for 6 tastings. Generous tasting portions and, my favorite touch, cheese pairings with each sampling. They had an array of cheeses that each lent themselves to the particular wine.... not your usual cheese selection. Havarti-muenster blend (edible heaven), horseradish wasabi, strawberry champagne, roasted garlic.... the list goes on! -The views: iconic finger lakes views- vineyards, Seneca Lake, a light snow. I highly recommend winter wine tasting.... crowds do not exist. No more drunk people slobbering over your tasting glass or space. This is priceless. The bad: -Our pourer left little to be desired. He wasn't particularly rude or off-putting, but he wasn't really anything positive either. A few surface- level fun facts about the wine, he seemed particularly obsessed with the wine pouches. I feel like he was slightly abrasive and in a hurry, unwarranted for so little tasters at the time. A little humor or personal connection would have been a nice touch. Not a deal-breaker though. We all have our days. The ugly: We chose Glenora as our starting point because they advertised an event-tasting: a brunch pairing! Part of their sister winery promotions with 3 dishes and 3 wine tastings. A measly $15 for brunch and drinks, you say? Well hold tight. When we bought the tickets, the very friendly front desk girl informed us that they were small plates, so we lowered our expectations slightly. But we were starving so we didn't care. We got lucky and had our own private brunch pairing since again, no crowds! I will say, the man serving us was wonderful, informative and warm and he had the cutest set-up of drinks. Unfortunately food-and-drink-wise, we were very disappointed. The "small plates" were indeed tiny 5" diameter plastic plates..... with a 2x2" piece of [decadent] peach flatbread. Served with a mimosa (yay!!!.... wait... I came for wine....) with their sister-winery's peach Spumante. Yum, but, wine? More wine please... The next course was a "frittata"..... which was a cold (?!?) salty, spongey, eggy, mousse substance, paired with a Bloody Mary featuring another sister winery's cucumber vodka. Interesting, probably tasty if you're a Bloody Mary fan (I'm not), but again.... wine? Finally the last course had wine, albeit, very sweet wine, but it meshed well with the tiny 3" French toast sticks. We left still hungry, and were turned off to the idea of checking out their cafe after the frittata "experience". I would give anything for more of that flatbread though... and more wine!! read more

Sat in the wine cellar which is decor and rugs from the 80's. Food was under seasoned and underwhelming. For example, the burger looked like a meatball and the bun was huge. My wife had the turkey club and it was lacking in every possible way. The broccoli cheddar soup was ok, but needed salt and pepper. We didn't order the cheese plate, but a couple did next to us and that looked good, but I didn't see her get excited while eating it. Very pricey for a mediocre at best meal. Do NOT sit in the wine cellar, no matter how busy it is. Wait for a table if you HAVE to eat here. read more

Glenora had my favorite wines for the area, however their taisting room was a bit chaotic for me. I was part of a larger group so it took a bit to get us in for tasting. First, we didn't know where to check in and pay. There are registers to the left when you walk in but those are for making wine/souvenir purchases. To do tastings, you walk past the registers and wait for someone to take you. Once we got everything figured out, we had an amazing experience! One worker did the entire taisting with only our group. He was funny, entertaining, and super knowledgeable about the wine. I ended up buying the most wine here and probably would have gotten more if we had more time! read more

Worse wine tasting experience and won't return. We were ignored even though the tasting room wasn't busy. No commentary. After I complained, not much improved. Horrible experience. My friend and I stopped in for a wine tasting, expecting a personalized experience and decent wine. What we got was a plastic cup of cheese, unpolished (and maybe unwashed glasses) and an angry hostess who interrupted us mid tasting to tell us to "hurry up, you're at a tasting and you're sitting here texting when there's a line of people waiting." When you're out somewhere drinking, you should never be rushed - especially if you are planning to pace yourself so you can drive yourself out. Would never recommend this place, especially since the only table to be "scolded" was ours - the one table with a non white individual in the entire establishment. Racist, unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, non accommodating and frankly low brow. read more

Lovely views from the deck and cost effective rive wine tasting. Snacks available too. Crackers, pop corn, cheese and mostly beef though

This review is for the restaurant at Glenora... We made a reservation for lunch on a lovely Sunday afternoon since we were in the area at Watkins Glen State Park (just 8 miles away). They don't take reservations for their deck so we were lucky there was a table available and out of the fierce wind. The view is stunning and outdoors on a nice day is much better than inside the stuffy dining room. Our meals were overall good - the Cuban sandwich was excellent with a slight twist on the traditional preparation. The turkey Reuben was just ok. The cheese board was more successful though they were out of the Camembert cheese which was disappointing and they did not have fresh bread at lunch. The NY wines we tried were all tasty. Our server did a nice job. The setting is worth a visit. read more

We found an off-season deal and stayed for 1 evening on a weekday. The staff was very friendly, and I was very impressed by the welcome we received. 2 glasses of sparkling wine when checking in, a complimentary bottle of wine in the room fridge (after our tasting in the winery we asked to exchange the one we were given, and had no problems.), free tastings at Glenora during the stay, plus a card for free tastings at 3 other wineries sometime this year. The room was large and comfortable. The beds were excellent, and had 4 fluffy pillows each. The climate control is right in the room for convenience, and the patio deck was awesome, and made me wish the weather was nicer! My only problem during the stay was that at around 10 AM, while we were getting our things ready to leave, housekeeping walked into the room without knocking. (I had gotten up for coffee at their complimentary breakfast bar and had forgotten to put the extra lock on.) Not sure what was up with that, since checkout as at 11, but I was less than thrilled when I looked up while getting dressed and the door was open. :-/ Other than that little snafu, everything was great! :-) read more
