Other option is paying $200 for a topical treatment so I am NOT pleased. My friend did not get fungus but the woman I had charged her card and added a tip WITHOUT her consent. She noticed the receipt had $10 listed for tips and she called her out on it then fixed it to $5. She did an amazing job on my French tips..& didn't overcharge. I came back to her, after going to 3 other places 1st. I think I like the way she did them best. I would've given more stars, but she did hurt my skin a little with the drill, but only Bc I had dried superglue on my nails. I usu don't get my nails done regularly, but may just go back to Hong.. she is reasonably priced, kind & talkative, & has been there 22+ years & has a small kid my child's age. I prob will continue to go back on reg basis. I'd like to try there 2nd location out (I think it's near SFC, but not sure--maybe they won't make my cuticles bleed!). I do think they could remodel this store again soon, but no big deal. & wish she would've wrapped my gels in foil when removing them the 1st time instead of having me place fingers in bowl of acetone. & 2nd time, my cuticle was bleeding a little from Dremel, but not too bad, & think she used dremel Bc of superglue on them (But will ask her not to.) I am a little sketchy about her doing that again.. but I like the job she did. These pics were taken several days after the manicure, & they still look pretty besides the dried blood..u can see the dried blood on my nails in these pics. My friend and I (female UF students) came here after we found the salon we had planned to go to was closed on Mondays (Why do so many GNV businesses do this??). I was a bit skeptical of the store's appearance, which looks like any mall salon and not a spa, but I'm SO glad we came here. I've been to many salons that look a lot nicer that have charged me twice as much and didn't have nearly as good of a service as Glamorous. We both got mani-pedis for $35 each and it was one of the best mani-pedis I've ever had. For the pedicure, the woman (Ann) did an amazing hot stone massage and extended leg message, which other salons usually charge extra for. I usually gauge how good the service is by how long it takes, and it took well over 40 minutes and she did three coats with the nail polish I chose. I rarely get manicures, but they did a beautiful job and I was surprised that it includes a neck/back massage while I wait for my nails to dry. As for the workers, I didn't feel any catty-ness from them or perceive they were making snide comments about me to each other like I often do in other salons. I come home only once a year and I never miss my annual visit to Glamorous Nails. This is your standard Asian nail salon by appearance, but not by value. A mere $32 will get your an hour of an aggressive massage chair, hot stone leg massage, calf massage, pumice stone, pedicure, manicure, hand massage, back massage, and constant reassurance of how amazing you look. I believe she called me a queen and my boyfriend a king, who actually got a pedicure too. I can't tell you how many times he told me to glance at his toes over the next few days. I'm always a walk-in, and always welcomed with open arms. Don't go to a spa when you can have the royal treatment for half the price. read more

I guess you get what you pay for? I'm from out of town visiting family and have had my fair share of Asian salon experiences, and this one ranks pretty low. I wasn't expecting a spa experience. I wanted to get in, and get out, with a decent mani and pedi. While I was in and out of there lickety split, the nail services I received were sub par, and in a very dirty, unkempt environment. Things to note: No antiseptic anything was put in the water bath of the pedi chair. There was no cuticle oil utilized for pushing back of cuticles, only water. All the products used are in repurposed containers. I saw scrub in a pickle jar. No joke. The razor used on me to cut calluses off my heels wasn't swapped before use, making me think razors are shared on clients (BIG, no no.) I didn't see ANY autoclave machines in sight. A serious language barrier. "Please don't cut that toenail"...toenail gets cut anyhow. Dirty. They are heavily focused on massage, which I guess is OK? But still doesn't compensate for the above issues, or the fact I walked out with poorly shaped nails and polish all over the area where the nail meets the skin. Yuck. read more

I am disappointed in the reviews given to this nail shop. I went based on Yelp reviews and went home with the worst nails I've ever had. While the people were nice, my friend and I asked for a simple mani/pedi where our services ended up completely different. My friend had a man do her nails and he was in a rush to leave so her nails had lumps on them. On top of that, they did not have the gel polish I wanted so I ended up with a random polish. The gel polish was painted so horribly that my fingernail was literally glued to my skin. I just now peeled it off this morning. I haven't ever had someone care so little about their own work. I would think that someone who did this for a living would be a little more careful about how their work looked. My tab was $50, completely not worth it and waste of my money. The woman that did my nails made me feel sooooo uncomfortable. She made me feel so bad that one of my thin nails tore off while I was at work the previous week. Who are YOU to scold me for my nails??? I work HARD. I get my nails done to pamper myself, not to be scolded by a woman who works from a chair all day. I think the was the manger? She did an awful job on my nails. I had gel done and it wasn't even around the cuticles at all. The polish peeled almost entirely off after a week. She proceeded by taking out her anger on my cuticles with a filing stick. I pointed out that there was gel polish on my skin and she assured me it would come off when I washed my hands. It didn't. Sat there for 40 min watching a young man give a pedicure. My turn comes. I am there for a mani/pedi. I am a man. My pedicure lasts maybe 20 minutes max. The manicure last maybe 15 another joke. That was the second time i have been. First time was okay. This time horrible i will not be back unless i can have the male take care of my pedicure. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. As for the pictures posted of the dark purple gel I can say I just had the same experience. Here's my story: went in for color change. Instead of wrapping my nails with acetone and aluminum and a cotton ball they had me soak my fingers in a bowl of acetone. Should've walked out then and there .... then gel was taken off with the dremmel. Yeah. No. I said no dremmel they said it's soft buff not like acrylic. Should've def left there. Well. They didn't have my nail color after it went bad and it wasn't opaque. So I said I'll change my color they said no we make it and of course I thought it meant get a new bottle and it was just a language barrier. But nope. My dark plum turned into this (pic attached) which is bright red called "color me diner" then attempt with my expired purple then a bright Barbie corvette pink. Not one. Not two. But three coats. And top coat was one finger each hand an switch for the light. So instead of painting one full hand. Stupid music black lights. End of the story? Sloppy on my skin. Had to peel off. Poorly manicured cuticles oh and the color ?! Homemade purple pink prostitute. Yes. Not lying. I feel like creature of the night. So much for being a professional with a masters degree. read more

