My nail polish isn't super even, and I need to touch up the filing. I simply don't like my nails, and am disappointed this is what I will have for the holidays. I totally understand that not every nail tech is skilled at nail art, but then make that clear. Tell the client it's not possible, and that you can only do the basics. I would have just went with red nails if I had originally known what I was going to get by trying to get nail art. My pedicure was good.

One week later - the gel is peeling off of every single one of my nails. Gel manicures last THREE WEEKS at my usual place - no chipping, no lifting. Since I am 15 hours away from home on vacation, I called and requested a refund because I had to spend another $30+ to get my nails re-done while I'm here. The guy who answered the phone told me no, and that I could come in and get them fixed. I told him that's not possible because I'm five states away and I need to get them fixed right away, to avoid any fungus growing between the lifting gel and my actual nail. He laughed at me and hung up on me. I have never been treated like this in almost ten years of getting my nails done. I am disgusted that I wasted my hard-earned money on this place!!!

The salon is well kept and cozy: with two small rooms, it feels less like a "hair salon" and more like a friend's house. It has never been crowded or too busy when I've been there, which I like, and the stylists don't get interrupted every 5 minutes with phone calls or walk-ins, so you feel like you really have their full attention. Also, they offer complimentary drinks (water, coffee, soda) to sip during your service. I've seen Mindy Johnson there several times. She is hilarious and fun to talk to, plus she always does a great cut on my unruly hair. (I have fine, wavy hair, but a lot of it, and she is able to tame it into a cut that works for me.) She listens to what I want but also has helpful suggestions to help me not always get the same old cut. She's fast (I'm always done in under an hour) but accurate, and she does a great job with bangs. Plus, you can book appointments with her online through StyleSeat, which is great if you have a busy schedule. I highly recommend her! I'm not sure on CJ's nail services, but I have loved all of my haircuts here and have made it my go-to salon. Also, the prices are competitive: a shampoo/condition/haircut/blowdry with Mindy is $30 (before tip)...hard to beat in Gainesville!
