1 Star - Avoid at All Costs: Irresponsible, Negligent, and Damaging I recently moved into the neighborhood and decided to try Glamour Cleaners based on a recommendation from my doorman. I dropped off several button-up shirts for a simple wash and press. What I got back was a complete disaster. First issue: 3 out of the 5 shirts were returned with identical stains in the same spot - as if something was stuck in their press or machine. Annoying, but mistakes happen, so I brought everything back to be re-cleaned. Second (and far worse) issue: When the shirts came back the second time, the stains were mostly gone, but one of my fine custom white dress shirts - a shirt I wear only for more formal events - was destroyed. The collar had been ripped open from the inside because someone at their off-site facility inserted metal collar stays that were too long for the shirt. When the collar was pressed down in the packaging, the stays punctured straight through the fabric. This shirt is not easily replaceable, and it is absolutely not one I would treat with such neglect. The final straw: When I called and spoke with the manager, "Jay", he refused to take any responsibility. He insisted they "don't use collar stays," blamed the damage on me (the stays are definitely NOT mine), and dismissed the fact that they outsource all cleaning - meaning there is zero quality control to begin with. I asked for a reasonable compromise to replace the shirt (not even at full value), and he flat-out refused. Instead, he told me that if I didn't like his answer, I could take him to small claims court - and that the most I'd get back is five times the cleaning cost. In other words: "Your custom shirt is ruined, here's twenty bucks." Glamour Cleaners took no responsibility for staining my shirts, neglected my property, and refused to make it right. This place is negligent, unprofessional, and unapologetic. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear. There are plenty of dry cleaners in a two-block radius of this place - you don't need to risk your wardrobe here. (Attaching a photo of the damage for anyone curious.) read more

I personally don't need laundry services and mom can do my alterations for me for free ($19 to hem a pair of pants? :O), but I've come here several times to drop off/pick up Raymond's laundry since he works before they open and after they close. I can't really comment on the prices because I'm a poor student, but Glamour Cleaners sure does the job for people who can afford their services! The customer service is great; the guy who was at the front knew Raymond by name so I was able to drop his clothes off and pick them up super easily. The quality is also great - I'm always so amazed by the perfectly folded clothes in a neat stack. read more

THEY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST WOMEN. For a plain white man's dress shirt, it's $3.00 to launder, iron and fold. For a woman's? TEN DOLLARS. There is absolutely no excuse for this. The majority of cleaners do not do this. Also, if you want your shirt folded instead of on a hanger? Nope. They will only fold a man's shirt. I'm going back to Po Yee on 78th. It'll be worth it to not have to deal with this kind of sexism. And if I have something high end to dry clean, I'll just go to Madame Paulette. read more

I very very rarely leave reviews for places unless I'm impressed to the point where I feel compelled to leave a review: I've been using glamour cleaners every so often for my nicer dresses, shirts, skirts, and I've always experience great customer service and had everything come back in perfect condition. They even restored a silk shirt that I had accidentally throw in the washing machine. However, my most recent experience is what really blew me away about this place. I have a white shearling designer coat that is my favorite item in my closet, and irreplaceable. I recently spilled chicken curry orange sauce all over it and wasn't able to take it to the cleaners for two weeks (which means the stain really set in). I brought it in and they told told me they had to consult their shearling specialist first to see if it could be fixed and avoid ruining the coat more, and would call me and let me know if it could be and the price before they attempted to clean it. They were very transparent and even let me know over the phone after they had gotten it cleaned that there was still a trace of one of the stains (which I absolutely expected, it was truly a terribly stain). Yet my jaw still dropped when I picked up the coat - they had gotten ALL of the stain out of the fur, and the trace of a stain that they mentioned is impossible to see unless your face is right on top of it! Needless to say, I have been blown away by their attentiveness, customer care, transparency, and by their incredible ability with stains. read more

I went to this place for convenience, but no longer. They have raised the price of wash and fold to $1.25/lb now and my clothes have come back wrinkly more than once! Unbelievable. Also, if you drop off in the morning and pick up "after 6" many times the laundry has not come back yet. This is because they send everything out to some 3rd party. Having all of my laundry come back folded in wrinkles is INEXCUSABLE. What am I paying for? Will be searching for another wash and fold place in the area. Overall just a mediocre, overpriced place. read more

We cannot say enough but Arnold and Glamour Cleaners. We had clothing moths from our building and Arnold handpicked up all of our items (over 150+) and cleaned, packages and returned every single one. We felt so safe with him handling our clothes and he was continuously communicative throughout the process. The price is super affordable and we can't recommend them enough! read more

Top notch. I was really happy even just dropping my clothes off. They were so nice and had such an attention to detail. I probably would have returned for the customer service alone even if the cleaning sucked. Today I picked up three dresses (one very expensive designer), a jacket and two sweaters that were dry cleaned. They were able to remove stains that have been set for three years and I got it all for $60. I'm almost in disbelief. As we speak, I'm packing up my wash and fold. They are officially in charge of all my cleaning. So thrilled they're around the corner!! read more

I gladly travelled for 40 min just to get my precious Prada dress dry cleaned here. Not only are they very friendly, they also are great professionals, honest and meticulous: they inspect the dress and washing instructions, and tell you what can be done. I dropped it last Friday afternoon and got it back on Monday afternoon. I am also a thrIft store enthusiast and the other vintage dress I gave them came back like brand new and without a smell! I'll update my review once I get my cleaning back. When I went to drop off my cleaning only the seamstress was there, and Although she attempted to help, she had no clue. I had a few errands to run, so was able to leave my bag and come back in 20 min and get everything settled with a regular employee. Figured it happens, bad timing. I go to pick up my cleaning and the SAME THING happens. And she has no clue how to find my clothes. So I left and because of schedule etc I still haven't picked up my clothes a week later (again that's on me, but wouldn't have happened if I was able to pick up everything the dust time) Either need more employees, or figure out some training or contingency if the one person who can handle customers also has to do deliveries. Too many other options in the area to have to possibly deal with this inconvenience again. read more
