When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We went with Forever Builders, who also did some demo for us when we first moved in. Among other things, we 1) stripped and replaced the floor, 2) demoed the built-in tub and replaced it with a soaking tub, 3) replaced the vanity countertops, 4) installed a chandelier and sconces, and 5) installed a custom shower door. Steve was our project manager for the entire project, which took 3-4 weeks. We are so incredibly pleased with the result, and just as happy with the service and professionalism we received from Steve and his team. Steve managed every aspect of this complex project flawlessly, stopped by frequently to check progress and QC each phase of work, and was consistently responsive and professional. He took my calls on nights and weekends, and I always felt taken care of and valued as an important customer--such a rare occurrence these days. The craftsmanship was flawless too. I am a detail-oriented person and tend to demand perfection, and Forever Builders exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, they also installed a floating vanity for me in a secondary bathroom, as a complimentary part of the project. Just discovered another problem--plumbing. We hired Forever…read moreBuilders in 2022 for a whole-house remodel, and the experience was extremely stressful. Our project manager, Adam, was unable to make decisions without approval from Ben, which caused delays and frustration throughout the project. The company hired a subcontractor without adequately overseeing the quality of the work. That subcontractor then brought in plumbers, drywall installers, and painters whose work repeatedly fell below expectations. Our newly installed wood floors were not properly protected, and we found numerous problems as the project progressed. Several issues required significant rework, including reopening walls to correct newly installed plumbing issues, repainting every door a second time, and re-texturing wall sections multiple times to achieve an acceptable match. The project ran more than three months over schedule. Most recently, we discovered another serious plumbing issue in a bathroom we have not used since the remodel. The shower valve was loose in the wall. After removing the faceplate, we found that the valve was free-floating, supported only by the plumbing rather than being secured to the framing. We now must hire someone to remove tile, open the wall, properly secure the valve, and re-tile the area. In our view, failing to secure a shower valve to the structure is unacceptable workmanship. After the repeated problems, delays, and now this costly repair, we cannot recommend Forever Builders.