I love this nail salon. The women are all really nice and remember details about all of the customers. (The owner always asks about my daughter and how work is going, for example.) When they're crowded or backed up, they let you know when to come back and slot you as an appointment so you don't have to wait if someone else comes in before you return. I have a one-month old baby and I haven't gotten my nails done since before the baby was born. I was so excited to go and get a mani/pedi because it would be my first outing without my baby and my nails looked terrible. I called Glamorous Nails to see if they could take me and I made an appointment with them. I had a limited time I could go because I'm still nursing but I planned with my husband for him to be with the baby while I went in between feedings. When I arrived they told me I had to wait. I explained I couldn't wait, that I had a one-month old and a very tight window I could go in. They said they were sorry but I still had to wait and wanted to know if I could come back tomorrow. I said no there is no one to watch the baby during the weekdays except for me and asked them why they didn't tell me there was a wait when I called. If I had known, I wouldn't have made an appointment and scheduled everything with my husband. This is my second time having a situation like this with them. They tell you that yes, they can take you in, and then when you arrive you see that there is several people ahead of you and they tell you to wait. What is the point of making an appointment if they don't respect it or your time. I will not be returning. read more

Strangest and worst manicure of my life. For starters, the salon was very busy and even though we had called ahead for appointments, we had to wait 20 minutes. Granted, it was graduation weekend so that wasn't a big deal. When the manicure started, the manicurist used unsterilized tools. Eww! She made one of my cuticles bleed when trimming them, and now I'm just hoping it doesn't get infected. They give you a shoulder "massage" as part of the manicure, which really just involves smacking you on the shoulders and upper back repeatedly. I've never experienced this with a manicure before. I just wanted a quick manicure so my nails would be done for the week, but two days later the paint is chipping and scratched. My nails last much longer when I just do them myself! There aren't many places to get ur nails done in Gainesville and this is the worst one to go to. When I put my feet into the water in the spa chair the water was cold and when I asked him to adjust it, he did not and it remained cold. During my manicure the man cut my finger and I cried and he showed no remorse. Then when I was bleeding he continued to cut it and I told him to stop and he kept trying to fix it. I took my girlfriend to (Glamorous Nails) after she had a hard day at work to cheer her up, but I wish we would have picked another place because of the disrespect and awful customer service! The employees there are super racist to be more specific. They did not treat us like the other white customers that were there. The white women were greeted with a smile and they were not (forced) to leave a tip, and they did not in all honesty nor should anyone be forced to.When my girlfriend asked the employees there if they did certain nail designs they responded "yes only flowers" and my girlfriend asked what kind and they were speaking with anger in a language we don't understand. The woman also yelled at me when her employee gave us the wrong price of my girl's nails just because he doesn't know english well. The ONLY reason why my girlfriend left a tip was because she felt that the employee there did a great job, but I wish she didn't. This was one of the least glamorous experiences of my life. I would highly recommend you allow your tween give you a pedicure over going to Glamorous Nails. I came in for a pedicure and left with clenched fists and ugly toes. The entire experience began with pedicure water that was blisteringly hot, to which I nicely asked that they turn the heat down- which quickly translated to an ice bath. She then manipulated my toenails with un-sanitized tools and shaved my feet with a not so new razor, after all of this she then painted a sole coat of nail polish on my toes. But, the experience only gets better... She then took my sandals to place them on my feet, to which I asked that she be very careful because I had just purchased them earlier that day and they were quite the expense, she applied the top coat and was off to "paint" another set of toes. While waiting for my toenails to dry I noticed that I had nail polish on my skin and began to pick it off. She approached me with a cotton ball soaked in acetone and tried to assist me in cleaning up the mess she had left on my skin. I politely asked her not to do so because I didn't want her to take the color off my new sandals, but to her that meant please rub my sandals with your cotton ball soaked in acetone. This left a large portion of the color on my sandal removed. I took a moment to gather my thoughts and asked to speak to the manager. After explaining how her technician ruined one of my new shoes, she offered me a discounted pedicure. I am not sure where customer service has disappeared to, but I informed her that a reduction in price was not going to cut it, I then asked that she either pay for my shoes that I had purchased a mere two hours earlier, or that her technician pay for them. After thirty minutes of being criticized for wearing too expensive of shoes, I was written a check for the sandals. They did take the sandals and my receipt for them, but I was mocked and scolded for the whole experience by the entire staff. I went there on Sunday 7/23/2017, the shop was closing but they still had customers so he (older man) stated he can complete my fill in. The fill job turned out ok, but the polishing was not great, but while I sat in the chair, the entire time I sat there he conversed with another woman in the shop (non stop this woman, she was loud and it was very irritating to hear her right in my ear), the only question he asked me is if I would like pedicure, I stated yes, since he was staying late anyway, but there was a younger man who did the pedicure, he did not speak at all, he only spoke to the older man, then the older man translated what he said to me. When I got ready to put my feet in the spa, I had to wait because there was a roach floating in tub, the older man's excuse was they just sprayed yesterday and now the bugs are coming out, I was thinking to myself, the shop is cluttered and looks like it needs a grand cleaning to get rid of those bugs. He was very rough on the entire treatment, the polish didn't have time to dry before he was rushing me out the door, I actually went out with the toe dividers on and extremely wet thick polish, before I could get to my car, I had to have him touch up a spot.
